The Tick-Borne Illness Center of Excellence has come to the rescue. To receive specialty care for tickborne illnesses has required significant travel. Now we have a center specializing in tick-borne illnesses right in the heart of the Midwest. Located in the beautiful Northwoods of Wisconsin, the Center opened its doors to chronically ill patients on the waiting list last September and is now ready to accept new patients. Hi, This is Mike from the WI. Lyme Yahoo group. I haven't posted here in years but wanted to post about the new lyme clinic in Woodruff, WI. First of all, I still see some familiar names here so long time no see.
WI. has made many strides over the years in fighting tick-borne illness and the lyme clinic is the culmination of that.
The Waite family and others were instrumental in getting this off the ground. The lyme clinic is located at Howard Young Medical Center in Woodruff, WI. It's attached to a 90 bed hospital.
Past ILADS president Dr. Shor teleconferences in with all patients as our NP is on site to administer his treatment orders. Right now, the office has several hundred patients but is expanding it's patient load and will bring in new ILADS trained providers as patient load warrants.
This is an exciting venture, one that could be a huge boon to the lyme community as this may be the only lyme clinic I know of attached to a hospital.

They do not take insurance at this time but that is definitely being discussed. They're also working on a foundation for indigent patients.
If I recall the first visit is about $400-$450, around there, but it's very thorough with Dr. Shor. Subsequent visits were about $250 I think.
Thank you for the kind regards on my son. His big issue was babesia, once that was addressed, everything else fell in line.

It was a shock to me when I found out I had Lyme disease. A week before I started to feel sick, we went to a campsite, I think that's where I got tick bites. I'm glad we quickly turned to the Tick-Borne Illness Center of Excellence. They quickly diagnosed me and gave me an effective treatment. I already feel good, but I want to advise others to see a doctor immediately because Lyme disease is serious. Regarding medical insurance. I had some problems with it, and I really wish that patients with such diseases would be offered free treatments in the future because there are many persons from disadvantaged families. This company https://www.iinsight.biz/, helped me with medical insurance. They also organized a rehabilitation period for me at one of the best clinics.
Thank you for posting your experience with the new Lyme Treatment Center in WI and glad it is helping. I agree it is a shame that people suffering with any type of disease should not have to worry about getting treatment because of not having insurance. Are they taking insurance now?
I would highly recommend you acquaint yourself with Dr. B's Guidelines, the "gold standard" for Lyme treatment.
Read the books written by the top LLMD, Dr. H, titled, "Why Can't I Get Better?" and "How Can I Get Better?". They are an excellent source of information.
Also read "Cure Unknown" by Pamela Weintraub. Get it at your local library or buy them used online.
Btw - I know you are new to Lymenet, but please break up your posts into 2-3 sentence paragraphs, as there are people on Lymenet who cannot read large blocks of text due to neurological problems from Lyme.

I am glad to hear that new centers are opening for the treatment of tick-borne diseases.I was diagnosed with Lyme disease four years ago. I was at significant risk of knee joint damage. I searched for a long time for a good clinic, and a colleague advised me to go to cameronmch.com . I made an appointment, had a thorough diagnosis, underwent a course of treatment, and now go to the doctor every six months to assess the condition of my knees. I feel good now, but I wish I had gotten all the information about Lyme disease right away. I want more people to know that it is possible to continue living a whole life after treatment.

Thanks for sharing this fantastic news. In fact, there are many diseases that people don't even suspect until they come across in person. More than that, ticks are carriers of many infections that pose a danger to human health. I ran into this problem myself some years ago. I got hearing problems due to bed mites that lived in our pillows. I asked for help from a hearing clinic near me , and fortunately, they helped me. I had to undergo several courses of treatment, and besides, I had to change all the pillows in the house. But most importantly, it really helped.

Uhh, ticks are really dangerous especially in spring time. In the spring every person wants to go for some walks in the forests or on the plains, but this activity is one of the most dangerous, especially when there are a lot of ticks that can infect you. I've had to stay in the hospital for more than a month, to my great happiness there are chiropractor, Baltimore plus clinics of your kind that managed to save me. Even more important is that infections after being bitten by a tick can have even greater compications, so you have to be enormously careful when doing a treatment.
