Could it be yeast?

I was thinking yeast, or a possible vitamin deficiency.
Any other thoughts?

Yes, yes, yes. For me, burning, numb, feels almost swollen sometimes - always something with my tongue (not to mention too much saliva sometimes). Even the saliva issue I have attributed to neuro-type dysfunction - like people with severe neuro problems who drool. This is just my hunch....for me.
This was one of my first symptoms along with so many others - well before diagnosis and abx. I think, for me, it is cranial nerve dysfunction due to Lyme and company.
I still have this to some degree, every day, up and down....just my experience. My strategy for improvement is just trying to get the infections under control with abx...time will tell, I guess. I hope your symptoms improve. TS

Don't have burning, but numbness always when lying. Definitely is swollen as there are indentations of teeth on sides of tongue. I know that can indicate cardiac stuff. BUT, I'm on lyrica (400mg) and than can cause it.

I get so sick and tired of this symptom. My tongue feels like I had some hot salsa 24/7. I started on artemesia and for the first time in a couple of years I actually did not have my burning tongue. It is still improved afer 2 wks.
I was told reflux and tried everything which did not help.

- Andrographis saved my life. WIth burning mouth for over four straight years, I was near the end of my rope.
A few months after starting andrographis and getting up to full dose, this disappeared. I could not afford any other the other supplements in this protocol so I know it was andrographis.
After 14 months, I stopped it. A month later, it was back, full force. It's taken a couple weeks to subside again and I'm very grated.
As outlined in Buhner's "Healing Lyme" book. In Europe, there is an andrographis gel for dental health. I started with just one capsule a day and worked up to top amount described in the book. Now, I swallow three tablets and chew one, with a touch of coconut oil and have taken to adding a touch of licorice extract to balance the bitterness of andrographis.

Burning mouth can also be nerve damage. Lyme is notable for attacking cranial nerves. More here about that:

Thanks everyone. I am going to see my llmd on Monday and I am going to ask him to run every test possible. I just can't stand this anymore.

A burning tongue (the tip of it) has been an on-going symptom of mine. At it's worst a few yers ago, it burned and prickled continuously.
Now, after a year+ of treatment it is only intermitant and much better.
My LLMD said he had another Lyme patient who also had the same feeling.
Zil in a post above likened the sensation to hot salsa on the tongue. I always describe mine almost the same way. I say it is like hot sauce.
