My question is: how did your llmd proceed with your treatment based on this result?

Were you treated for bartonella,or mycoplasma?

Thank you so much for your help!

I'm positive for the hemobartonella and/or mycoplasma. Currently on clarithromycin, rifampin, plaquenil, though I'm not really sure which one my LLMD is treating.

Thank you Blaze for your post. What symptoms were you experiencing before you were treated for this?

I had many co-infections & we've basically been going after what we KNOW I have. It would be impossible to determine if any part of my treatment is effecting the Fry organism.

I guess if we manage to get all of the things we can positively identify (by other tests & symptoms) under control, then we could re-test & see if it's still showing up.

I wonder if you'll find anyone who doesn't have a multitude of identified co-infections that can give you better answers.

[confused]

I had that result. Dr won't rule out bart.

Wants to treat babs first, though.

Am not treating now b/c stuck on yeast.

I got the hemobart/mycoplasma designation for my smear, but i don't seem to have bart or mycoplasm symptoms,(?) as far as i can tell, but who knows!

My symptoms seem to be mainly babesia, i do respond to babesia treatments, and am treating it as such.

Thank you all for your responses.

Lou, I agree that no one may know how to treat this mystery bug.

Alig, what coinfection are you being treated for now and what symptoms were you exhibiting that led your llmd to arrive at your course of treatment?

Saskat what symptoms do you have that makes your llmd feel that you may have bart?

Thanks for your help!

My doctor is treating it as a hemobartonella. He started me on Bactrim about a month ago. So far, I see no difference in symptoms.

Thank you, Lassie for your response.
What symptoms were or are you experiencing that made your doctor feel that hemobartenella was the cause?

Every single person with lyme-type illness that I know personally has the 'possible' hemobart and/or mycoplasma from the fry lab blood smear.

Now word has got around that Dr. Fry does not know for sure what it is, there is some consensus that it might be a parasite related bug and Dr. Fry is doing more testing.

I have been treating my bart with high power levaquin for quite a long time and symptoms have not improved at all. My doctor is kinda stumped. Now we are doing a lot of testing for babesia, that is the only thing I have not treated for yet.

There is a new bartonella test coming soon that is being developed by some high ranking vets. The test will test for the actual DNA of bartonella which should be highly accurate. My llmd said it will be out this year sometime. I don't know the name of the vets doing it or what the test will be called.

Buster,(maybe this is why the levaquin is not working. I would ask your Dr. about the following study.
http://jac.oxfordjournals.org/cgi/content/short/61/6/1252?rss=1

I asked my friend to ask Dr. F on her last visit to narrow it down the Haemobartonella or Protozoa.
Originally he was saying that she only had the protozoa now that has changed. She stated that he very enthusiastically told her that with his new testing they are seeing all these things
simultaneously when looking at the blood.

Another blood sample was taken. Ill let you know.

The DNA of Haemobartonella/Mycoplasma -Hemoplasma
and Bartonella are 2 different things.

The company doing the Bart testing is

http://www.galaxydx.com/

They are not up and running yet.

Research testing in the vet lab at NC State is being done with specimens sent from doctors all over the country at this time.

Buster,

Do you have the F haemobartonela/mycoplasma finding or are you positive for Bartonella?

Thank you Buster and Marsy for your info. I also heard from my llmd that Fry did not have anything conclusive yet.

As some here have done, I called and spoke with a lab technician (I think) from Fry this week about my lab, which was done last fall.

The person who answered my call was very nice and took a look at my lab. He said that it looked like it was leaning more toward some form of bacteria than protozoa, but no one can say for sure.

He advised me to have my llmd call Dr. F. to discuss possible treatment options. I found this statement strange since my llmd had already told me that Dr. F. was not sure of anything, but that was probably a few months back.

Have any of your llmd's spoken with Dr. F. recently about this ?

Maybe you could re-test since they have a new test now which is even different from the one my friend had back in April. The thing I found confusing was when she explained that the Dr. said we are seeing the protozoa, hemoplasma etc
all together at one time.

So then how will these be identified in the future? Are they all incased in the same biofilm?
Not sure what this means but very curious if other patients are hearing the same information.

My smear says 'suggestive of hemobart or myco' but the very first fry test I had I had IGG positive for bart (quint & hens) I have had about 4 more fry tests since and they have all been negative as far as the immune system is but the smear is still the same.

Buster,

That is what I was wondering about. The Q & H diagnosis.

By the way you are aware that the levaquin or flouroquinolones can be dangerous over a long period of time?
