My daughter and son both have high levels of H Pylori. My daughter has also high levels of clostridia.
Two options for H Pylori:
Amoxicillin and Biaxin Flagyl and Biaxin
Since my daughter has clostridia, one MD wants to use flagyl for 14 days with biaxin. My daughter also has lyme which has not been very symptomatic since 4 months on abx a year ago followed by months of homeopathy and some herbs.
Second MD is concerned the flagyl will actually cause more problems since we are not wanting to touch the lyme so to speak. I am getting that the flagyl not only kills cysts but can disrupt them and open them??? So she thinks go with amox and biaxin and follow with something like vancomycin to address clostridia.
Any thoughts about flagyl with kids with lyme who are functioning fine and you dont want to upset the terrain, so to speak??
Thank you!

Thanks you two. Sometimes I wish I had a direct line to God. Flagyl messed me up big time. I may just go with my fears on this one.. ??

I just started Flagyl less than a week ago, and mild side effects so far at 500 mg per day.
I have severe GI upset, and go #2 about 10-12 times per day. It could be side effects or can hitting your body with tons of abx simultaneously cause just severe poo'ing?
I read that Flagyl is a very powerful abx for treating C. Diff whereas other abx's are more likely to cause it. Plus Flagyl fights the Lyme.
Win-Win in my opinion.
My friend's young son had no herxing at all from Flagyl. It's different for everybody i guess.
