Did you ever want to start your life over-with little or no memory of what was you before?

Steps to follow:
Get a tick bite and not realize what it was
Get lyme disease
Have fevers and night sweats
Become an insomniac
Feel very sick and painful
Have headaches
Have pain in the joints
Have electric shocks up and down the spine
Go to doctor after doctor to find out what is wrong
Have the doctors give you one pill after another
Watch your money go down the drain on doctors and pills
Have the doctors look at you like you are crazy
Have them test and find nothing
Get on the anti-depressant roller coaster
Have pain everywhere-even in places you forgot existed
Wonder why you can't walk without pain
Can't function on all the pills, lyme fuzziness, inability to walk
Wonder why you can't sleep
Forgot that you wanted to sleep
Take pills to sleep
Lose your job
Lost your health
Lose your spouse
Lose your house
Lose your insurance
Completely lose who you were
Can't believe this has happened
Forget you even thought you couldn't believe this has happened
Then just sit and wonder what happened, because,
You can't remember anything
You can't sleep
Staying up all night
Start to throw away one pill at a time because you can't afford it,
Realize that the pills had just been making everything worse
Muddle through without pills
Looking for other pills that might make it better
Looking for spiritual cures
Looking for natural cures
Live with the pain
Live with the emotions that all this has brought
Give up
Get up and forgot you had given up
Go in circles trying to figure out what to do next
Sit around and hurt and ponder what this all is about
Forget what you were wondering about
Take a natural pill that makes you nuts
Have your family pity you or ignore you cause you act strange
Sit and wonder why no one wants to be around you
Sit and wonder again what happened
Forget what you were wondering about
Take a natural pill that makes you better
Get up and start a new life
Forget that you started a new life
Can't pay for the natural pills that help
Live moment by moment
Trying to ignore the pain
Sit and wonder what happened that made you this way
Think you know that answers
Forget you know the answers
Talk to people on the net about their lyme disease
Forget what you were talking about
Think you are better
Forget that you thought you were better
Try to remember things
All the past appears as a blur
Start a new life....

You put so strongly into words what so many of us feel.

You seem to have a talent for it.

Are you a writer Big S..... or just feeling the topic deeply tonight?

Very touching post.

Thanks for sharing it.

And to answer your question... I've been there and many times felt I had no hope and wanted a better place to be, but I've always seen the light.

True, it takes time, but it will come.

Have you had good days intermixed with the bad?

I do hope so.

Wow..........beautifully written thoughts that you could have plucked straight from my brain.

Very powerful.

I love how you made sense of what DOESN'T make sense to most of us.

Thank you for posting it. You have a way with words.........keep writing..........it's very therapeutic.

Take care of yourself & remember that every day is a different day. Do the best you can with what you've got.

i've been thinking about how there should be a site just dedicated to Lyme quotes- since so many of us lose the ability to be articulate and write well and others sometimes put into words the common experience of this hell.

this one is really good.

Very poetic, bigstan!

Now instead of trying to explain this illness to people I can just hand them your checklist [Smile]

Amazing...I think so many of us think all of these things but seeing it so well-articulated is just pretty intense.

Thanks for that, I sent it on to a few friends who I know will appreciate it. You should publish it. Awesome. Julie

I have always been here
I have always looked out from behind these eyes
It feels like more than a lifetime
Feels like more than a lifetime
Sometimes I get tired of the waiting
Sometimes I get tired of being in here
Is this the way it has always been?
Could it ever have been different?

Do you ever get tired of the waiting?
Do you ever get tired of being in there?
Don't worry, nobody lives forever,
Nobody lives forever

I will always be in here
I will always look out from behind these eyes
It's only a lifetime
It's only a lifetime
It's only a lifetime
