I've been on treatment for almost 4 weeks. The fatigue is 30% better, but the pain in my joints is worse. First it was the left elbow, then it spread down my arm, then up my arm. Now my left shin is hurting a little & I found a knot at the very top, right below the knee!

I feel like crying. I should be getting better. It feels like my left arm is sore all the time. I can't lift some things with it.

I'm tired of soaking in epsom salt soaks, even thought it makes me feel better. I'm tired of working. I haven't missed a day since I started treatment....even when I felt bad!

I'm ready to break down & get some anti-anxiety meds. I just cannot cope anymore. And now I have this knot on my shin. I'm tired of looking & reading about so many treatments & detox stuff. I can't take it all in....it's overwhelming. I don't know what to do next, I'm just plain tired.

Whatever.........

You said you've been treating for four weeks?

My Lyme symptoms cycled and I herxed about every 30-32 days.

I treated for over two years straight before really feeling like I was better.

Of course I had co-infections like babesia and bartonella too.

Knots on the shin bone (nodules) can be related to bartonella.

Sometimes when you treat one disease, other symptoms from co-infections surface.

Hang in there.

Call your LLMD. Tell them how you are doing.

Ask about anti-anxiety meds that may help you in the interim.

It will get better.

It takes time.

Sending you prayers of support and healing.

Hugs,

Geneal

Thanks for your support. When I asked the doc about bartonella when I was on the phone with him the other day, he insisted the Doxy would take care of it. I'm at a loss. I believe I should be getting better. He said it takes about 3 months treatment for every year you have Lyme. I've only had it since early May! I know my body...I was in excellent health before. I'm just frustrated.

I don't know about the 3 month rule.

I don't know how long I had Lyme either.

Doxy will cover co-infections if you catch it really early according to my LLMD.

Still sounds like a herx to me.

Hang in there.

Hugs,

Geneal

I vote for the 3-5 wk herx cycle too! No wonder you are feeling like C***!!

I have one of those nodules on my upper shin too. Don't know how long it's been there.. have had Lyme most of my life.

The good news for you is that I didn't have bart.. so let's hope you don't either!

Doxy did not touch my bartonella and that is what it sound like. When you attack the lyme it allows the co-infections to surface and become more obvious. Your anxiety, pain in the shin, and nodule indicate a bart infection.

I would not wait for it to get worse. Look at your skin for other indications of a bart infection: pea size brown spots, loss of pigmentation, tiny "blood blisters", spider veins, stretch marks, lumps on shin bone, swelling that appears to be edema but does not leave a dent when pressed, papules, nodules that hurt when pressed but you otherwise would not know they were there. . . .

I believe looking for these changes in your skin is the best way to determine if you have bartonella.

So far I dont have any brown spots that weren't already there before I got it. Spider veins were already intact on me for years, no stretch marks, no swelling, no nodules (had a red spot for 8 weeks that finally went away after it got really big, then started turning purple, then opened it up...it bled. It's now gone).
I'll just see what happens with treatment.

I have some questions.
im new to this forum. I read what u said here:
Your anxiety, pain in the shin, and nodule indicate a bart infection.

I would not wait for it to get worse. I get shin pain but its only once or twice a month I get severe lft calf pain (deep inside the calf) and that too happens 1 time a month and last 2-3 days then i have whole bunch other stuff but for now i just listed this

my question is those symp. i listed do they sound bartonella like or something else.
can bartonella symptoms be like this

also I have little nodules all over my whole body that i was told are just lymph nodes.

i wonder if it can be normal to be like this

also i have some nodule looking knots (small) on my shin bones - u can see them.I thought it was normal bone ridges showing through because Im skinny and very white
when u say papules-what are they like? and where do they appear

Ok again I don't feel as alone regarding bumps
On my shin they are the size of bb's theres 10++ on both legs. They move if I push them side to side. If I push directly on the it hurts then I feel a burning ache for about 15-20 min. They are noduals and I'm not sure how they are attached an to what? I've had them for a couple of years.

They are not getting bigger whew.,. But there are more and more when think about checking them.
