My family and I are looking for a lyme literate Dr. in Iowa or the surrounding states.

My dad has had possible symptoms of chronic lyme disease the past 2 years.

He has been to three different neurologist including one at Mayo.

None of the Doctors have been able to diagnose him.

His symptoms started with stiffness of the legs and trouble walking and have recently included periodic paralysis of the arms. These are just the main symptoms.

He has had the blood test to determine if it is lyme disease and it came back negative.Although I have read these test are not very accurate. Since it came back negative the neurologist do not even consider that it may be lymes disease.

My brother was diagnosed with lyme disease about 6 years ago but his was caught in the early stages as he had the bulls eye rash.

I would greatly appreciate any advice on the process of finding a lyme literate dr and a list of Doctors in Iowa or surrounding states.

Thank you for your help!

Does this mean you do not know of any llmd's in Iowa?

I have already tried a support group based in Iowa and they did not get back to me.

Personally I don't know of any.

There is Dr C in missouri, Lymetoo's LLMD

Did you try a nearby state?

Wisconsin?

If you have already tried IowaLyme at http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/iowalyme and no one responded, you can try again (the group is small) and you should also contact the LDA of Greater Kansas City. http://www.lymefight.info/
