Okay here goes, I has just registered on this site and no hard feeling but I hope I don't stay long. A couple of years ago I found a tick on my lower stomach and with in a day I developed a rash. No big deal. Fastforward to this Monday. I was posting on a board for breastfeeding mothers and the topic of ticks was brought up. I now know what I has was called a classic "bullseye" rash. I have done a little reaserch on my own and I will have to agree with some of the systoms of Lyme. My question for people on here is if it has been nearly 2 years since the rash developed would I be so sick now that I could not stand it. I do have the twitching, creepy bugs crawling over you, ringing ears, sweating, nausea, fatigue, and some more signs but was wondering if things need to more serious if I did infact have Lyme or if the bulleye rash was enough to demand testing. I don't have any type of medical insurance so just need to know excatly what to ask for to say myself from unnessecary testing. Thanks to anyone who has taken the time to read this.

Yes, you can be so sick you just can't stand it; that's the way we all are.
Print off Dr. B's 05 lyme guidelines especially since you do not have medical insurance. You'll need to get your MD or whoever you go to get you going on taking doxycline, an antibiotic, abx. Read about abx in Dr. B's guidelines ok.
Did you work before for 5 straight years and had to quit due to your health? If yes, you might try to file for SSDI, SS disability insurance benefits or SSI.

If you are showing symptoms of co-infections, I would like to suggest being tested for co-infections when you have LYME western blots done. It isn''t cheap!! But if you are positive, you can treat the co-infections first, and then work on LYME symptoms.

Sorry you have to be here, but if you have Lyme, this is the place to learn.
To answer your question, the progression of Lyme looks different in every person. Some become extremely ill immediately, some progress in illness over time, and some have periods of being well, and being ill.
Lyme can mimic almost any illness you can imagine, and can be very hard to diagnose if the tick isn't seen, and the rash never happens, which is the case for many people. You are lucky, you saw the tick and the rash. If you had a bull's eye rash, it means you absolutely had Lyme disease at that time.
It is not very likely that your body got rid of it on its own, but the illness can lay dormant for years, to be triggered by some stressor.
Also, there are other infections that ticks can transmit, and getting those can increase the intensity of onset of your illness.
The reason people are asking if you are breastfeeding, is that there is some evidence that Lyme disease can be transmitted via breastfeeding. It can certainly be transmitted in the womb. So you may need to watch your children, as well as yourself.
Transmission does not happen in every child, but it does happen, and can cause many problems in their health.
If you go to the Medical section, there is a thread for Newbie's that has lots of info. Be sure to read Dr. Burrascanno's Treatment Recommendations. He gives the basics of all Lyme treatment.
Your best bet is to find a doctor who is already knowledgeable about diagnosis and treatment. If you go to Seeking a Doctor, people can help ou with that.
I was initially ill in 89 but never diagnosed. Symptoms finally cleared after several months and went on with life.
Became full blown again in 2002 after major trauma from a car accident. I put the two together because symptoms were a duplicate.
Lingering symptoms in between those times were ringing in ears, fatigue, headaches, pain to knees and fingers, depression.
These were minor and I disregarded them because docs told me I worked full time and was a mom. Too much on my plate they said.
All four of my children have tested positive and are all symptomatic to varying degrees so I understand your frustration and worry about your daughter.
Can I ask what lab you are planning to use in testing your daughter? All four of mine were tested initially through Quest and only band 41 showed positive. Just a few months later we used Igenex with more positive results.
Dr J can send you the test kits and an order so that you will not need to obtain an order from your ped. Sounds as though you are having a diff time there. I have the info for the lab Dr J recommended if you want it to call to see if medicaid will cover testing.
All you do then is take it to your local hospital to do blood draws.
Did you recieve any treatment after your bullseye rash? Did you get the bullseye prior to or during your pregnancy? The bullseye was 2 years ago and your daughter is 15 months right?
