I live north of Philadelphia and am looking for a LLMD to urgently treat a recent tick bite. None of my MD's are willing to treat me.
Thank you for your time, Jared

I sent you a private message with info for PA.

It is really far better to get doctor referrals from people rather than from organizations.
I know how some of the organizations work. They don't know the doctors at all. Any doctor can say they treat lyme and begin having their name sent out to people.
With this disease, it really pays to find out if the doctor is good or not. Getting a referral from an organization doesn't tell you how good the doctor is at all.
Many doctors treat lyme, but only a few know enough to get rid of it for a person. You want to find one of those few.
I think contacting your state lyme support groups is a much better way of getting the names of good lyme doctors. Just click on Support Groups on the left side of the page.
From what I know about Pa. doctors, there are 2 excellent ones in eastern PA. The wait to get in with one is 10 months and the wait to get in with the other is 1 year.
So, when you contact the support groups, see if they know of any "lyme friendly" doctors who can help you with a recent tick bite. A lyme friendly doctor doesn't know enough to be called a lyme doctor, but they believe in treating lyme with long-term antibiotics. They usually also take insurance, where lyme doctors don't.
This is what you have to do for treatment of a recent bite. If you are willing to travel, there is a great lyme doc in D.C., but the wait to get in is 8 weeks. Just keep that in mind if you find you need more than the lyme friendly doctor I hope you can find to help you right away.
