I posted last week about my subdural hematoma without trauma (thanks to those that replied).
Since then I sort of looked into brain atrophy causes (one of the ways a SDH can occur w/o trauma) and read that infectious diseases such as neuro syphilus AIDS, dementia, Alziemers, and stroke (which I had in 2007 and recovered from) are some of the causes.
I also read on one of the neuro Lyme Sites (I think DR. Y in NYC studies) that they use MRI and SPECT scans to among other things check for brain atrophy which can occur in LD. MRI may appear normal in early progression.
Last night I had a dream about falling down the stairs had a full body violent jerk and fell off my bed. Did not hurt myself or hit my head although my hip is a little sore. This AM while resting on the couch I had frequent jerking of arm or leg (one at a time).
Yesterday AM I walked upstairs to bathroom and noticed my lips were really blue. I didn't have shortness of breath but did feel the need to take a couple of deep breaths.
This am my tonge was blue and just a little on my lips. Now is better.
Any one have any ideas about this stuff?
A home health nurse is suppose to be coming soon to check me out

Deb,
Are you in treatment now with an llmd? It sure sounds to me, based on all I know about lyme, that treatment with antibiotics can halt the neurological progression of the disease.
Sorry that I do not know about subdural hematoma. But I would want to get to an llmd and maybe consider starting on something like the Buhner herbal protocol (resveratrol, andrographis, etc.) before seeing the doctor. Can you do that?
Wishing you wellness and health too! You are in my prayers.

deb,
While I am not able to relate to or address your 'blueness' tongue and lips...I say that anything is posssible with this horrific illness.
As to the atrophy, it is cited in neuro syphillis which, you know, is a spirochetal illness like lyme....so it would stand to reason that lyme [could] cause brain atrophy as well.
I have fallen out of bed before dreaming that I was very ill and then in fact, the next day became very ill...odd, yes. Related to this illness, who really knows.
I am responding with no real experience or answers to your questions, but with great concern and empathy for your situation.
Wishing you healing... and HOPING that you are recieving treatment for TBI's

It is known that Lyme effects the organs and nervous system. So, having brain, heart, lungs issues would follow. Please find a LLMD.
