This is going to sound totally crazy and I'm extremely embarrased even asking but I didn't know where else to turn.

Does the Lyme symptoms ever make you feel like you are in the first trimester of a pregnancy (i.e. nausea, food aversions, sensitivity to smells, dizzy spells, extreem tiredness at certain times of the day,etc.).

THe last several weeks I've felt like this and I've been off of abx since the 9th. It just keeps getting worse. Without going into details I shouldn't be pregnant so I'm looking for other explanations.

Yes. Exactly the same in many ways.

OMG! When I used to describe my symptoms to people, they'd ask, "Are you sure you're not pregnant?"

Not at all just for women. Same mix of symptoms for men and children with with lyme (&/or other TBD - tick-borne disease).

All this goes with lyme and can explain everything:

Adrenal dysfunction; Vestibular dysfunction; cardiac involvement; liver stress & MCS (multiple chemical sensitivities - problems with smells, etc.). Details below:

Yes, I use to love Hazelnut coffee and creamer but now if I even smell it I get nauseous (spell???).

And I've always compared my fatigue to when I was pregnant, it is the only time I've ever felt as exhausted as I do with Lyme.

Thanks everyone. I thought I was going crazy. I have been feeling just like I did with every one of my pregnancies down to my face breaking out. I even took a test but knew it would be negative.

I was starting to get scared then I thought about the LD. I just started a new abx so we'll see if it helps.

Thanks again.

Hahaha, I have been saying to myself that my coworkers are going to start suspecting I'm pregnant. (Except this has been going on for 9 months since I've been on doxy, LOL.)

I get nausea often in the mornings and sometimes throw up (from doxy). I sometimes feel a bit dizzy or lightheaded while walking around. My stomach gets bloated, especially if candida is flaring up. I get fatigue that usually comes on during the afternoon. And I get very stiff if I sit too long and have trouble standing up from a chair. I haven't had the food aversions, but I do get tremendous carb cravings.

Lyme definitely affects my hormones a lot. I get Lyme flares at PMS time, and my cycle comes around every 15-18 days since Lyme, instead of 28. That's not the cause of all my symptoms mentioned above, but I am sure it can make your hormones do things you don't expect them to be doing.

Don't forget to laugh! And when you're going through hell, keep going!

Bitten 5/25/2009 in Perry County, Indiana. Diagnosed by LLMD 12/2/2009.

Light: I threw up yesterday at work and didn't know why. Maybe because I was on Doxy for a few days! Mystery solved.

For most people, Doxy needs to be taken with quite a bit of food - and keep torso upright for at least one hour.

Light and St.O: if you ARE taking with food, maybe either more or different food is needed. Just avoid dairy products with it and keep it away from magnesium supplements. If that does not help, call your LLMDs for advice.

B-vitamins with too little food can cause nausea and vomiting, too. Bee Pollen also has the same effect and can cause what seems like a fast acting flu if taken on an empty stomach.

Inner ear issues (very common with lyme and coinfections) can also cause nausea and vomiting.

GINGER CAPSULES can help calm the stomach, whatever the cause.

BoxerMom. lol, every time I have a flare, my husband and friends start the "are you pregnant?" questioning.

And hubby should know better since we're no longer having sex. Yeah, sore subject there.
