Hello All,

As many of you know our dear Iceskater, had a retina detachment. She emailed me this morning saying that her surgery is scheduled for today.

Please keep her in your prayers.

skater needs a miracle that she will be able to get back the eyesight in this one eye.

Iceskater, may your prayers be answered with this surgery. I hope and pray your eyes are as good as new after your recovery time.

I hope you have yourself set-up for great care. Might needs some extra meds to give you the patience to endure this two weeks of recovery. And patience, my dear.

Take care of you!

Pam

I spoke to her this afternoon. She is in pain , and eye swollen, but had her post-op appointment and could actually see the light when the Dr shined it into her eye. :-)

She couldnt talk long because she had to go back and lay face down.

Keep the well wishes coming for her speady recovery :-)

shame on me, i was going to sit down promptly and send her SNAIL get well card, and still haven't done it. i'm paddling myself..

skater, you've been in my prayers nightly that you will regain ALL the use of your eyesight back.

you are such a special, thoughtful friend ... sending various all occasion cards, mystery packages, and even yule logs, yummy!!

i'll get it ready tomorrow, and mail MONDAY when i go to the drs. to give blood for this wks. checkup how i'm doing... i promise you! [group hug] [kiss]

I havent heard anything. Last I spoke to her she said she would update me daily, but Im thinking that she is probably just resting face down.

I worked with a guy who had this surgery, and he had to lay on his couch most of the time.

Dont feel bad Betty- i also have been to ill to run to the post office.

I did make it out today for blood work, and was able to mail something off to her. [Smile]

I spoke to Sandi today, she sounds better.

She can sit upright now, and has to do so even while sleeping for the next few nights. She went to the dr yesterday, and the retena is still attached.

This is a good sign and she was able to still detect light. There is still a lot of healing to do in the eye and it is still quite bruised.

Please continue to keep her in your prayers.
