When I called a month ago, they were more than willing to make an appt. I needed to wait until my husband could take time off work.
Today, the lady said Dr. J did not like to see out-of-town patients if you live more than 2-1/2 hours away. She said patients are required to make monthly visits. I thought it was every 2 months. Anyway, she took my name and location and said she would ask Dr. J.
It doesn't sound promising. I have not heard back from them.

Maybe they are changing things because of their recent move this year?
My son sees him every 4 months (actually next time it will be 6 months) but he's doing well now. And we live 8 hours away. However, when my son started seeing him he was only 2.5 hours away.

I think she is talking about "LymeMD" aka Dr. J.
Jennie, give them a call tomorrow. Tell them you're dedicated to the process, and you'll do what it takes to follow protocol.

Hey, that's not true about lyme patients not being profitable.
He's swamped and I was told he's taking new patients on a case by case basis.
I see him and don't have insurance. As of June1st, he takes mine.
Jennie, call him and plead your case.

He's awesome and found my babs when the other llmd missed it.
I'm sure it will take a while to get rid of the babs,,but at least on treatment for it.

Migs,
Your mailbox is full.
Will you please let me know how you got Dr. J to see you? Did they ask your location?
You can PM me if you want.

I called his office a few times with various inquiries before I finally made an appointment (it took me a while to line up the financial resources to afford another doctor). Anyway, they mentioned the 'we are just a family practice, we discourage out-of-state patients' issue to me. I just brushed it off and told them that I have a lot of friends in the area (true) and that it's no problem to travel there. If you have family in the area it may be helpful to mention that, too.

This is my doc and I'm making progress. When I started with him, appointments were easy to get only a few days out. Now I have to call further in advance, so I think he is busier.
Definitely worth seeing him, making the commitment, etc. Have you thought of writing him a letter?
