I found my dose at 100mg and yes it helps my overall mood, which includes not crying anymore. I think the OCD part is what many have here. I don't think it's a true OCD, but when your symptoms are nagging at you 24/7, how can you not think about it all ?
Be careful with Lamictal as at 200mg, it was too much for me and I was having god awful night terrors and I could feel it was just too much. 100mg is my dose, no more, no less.

You could have a mood disorder, since crying could actually be considered depressed, (or its just part of the illness). Either way.....if you cry and then go back to normal, back and forth, that is considered a mild mood disorder.
I was diagnosed with cyclothymia, a milder form of bipolar. I also have what feels like OCD, but agree with lymetwister that its not true OCD. Its easy to get caught up in thinking about everything you are going through until it over takes your mind.
I am on day 11 of Lamictal so can't give a good assessment of it yet. However, I can say that I don't feel any worse and maybe even slightly less moody.

Not moody, just don't feel like myself. Don't know who, but not myself. Sick stuff.

Not feeling yourself is coming from your brain. Lamical will help depending on which part of your brain is affected. Besides mood disorder it is beginning to help me with obsessive thoughts.
Have you ever had a spec scan? Any brain chemistry issues should show up on that. It might be something to think about.
How long have you been on lamictal now? Have you felt any improvement at all? It takes time for any psych med to start to help.
