Okay if any of you have seen my post you can tell I am new here.
Someone asked if I was breastfeeding, I do. Can some post a link that would have information on this?
I have had no kind of testing thus far but from what you all are telling me the bullseye rash itself is enough. My daughter has an ped. app. today and I am going to bring Lyme up.
She has been sick since about 2 weeks old, been on over 15 antibiocs, sent to the ped. disease control specialist but never found anything. Could Lyme be the cause? What are the chances I test positive and it is transfered thru my breastmilk? She has nursed for 15 months.

Not sure what the chances are you will test positive, but I suspect not great.
However, it doesn't matter what you test if you had the bullseye rash - again, that is diagnostic by itself and warrants treatment without testing.
Your doctor, unless in the .000001% of doctors who are Lyme literate (LLMDs) is not likely to know anything the possibility of transfer through pregnancy and breastmilk, so rather than ask him/her, I would go armed to INFORM him/her.
As most of us on Lymenet would testify, seeking help and guidance from your 'average' MD on Lyme disease really is a waste of time, LITERALLY. The vast majority of them are hugely misinformed and/or underinformed when it comes to Lyme - meaning because of the misinformation they have been fed they are likely to say Lyme is hard to catch and easy to cure and that your baby will not catch it. Again, lots of us have personal experience to the contrary.
Time is of the essence here and I would take charge of the situation and first and foremost seek the advice of an experienced LLMD because I'd hate to see you bounced from pillar to post for several months or years more. I did that for over a decade.

We had our 15 month check up this morning and I mentioned all this to him. His only response was that if I did have lyme that durning pregnacy I would of been so sick, more or less death bound.
I do not even know where to begin. Thanks everyone for the links and I am trying to go through all this but the informations is so depressing.
I am going to have to get tested and my children!

Momma, go to TREEPATORL'S NEWBIE LINKS, look for the 3 blood labs testing WESTERN BLOT IGM/IGG... you want your blood sent to IGENEX!
I just typed all this for someone else, look higher in general & also medical for my detailed notes there; getting off for today now...tired!
Welcome to this 24/7 LYME support group board!
Here's TREEPATROL's and Tincup's combination newbie links.
Print off the links then check them off as you read as you could spend several months reading all of this.
print & read Dr. Burrascono's 2005 info first; you will come back to this often.
Extensive info in Treepatrol''s newbie links about the meaning of WESTERN BLOT IGM/IGG test results from Igenex! Be sure to read or print this info IF Igenex tested you ok!
Also, see Cheryl''s extensive web sites on: LD DIAGNOSIS, SYMPTOMS, & TREATMENT ... wonderful! Read the area on CO-INFECTIONS! You could have from 1-10 other illnesses that tick is carrying...lyme, malaria, etc.
If you are showing symptoms of co-infections, I would like to suggest being tested for co-infections when you have LYME western blots done. It isn''t cheap!! But if you are positive, you can treat the co-infections first, and then work on LYME symptoms.
EYE SENSITIVIES & NOIR, no infrared sunglasses info., 2-28-06 updated YES, I have what you have! Are you on doxy too? That made my extreme eyes
200% MORE sensitive than they we were earlier. I learned a lot about eye sensitivity/lighting on www.marshallprotocol.com board.
Look for AUSSIE BARB'S EAST FINDER and then eyes/sunglasses, etc. Wealth of info there.
mention you have lyme and marshall protocol, they will give you 20% off! I'm NOT on MProtocol, but mention it anyway. I was on their new board almost 12 months!
Also they have been kind enough to replace the SCRATCHED LENSES & BROKEN BOWS! How's that for service?
I don't drive often at night, but I can wear NOIR's 901 lenses at night while driving; it creates soft candle lights coming at me...tolerable. NOT to wear in town with all the action of people crossing where they shouldn't be, etc.
from LOU to Betty on LONG web links and Thank You Lou!: "If you hit the return key in the middle of a link, I don't think it will be clickable anymore. An alternative that maybe Betty should be telling people about is the tiny url website. I have it on my tool bar at the top of the page and use it for those incredablylongwebsiteaddresses.
All you have to do is ask tiny url to produce a short version, which it will do with a unique address, which you then use instead in your post. Works just the same when clicked! Here is the website, spread the word! http://tinyurl.com/
3-1-06, fyi, I tried dragging tinyurl to my toolbar without success, so that''s why I currently have LONG addresses vs. short tiny ones! I''ll keep trying.
RASH ITCHES -- use ``rubbing alcohol`` on it especially the corners good. Hubby suggested; worked great for me; rash cleared up in 2 days vs. weeks/month

milkmomma,
If your kids have Lyme and/or any of related co-infections, please know that with proper treatment, kids can bounce back very nicely!
Try not to stress about all this. It is a lot of info to take in all at once. But your first step would be to post over in the "Seeking a Doctor" section something like "Looking for an LLMD in (your area)".
You can also call the Lyme Disease Association (see the link over on the left?) and they can give you doctor names and phone numbers.
And whenever you feel overwhelmed, or just have questions, please don't hesitate to ask here, okay?

I just posted a reply about breastfeeding on the medical section - I think it was to the same mom with 15 month old.
If you think your baby has LD and maybe was born with it, definitely go to an llmd or it will be too steep a learning curve. You can get referrals from www.lymediseaseassociation.org
