Hi, I was bitten by a nymphal tick July 3rd and am already showing symptoms (of which I'm painfully aware). Does anyone know of a Lyme literate doctor in Texas specifically Austin or San Antonio? Thanks!

You may want to consider requesting immediate pre-testing treatment from your family doc. In one area I know (not TX), the family doc prescribes this for any tick bite.
The document below mentions several possibilities of abx, but the experiences I have heard from others often mention oral doxycycline for immediate treatment.
Excerpt: "First-line drug therapies for Lyme disease may include (in alphabetical order): oral amoxicillin, azithromycin, cefuroxime, clarithromycin, doxycycline and tetracycline. These antibiotics have similar favorable results in comparative trials of early Lyme disease."
Time is of the essence when you have just been bitten - someone correct me if this is wrong.

I also live in central Texas. I am prepared to travel but would like someone to give me information about which doctors are closest. I read in an earlier post on this website that there is at least one in the Dallas /ft. Worth area? Also, on a different website, there was a reference to an llmd in the Woodlands which is north of Houston. Does anyone know who those physicians are? I tested positive and was treated for Lyme 7 years ago but I am flat on my back re-experiencing most of the same symptoms and the mds who treated me before are no longer around........ Any help finding knowledgeable help would be appreciated!!!

Probably good to start a new post in Seeking A Doctor to make sure people see your post Tree
