Huh! Me Too! I'm 28 - going on 100 LOL - and almost everyone thinks I'm seventeen or eighteen! I always get hit on by high school boys - when I tell them how old I am they get embarrassed!
Thank God that's at least one (and probably the only) bonus from having this crap!

It never occurred to me there could be a connection.
I feel twice my age, but look 10 years younger.
I'm always told how surprised people are at how old my children are. I thought people were (trying to) being polite!
Frankly, I've been getting annoyed by comments the past year or so.
(If you chage the title of this thread, I bet you'll get tons more responses like this. ) Just a suggestion.

Carly, I get that too about the children. When I'm out of the house with my 20 year old people are shocked that she's my daughter. Then they try to politely pry about how old I was when I had her .... I was 25!!

Six- Sometimes they can get pretty rude, though! (without meaning to be, of course.) Some people have no boundaries.
I'm 38. Been told I look 25. I have teenagers. Then they do the math.
I have even been asked if I'm the biological mom! (My kids look just like me - They want to know if I was a teenage mom.)
Of course, sometimes I'm not very tolerant of people. I usually end up telling most - now these are barely acquantances- that it's rude to ask a woman her age.
It keeps them guessing; I don't care what anyone thinks!

I wonder if it is because Lyme uses up our zinc so our copper level is perhaps higher then most people's copper level?
Could it have anything to do with the zinc copper balance?

This is definetly interesting.... I've been with my daughter who is 21, and people think we're sisters. (I just thought they needed glasses - although this has happened a lot!)
Seriously, though, for the most part people think that I'm younger than I am. I work with someone in their thirties, and they thought I was younger than them. I'm 45.
I got a really good/bad one for you! (Although it's pretty disturbing as well) About a year ago, I was in a bookstore with my son, and the owner of the bookstore thought I was my sons wife!!!!!

Interesting theory about the zinc and copper! I've developed melasma (hyperpigmentation) on my upper lip since getting Lymed.
I read somewhere at one point that melasma could be due to access copper in your system! You could really be on to something here!

I think it's a lack of significant grey, just a bit at the temple, and a lack of wrinkles.
Maybe I'm just a hip cat, so people think I am younger. I haven't asked anyone to know for sure.
I do have a FaceBook page! Most people younger than me are surprised. My 17 year old daughter was very surprised to see that I even have friends on FaceBook.

When I was a teen - everyone thought I was older (got into bars, etc. when I was 14... they didn't proof as much back then).
Then I got to be in my 30s & everyone thought I was in my 20's. I'm almost 48 & people look surprised when I say I'm 48...
We do take tons of supplements!!!
My sisters & mother were completely gray at a young age. I have some gray but I don't really mind it - but most of my hair is in it's original color.

This is so crazy! I am 30 years old, had lots of grey hair in my early 20s, but now that I am older all my grey hair is gone and I no longer dye it. Maybe I can better guess when I was infected. LOL!

Same for me! I am 28 and people always think I'm 16. It's very annoying.
Just last week a new hire at my part time job asked me if I also went to school (that is in addition to working).
I think she assumed this because I have a part time retail job and look very young. I had to explain to her that I only work part time because of Lyme and that I'm accually 28.
I don't know for me if it has anything to do with Lyme. I always been this way. Hopefully it will pay off when I'm older.

Hey! Here is one good thing about looking 16 when you're 28. When sales people come to the door you can tell them your parents aren't home and they leave right away. Works everytime. I don't have to energy to deal with them anyway.

Me too! I always thought it's because I had Lyme since my youth and I never could do the partying, drinking and sunbathing orgies like others....
and yes: my zinc is low and my copper is high.
Maybe this could become a reliable Lyme test: if you look at least 10 years younger than your age then you have Lyme. If not, it's something else

I just got carded this summer (buying beer for my husband, not me, unfortunately), the first time I've been carded in years. And I'm in my very late 30s! And I've been getting lots of compliments lately on my skin. So maybe lyme does have some kind of beauty perks. Can't wait for it to take hold in Hollywood!

Hmm---one would think that Bb's collagenolytic activity would make
maybe. tho i have genetics (great grandma who's 90 and looks 60, true for her all of her life)
and i've injested a heck of allot of electrolytes, coconut oil, fish oils, nutritional stuff, meditation, kefir, chi machine, ect, ect.. for the past few years.
i'm (gulp) 40, and so long as i'm not in stress crisis and wearing lyme warrior garb (which is any sweats i find on the floor, and that alluring "don king" look i get with no time to brush my hair) ie: if i'm basically pruned and preened, i look very young. no wrinkles, people say 25-30's. they never think i'm old enough to have a teenager.
ho-hum.
i'd sacrifice any of that to look 90 tomorrow and forever in exchange for having my kid safe, tho.
but this is a fun distraction topic.
