Topic: Anyone start feeling worse from their methyl B12 injections?

I am wondering what this means. B12 helps detox. So am I moving toxins too quickly? Could I be mobilizing metals?
Or is my body just saying enough is enough with all these supplements?
The methyl B12 shots (preservative free) used to help me sometimes...nothing miraculous, but I would notice my thinking was clearer and my personality was more lively the day of doing one.
Now, I've noticed every day I do one is a bad day (try to do at least 3 per week). It's like they are making me tired or something, like they are sucking health from me.
Anyone have this? What could be the reason?

methylated form draws out heavy metals? You deplete other B vitamins? ( taking only one form of B may unbalance the other ones, like b6 , b1 etc)

The methyl is not good for people with metals, I have read, it can react with metals. I have no idea but I got sick and can only take regular B 12.

Honestly your methylation is probably off and you can't handle it.

hmmm...so what should I actually do about it? What do people take for these problems?
I mean, even if I stop taking the B12 shots, shouldn't I fix the methylation problem? Or can I just not bother, and just avoid certain things?
I tried those 5 supplements that is the "simplified protocol" for lifting the mehtylation block (by Rich something or other, based on Amy Yasko's stuff), and I didn't have a "herx" or anything that is supposed to happen as the block is lifted. Didn't notice too much improvement either.
I looked into those issues awhile ago, but finally decided it was seeming too complicated for me.
So where do I start? The whole thing seems very daunting.

If you have a methylation problem you should fix it. According to Yasko, it's like having diabetes and not treating it. Probably depends on the specific problem though.
If you didn't have a reaction to the simplified protocol, I'd question that you have a problem. Did you take the exact recommended supplements?

With certain methylation mutations you can end up with too many methyl groups so methyl b12 is not recommended in that case. This is for COMT mutations. As far as I know, the side effects would be mood swings, panic attacks and bi-polar mood disorder. I don't know if there are other symptoms associated with this or not.
After checking with your doctor, if nothing else seems apparent perhaps try changing to another active form of b12 like dibencozide or hydroxocobalamin (perque activated b-12).
If you still have side effects then maybe you shouldn't be taking extra b-12?

I have gotten really confused by this subject of blocks..
Does anyone have as resource that simplifies what this is and how it is remedied?

Have you done an archive search? It's been discussed here a number of times.

lymebytes,
I am on Bicillin right now. And I wasn't before, but was on the methylB12 shots. WEIRD! I wonder if there IS something going on with that. I wonder what it could possibly be?!?!
TerryK,
Thank you so much for the info!
At first, when I started seeing my current LLMD, I was so convinced I had methylation problems that I was sure he'd refer me to someone to get that tested/treated.
But then when I realized that the Simplified Protocol for lifting Methylation blocks wasn't doing much, I started to question if it was an issue.
Is it possible that my methylation issues are so complex (or just not included in the Simplified protocol) that the Simplified Protocol (the 5 supplements) just didn't affect anything, and I would have needed other measures, more "digging deeper" to see anything happen?
Hope that question makes sense.
I certainly hope not...I'm hoping I just don't have any issues there. That would indeed be a stroke of luck considering I typically test in the "I've got bad news" category when I get blood/urine, etc tested for anything.
Thanks again!

Has anyone done the TESTING and or Protocol? And what were the results?
I see the link on that site leads you to where to buy the items for the protocol and the test costs 495..
Will do some searching here too to see if there are older posts of peoples experiences...
Thanks
Hope you figure it out Hoos... Looks like your saying you tried the simplified protocol with not affect? Did go through the testing or just went onto try the simplified to see if it would help you?
THANks for any information and feedback.

PS
I read this answer when someone asked how long it takes to see progress on the simple program.
"For most of the few people who've stuck with the treatment so far, it seems to be a year or more before they achieve that level of improvement, if they have have been ill for a few years. But we really don't have enough cases yet to get reliable averages."

I just went through the Simplified Protocol to see if it would help me, no testing done.
I didn't "herx" at all, despite the warnings that people need to ramp up slowly, etc.
I might have felt a little bit better on it, from the extra B vitamins in the 5 supplements, but it didn't seem to be anything like, "wow, this is a missing piece of the puzzle."
I'm not really sure what kind of a reaction my LLMD was looking for when he suggested I do the Simplified Protocol. I may ask him when I see him again.
Lots of other things have popped up throughout the course of treatment, so whether or not methylation is an issue was put on the back-burner. Though I don't understand any of it well at all.
I am hoping to either look through some more stuff about this online, or talk to my doctor about it, but I have been scattered lately, lots going on during the holidays....just trying to keep my head above water (as in, not get too run down physically) with family coming in and out, etc.
