My daughter tested positive for H.Pylori and has

been on Flagyl, Amox and Nexium for the past

12 days. She had been feeling really good until this morning. Nausea and some pain lower in

the GI has returned. I can't stand this anymore!

Good for 10 days and now this again! I was

really hoping it was the H Pylori causing her

problems but it doesnt appear that way.

Could this be still lyme or parasites or yeast

I don't know what else to do! All of a sudden

in the past 10 minutes her head feels a little

dizzy, her nose is running and she is starting

to feel like crap again. UGGGG!

Do you think it's symptoms returning, or do you think it's possible she caught a bug? Sometimes we assume it's Lyme and it ends up being the flu.

It could be parasites, Lyme, bartonella, yeast ... really anything. GI symptoms were very bad for me. I did several rounds of Humaworm. Enula also helped for parasites.

I eat a lot of fermented foods to help with digestion and to build up good intestinal flora. Also, since she's on abx, she should be taking lots of probiotics. I needed VSL#3 when I took abx because it has 450 billion microorganisms.

I'm sorry she's feeling so bad. Keep plugging away, she can get better.

Thanks Six,

She appears to just keep flaring...I was just

hoping the H Pylori was what was giving her

the problem but I think we have to keep digging

around for more answers.

Thanks for responding

Deb133,

I have had the WORST of the WORST GI issues back before i started treatment in March.

I was diagnosed with H Pylori as well. Does your daughter have lyme or any co-infections?

Heres what i went through

I have severe neuro MS symptoms and all would flare everytime i ate.

When i ate
Extreme bloating.
Belching
Gas
Stomach making rigid noises
I was not digesting food i think my stomach would not empty.
Dirreah
Constipation
My stomach was so closely related with lyme symptoms.

I was Rx for Prevpac. Contains Amoxy, biaxin and prevacid. I think a week later i started to feel the kick. I didn't take the prepac as prescribed i took one dose a day and took for a month and not all of my symptoms were gone but to a point that i could eat again.

I had lost 20lbs in 3 months cause of that! I seriously think if i have lyme and co it's that causing my GI issues and now i was tested negative for h pylori!

However i still have stomach issues. Constipation dirrea, gas bloating BUT nothing like what i had before NOTHING!

Now i have my MS symptoms on rage.

I think it's all related.

Taking those meds will help her trust me! I almost died not eating!

--------------------
May God Bless you, answer your prayers, relieve you of your pain and make you stronger than what you are today. Ameen.

I'd say YEAST (but I'm not doctor) . She still staying carb free? No sugars?? This was my EXACT syndrome every time I had dinner. It only cleared up when I was put on Diflucan for a few months. It's not always the Lyme.

Hope she feels better.

Thanks Guys!

We go back to the LLMD next Wednesday and I am hoping he will treat for yeast as a precaution.

Heck..I wouldnt mind if he treated for parasites at some point as well..maybe when she is on

a school break like Thanksgiving.

She has NOT been staying as carb free and sugar free as I would like...15 years old...need I say more..
but is usually very dilgient about everything else.

It seemed like the flagyl, amox and nexium kicked in almost immediately...but now I am wondering

if that was just co-incidence as here we are again

with the pain, the gurgling, the major nausea, no

diahrrea but bloating and a little gassy. I will

take everybodys advice that responded..and we

also can't rule out Bartonella although she was pretty symptom free for about 3 months over the

summer. I am still wondering if the tetanus/pertussis vaccine didnt jump start all this.

Thanks!

Looks as though there is no treatment for this? It is interesting. The symptoms mimic Lyme and Co's. I would be interested to know if anyone has treated this successfully.

I have a question for those of you who have H. Pylori?

Did you find out through having an upper endoscopy done?

My daughter had a blood test. Some people have had an endoscopy but you don't have to.

After treating the infection for two weeks with Flagyl, Amoxy and Nexium she is better but

not perfect so there is more going on...now we are

back to treating for Bartonella.

Good luck,

Deb G

jenny76~ Yes, the symptoms for enterovirus are very similar to lyme, that is why it is so important to get tested for several different viruses, in addition to lyme and treat what is most obviously wrong.

Oxymatrine (a chinese herb) is what is used to treat enterovirus. I *think* I'll be able to direct you to a website in the future with that info. For now:
http://www.equilibranthealth.com/product.php

White Tiger also makes a oxymatrine product.

I know three people (me included) who have benefited from oxymatrine.

Don't just take it, but get tested at ARUP lab to see if enterovirus is a problem or not first:
http://www.enterovirusfoundation.org/chronicinfections.shtml

Thanks for the info Deb. I am always curious as to what other people are told regarding detection of H pylori. I have been told by my GI doc that a blood test was not accurate for detecting H pylori and that he would need to scope me again(3rd scope). I didn't do it, mainly for cost reasons.

I really hope your daughter gets relief. Good luck to you both! [Smile]

Is she on Nystatin or Diflucan?

I take N. 4 times a day and Creon for the bowels.

I have not had any problems other than abdominal

lymph. In fact since I started treatment I got rid

of diarrhea I had for over a year. Hope she finds

some relief. Also maybe switching to gluten free

for a while to see if it helps.

Massman - is there anybody you could suggest as

far as a natural health pro?

Pinelady - she is not on Nystatin or Dif although

I did talk to LLMD last Wed at length concerning

yeast. He didn't feel right now that there was

any problem where that was concerned. I also

asked about parasites and he said it certainly

wouldn't hurt to do a parasite cleanse so I think
over Christmas break we may try that.

I would lOVE for her to ease up on the Gluten...easier

said than done for a 15 year old teen. The

reason he is suspecting Bartonella is she has had

red stretch mark looking lines since we have

started treating for Lyme last January..

As far as the blood test checking for H Pylori..I

read several places where this is one of the 4 ways to check for H Pylori..hmm so I don't know.

Anyway..as always thanks for the much needed advice...

Hi, Deb. My heart is breaking for you right now. I bet this is the yeast beast. Since starting with my new LLMD, I am on the VSL#3 that six has mentioned, along with a very strict diet. Yeast was a problem for me and one of the reasons I switched Drs. I think the VSL is starting to make a difference. Maybe you can look into that.

It never ****ing ends.

I am sorry. I know what you have been through.

You don't need to be carb free, that is very unhealthy. I eat fruit, oatmeal, buckwheat, red potatoes most days of the week and have not had yeast issues.

What probiotics does she take? I like Body Biotics and Jarrow Dophilus EPS.

Artemisinin with Doxy/Biaxin.

Let me clarify "strict". I have oatmeal with blueberries everyday for breakfast, eat some fruit...not much of the really sugary stuff, and have yams, or occasionally some pototoes and sometimes some sourdough toast.

Well ok, I confess, the other day I had 7 Tator Tots.

Thanks daphnesmaon and Richedie...acutally I have been doing alot of reading on Jarrow Dophilus and

I believe there is a place that sells it right here in my town...right now she takes a product

by Nutrition NOW called Pro-Biotics Acidophilus which is a blend and has about 14 billion good

bacteria per capsule. I bought it in a local

health food store. She takes two a day. Perhaps

this hasnt been enough.

Deb...maybe what she is taking isn't enough. She has been on alot of abx.

Make sure you ask the dr about the VSL. Strong stuff...I had to ramp it up, and only take one cap a day mixed in yogurt.

ok thanks I will....we go back in 2 weeks...her stomach was great in school today and she hasn't taken any antibiotics since last evening...I let

her have a teeny break to see how she would feel

as she was quite nauseous last night after

taking them. I'm wondering if the HH capsules she just started Friday night has anything to

do with this right now. Because for almost 2

weeks she was feeling pretty good...also

he upped her Amoxy to 3000 mg...and added in Tindamax.

You have to be strict on refined things like white bread, garbage french fries(although tasty!), sugar, white rice, etc. She should try to stay with as intact whole grains as possible, not refined or processed. If I do bread once in a while, I do sprouted grain. Does she have Babesia? That caused me nausea as do other TBIs.

Careful with probiotics. I saw a study where they tested 10 popular probiotics and only a few had what they claim! Body Biotics was one and I think Jarrow EPS was conidered a good one.

Thanks richedie...going to pick up some tomorrow....WC he was treating her with Flagyl, Amoxicillin and Nexium for about 3 weeks for the H Pylori...

He just switched the Flagyl to Tindamax and increased the Amoxicillin and then wanted her to try HH for the suspected Bartonella

She was bit again 3 weeks ago and I am wondering if this is why he upped the Amoxy from 1000 mg
to 3000 mg? Since he did that...her bite mark went from

red to almost completely gone in a few days. Maybe that was

just co-incidence? She now has very few lyme

symptoms left...an occassional knee pain but thats

been about it...no flareups in weeks...have my

fingers crossed...
