increased cortisol -> increased T4 conversion to reverse T3
increased rT3 -> blocks normal T3
blocked normal T3 -> low body temp
so, get your rT3 tested if you have not already

- I don't think there are lab tests that actually can tell us all we need to know about adrenal stress from lyme so be sure to continue good adrenal support - always.
Weight gain issues are very common with lyme and some other stealth infections. Adrenal stress is part of that.
You might look at a book and links just posted over at this thread:

Keebler - I actually did see that thread but I saw it before you posted all of those links. I need to check those out.
Massman - Some days are good enough that I can go run errands, other days, the couch is the best place.
I used to be very physically active prior to starting abx. Ever since starting abx, it has just kicked my butt.

Get rT3 checked. if it is high (which it most likely will be)... start supporting your adrenals and see if your thyroid output won't reset.
(May take minimum 120 days...)

My temp was 95 - 97.5 for two years and all my test always came back fine so they never put me on any meds.
For no reason what so ever about a month ago my temp has been 97.7 all day and night??? But I still feel the same.
I'll tell you this...I'm still as cold as ever even through my temp went up to 97.7
I just don't get it???

I will ask about getting rT3 checked at my appt. Thanks for the info!
I did a search, and maybe its bc I have a bad headache today and focus issues, but I cannot find what most people take to help with adrenal fatigue?

suppose she is massman and it is inter-related. adrenal support is very important to find out its role in a slowed metabolism. Along with vitamin k2 deficiency, I believe is the root of many metabolic issues. metabolism efficiency starts with the health of bones. if bones aren't getting enough calcium, then metabolism suffers. The body also gets a healthy dose of free floating calcium.
First I'll start out by saying your bones are part of your endocrine system along with thyroid, hpa axis... What this means is the ABX we take need to also be supplemented with vitamin k2, because you are killing the friendly bacteria that actually support bone health by creating k2.
If you don't get enough k2 in your food, you might not have enough bacteria in your gut to convert k1 from veggies to k2. I posted 3 articles, the first explains the new science of why bone health is sooooo important. The second is research showing relationship between bone health and metabolism. The third is information from Dr. Weston Price in 1900 about activator x which he studied and observed more extensibly then any researcher. His viewpoints put things in great perspective.

I cant believe that all these years Ive had a low "normal" body temp. I had NO idea...I just thought it was something people had. Looking back I do remember as a child having a "normal" 98.6 temp but for as long as I can remember as an adult my tmep would be 97.6????
Oh course now, learning what I have I am certain I've been infected for years....
Had no idea about the temp thing though..go figure!!!
As for adrenal support my LLMD has me taking several things:
Adreno Distress Guuard by Perque Adrenal Essance bu Xymogen and DHEA by Prothera----not really sure what this is (I just strated this one) but he has written down that it is adrenal hormone??
