Thanks so much.
I know I would have made it through this, but not as gracefully as I have with you all behind me.
I still can't believe almost 3 years since the K word.
Still so very blessed. It wasn't only a house.
Not a loved one.
Washing new towels as we speak.
One load at a time.
Maybe this will help provide a turning point as well for my battle with Lyme and co-infections.
Kids both in school this fall....oh to sit on the back porch (when we get a little cooler)
And relax and maybe read and maybe take a little nap.
Maybe I will move my computer outside too!
Hugs,
Geneal

That will teach me not to proof read before I post.
I meant it was only a house.
Not a loved one.
I knew what I meant to say. Just couldn't get the message to my fingers.
Must proof read. Must proof read. Must proof read.

I know ALL about moving,,,losing things to the "box" monster,,,and the joy of finding them again!!
Oh how I wish I was there to make YOUR move so easy!!! Are you 'carting' it all over,,or loading it on something and moving more wholesale??
find a couple carts and 10 handsome cabana boys to run them,,mostly naked of course and make it FUN!!!says--just don--

Dear Don,
Are you by chance offering to be one of the "cabana boys"?
Actually I will have to go through everything.
One piece of clothing, pot, plate at a time.
I plan on loading stuff into the back of my van and then driving up to the house.
It is a rather steep climb at 7.5 feet and we are still awaiting more dirt
To make the slope more manageable.
I am so excited I can't sleep.
I started washing sheets and towels and hopefully will get some stuff moved today.
Very hard with the children under foot.
They are so excited too.
Hugs,
Geneal

Geneal, I am crying tears of joy for you.
You have been such an inspiration to me through all this. Such a long journey home!
Whenever I felt like I couldn't deal with another bit of this, I'd think of you in two rooms with two little kids, and all of you with Lyme,
with people getting in the way of getting your house built, and I'd think...well if Geneal can do it I'm going to quit my baby whining!
I can't wait to hear about how it feels to be in your new place!
I know moving is hard work. I'll send over a couple of my cabana boys, the ones who will give you the best view as they are carrying stuff towards your new house.

Thank you all so much.
Furniture coming tomorrow, but it will take me a few days to wash everything and get it up the hill.
I still can't believe it is finally happening.
My reality is finally going to be normal except for Lyme.
At least until the next full moon.

An incredibly well-oiled Cabana boy showed up on my doorstep asking how to get to your new house.
In addition to his pool-side skills, he has moonlighted for moving companies and looks forward to unpacking your belongings, setting up your home, doing your laundry, and serving you frosty drinks.
If you do not need his services, he will be trying out for Survivor....
Did I mention that he's incredibly well-oiled and defined...

I will definitely take you all up on the cabana boys!
I think that may actually be more exciting than moving into the house.
Maybe if I get each one to move one piece of clothing, one canned good, etc.
It will prolong the viewing pleasure.

Geneal

Well, spent the first night last night in new house.
It is so quiet. Almost too quiet as we don't have the 7 dogs living there.
I adore my animals, but don't want them to ruin my new house.
My son (5 years old) did not make it through the night in his own room.
Figured it may take some time as he only remember sleeping in the room with Mommy.
Hopefully tonight.
It is unbelieveable the amount of stuff we have accumulated.
I guess 2+ years of living out of plastic bins has resulted in me just piling stuff on top.
Found items yesterday I forgot I even had (bottom of these plastic bins).
I moved food, clothes, etc from 9:00 am yesterday till 9:00pm.
Yet, I couldn't sleep. I could easily do this for 3 weeks and still have stuff to go through.
Hugs and kisses to you all.
Hoping my computer gets moved soon.

Ah, A new chapter in your life has begun. I know it is exciting. But, take it easy.
It seems when we over do it, it sets us back several weeks, months.
It is just things. Your health is more important.

like Kam said a new chapter for you has begun and I couldn't be more happier for you.....
I couldn't even begin to imagine what you and your family has gone through these past 2+ years.... you are so strong....
when things get rough for me I often think of you and people that have and are suffering from katrina....
I hope the days ahead get better with the unpacking...

We went in the opposite direction-from a three story 12 room house-to a double wide trailer! ACK
30 year's accumulation to sort. My goal is to empty storage this month. I think we are paying 70 bucks a month for stuff that is worth less than 20 bucks.
What is the distance between your two abodes?

Geneal, I'm so glad you are actually in the house. Take your time with the rest. It's not going anywhere and you need to take time to rest and enjoy your new place.

Hey, that's nothing. I have my mom's 95 years of stuff, plus the things she brought from her aunt's house back in the late 50's and some of it was never unboxed! ACK!
I also downsized last year and am still finding things. I sometimes I think I need a storage unit, but not sure I can afford one.
Guess I need to call and price them. Duh!

Good news is I have equal bags for Goodwill and for us.
My husband is the worst mover in the world.
He just grabs stuff and throws everything everywhere.
Talk about making double work for me.
Of course he has his priorities. TV, Stereo, Satellite, etc.
Who cares if we don't have food in the house.
We can just watch TV.
Gotta love that man.
Hugs and kisses to all.
