I've been lurking around lymenet for quite some time and finally got brave enough to post. I've had lyme & coinfections since I was a kid and it just sucks. I don't know what's worse, being misdiagnosed for 44 years, or the treatment itself? I see a llmd in MO and he is pretty awesome. He is always encouraging and tells me to never give up but I wonder if I'll ever regain my health?
So far my husband and 2 of my 4 kids were diagnosed and are taking antibiotics. They're all doing better than I am but I'm not complaining about that. Nothing worse than seeing your loved ones so sick.
Thought I'd stop in and say hi and I hope you have a good day.

Welcome, your nickname is what happened to the majority of us! You've got a good LLMD I see.
I'll copy/paste my newbie links here. I recently LOST them all, so am recreating by taking bits & pieces here & there. Therefore, there is a LOT OF UNDERLINING that was NOT in my original stuff. I just don't have time to get rid of it all. ok. Funny; it didn't show up below but does on my pc!
Welcome to this 24/7 LYME support group board! Here's TREEPATROL's and Tincup's combination newbie links.
Print off the links then check them off as you read as you could spend several months reading all of this.
print & read Dr. Burrascono's 2005 info first; you will come back to this often.
Extensive info in Treepatrol''s newbie links about the meaning of WESTERN BLOT IGM/IGG test results from Igenex! Be sure to read or print this info IF Igenex tested you ok!
Also, see Cheryl''s extensive web sites on: LD DIAGNOSIS, SYMPTOMS, & TREATMENT ... wonderful! Read the area on CO-INFECTIONS! You could have from 1-12 other illnesses that tick is carrying...lyme, malaria, etc.
If you are showing symptoms of co-infections, I would like to suggest being tested for co-infections when you have LYME western blots done. It isn''t cheap!! But if you are positive, you can treat the co-infections first, and then work on LYME symptoms.
You will need 2% amber and 10% amber ... Style no. 901 and 910.1-800-521-9746 TOLL- FREE
mention you have lyme and marshall protocol, they will give you 20% off!
Also they have been kind enough to replace the SCRATCHED LENSES & BROKEN BOWS! How's that for service?
I don't drive often at night, but I can wear NOIR's 901 lenses at night while driving; it creates soft candle lights coming at me...tolerable. NOT to wear in town with all the action of people crossing where they shouldn't be, etc.
from LOU to Betty on LONG web links and Thank You Lou!: "If you hit the return key in the middle of a link, I don't think it will be clickable anymore. An alternative that maybe Betty should be telling people about is the tiny url website. I have it on my tool bar at the top of the page and use it for those incredablylongwebsiteaddresses.
All you have to do is ask tiny url to produce a short version, which it will do with a unique address, which you then use instead in your post. Works just the same when clicked! Here is the website, spread the word!
3-1-06, fyi, I tried dragging tinyurl to my toolbar without success, so that''s why I currently have LONG addresses vs. short tiny ones! I''ll keep trying.

Thank you all for the support. I was diagnosed and have been treating since last year. What a nightmare. I thought I would be much better by now and it's not as easy as I thought it would be. I start one antibiotic and reach a point where I'm feeling kind of decent then it's time to switch meds and the whole thing starts over again. Is that common for everyone?
Lymetoo, how long have you been treated? Are you cured or still seeing your llmd? I'm relieved to hear you're doing great, it gives me such hope.
Seems like there are a lot of entire families with lyme disease. I could swear I gave this to my husband. He was very healthy and slowly started to feel sick and had some of the same symptoms I did. If it's sexually transmitted maybe I need to talk to a man I had a long term relationship with before I met my husband?
Our relationship is another story, I'll post about it later. We love each other very much but I think he's had enough of me being sick all the time. We both thought I'd be much better by now and I'd be able to go back to work. As much as I want to I can't see that happening any time in the near future.
Thanks again for the support. Sure is nice to talk to people who care and understand.

From what I understand from my last apointment with LLMD-Lyme can be sexually transmitted!!!!!! So you may want to check it out. My relationship with my husband is a bit strained because he still has the same level of expectations of me as before I was sick. We are now in pastoral counseling-at least I have a witness to my efforts to educate my husband to how lyme disease effects me, and why I continually seem to let him down. He gets short with me sometimes -today I hung up on him on the phone because I could tell it was going to escalate to a fullblown fight. Better to hang up than start screaming at him. He called back later and apologized-he forgets it is hard for me to process information and gets impatient. Carol

I took abx nonstop for more than 4 yrs then got bit again. Have been mostly OFF abx for the past 2 yrs.
Completely off since last Sept. Now I rife and take good care of myself. Also working on getting rid of yeast..... That stuff is as bad as the stupid Lyme!
I still see Dr C every 4 months.
