Zil - Ohhhh no, I tried switching to Atenolol (my cardiologist thought it would help) a few weeks ago. That was a HUGE mistake. The Atenolol was AWFUL. My body did not like it whatsoever. My body never had any problems with the Toprol, so I am staying on that. The Atenolol made me very dizzy and lightheaded and have a stomach ache and it didn't help my tachycardia at all.
The main reason I'm on Toprol-XL is for my chronic tachycardia that I've had since I was 12. The Toprol helps that very well. I just wish it helped with the palpitations just as well too, but unfortunately it doesn't.
