Hi guys,
About once a month I wake up at night with what I call an anal spasm--kind of like you want to have a BM--sometimes I do sometimes I don't.

Very very painful. Any solution? Did a search here and nothing came up.

Anyone? thanks.

Severe neurological problems. Probably sick for years. Became chronically sick in Aug 2007. Undiagnosed for another 15 months. Started treatment for lyme and bart Sept. 2008. Improving, but very slowly.

I get them sometimes after a BM, sometimes so painful that I have to go lie down till it passes.

I haven't found anything yet that helps it, just hoping it goes away with treatment.

Starfall, thats exactly what I get. It can be very painful, but for me it usually passes in a few minutes.

Never heard of anal spasms. But reading this I now know what those spasms are that wake me up sometimes at night.

Thank goodness they don't happen often. I'm able to got back to sleep after trying to go. I've often wondered why there is no BM when the sensation is painful enough to wake me up.

I remember wondering at one time if it was some type of parasite or creature? The weird stuff that happens to us? [Eek!] [Eek!]

Magnesium can help nearly any kind of spasm. Maybe your dose is not high enough or you need a different type.

You are taking magnesium, right? It's vital. Calcium, too.

this helps immediately:

put it close to your bed, so you do not have to get up.
No prescription, you can get them at vitamin shops....or online at 1 800 homeopathy about $7-8 each

Magnesium phosphoricum 30C
Colocynth 30C

take three pellets of each immediately under the tongue.
You can repeat after 10 minutes if necessary
and again.

If you dissolve it on a plastic spoon with warm water ( not hot) it should work even faster.

If you need to save money try if the magnesium does the job alone.

It really works.
