I remember when I was really little my folks being called up once in a while to go to a neighbor's home on the spur of the moment... and it was called a...
"Come As You Are" party. You weren't allowed to change clothes or do any prep. The idea I think was to catch you unsuspecting and then make fun of you when you got there?
It could have been a military thing.. I don't remember.
Well, since I can't invite you all here...
RIGHT NOW!
Come to the LymeNet, "Come As You Are" party here.
OK? So let's begin!
``````````````````````````````````````` What are you wearing right now (details details) and what did you eat for your last meal?
I was dragged out of bed for a come as you are party when I was a teen. I was embarrassed to show up in PJ's and not able to wash my face or brush my teeth!!! EEK!!!!!
All in all, it was fun. Thanks for reminding me of it, TC!
Me, I'm sitting here in what I wore to church this morning. Long sleeved cotton tee under a lacey sweater, with black jeans.
What are you serving at the party? Are we playing Twister or cards?
I just ate my meal of stuffed bell peppers
(I stuffed them with something we eat down here called dirty rice).
Sounds kinky huh?
I have on gray sweat pants a gray t-shirt and a gray jacket.
It's a gray day.
Socks and blue slippers complete the outfit.
Hair is falling in my eyes....that is the hair that
Has escaped from my Pony-tail (gray scunchii holding it).
I am pooped out.
Can I just watch you play twister?
If we play cards, I want to play for symptoms.
Or a really good day.
Hugs,
Geneal
HA!
G- Tutu and I can't provide much for the pantie raid.. but we sure should be leading the pack going after them!
BTW- I heard your bra was in the freezer in case you are looking for it! Tdtid put it there but told me not to tell!
And Twister! Wow!
I always wondered if that game was legit ... or made to be kinky on purpose?
I kinda had fun with the hoola hoop and a yo yo. More my speed.
And I can't believe how many hours I entertained myself back then... on the stairway with a slinky.
Hey td... sorry about tummy stuff... but the night gown sounds pretty.. so you can stay at the party!
Ha ha - I had Chinese smorgasborg buffet at Safeway's hot dish counter - a bit of everything, which I thought was cool, instead only one or two dishes, and thankfully I was dressed when I looked at this, albeit a little wet 'cause it's raining out...
black sweats, my late sister's CHEROKEE pink tshirt, hot pink ls button down dressy sweatshirt with my BREAST CANCER AWARENESS RIBBONS ON in memory of my beloved sister, white socks, just changes to tennies to keep my feet warm since heat is down to 65....
i'll join tc and tutu; bottoms up! no, it's not SHOW AND TELL TIME!
when i sit here for several hours; the elastic cuts into me bad; and my butt is numb from that...
of course, my ensamble ends with my 2 neck and lower back frozen ice packs numbing my neck/back pain! wouldn't be without these...
And Melanie is STILL beautiful,,with or without makeup and 'stuff'.
I ate 3 full blown sized ham sandwiches for supper. Seems like sandwiches is all I muster this last week.
Remember in the old days,,,sometimes,,,we stopped for what was called 'gut' burgers(they tasted better than my sandwiches)
And I am showing up topless,,,and scaring you ALL back home a hollerin. Sockless and shoeless to boot. Its HOT tonight in here,,,66* dont cha know!!
Tincup- on your pigs and chickens pic you painted. I always heard at "breakfast time" ---the chicken contributes,,,the pig is 'committed'!!!
Weather is calling for heavy RAIN tommorrow and huge possible floods,,,melting snow on frozen ground and rivers. Ice jams makes water rise real FAST!!
It's almost 12:30 pm, and I'm still in my jammies. I ate an apple this morning and just haven't gotten up again to eat yet.
OptiMisTick, yeah the ice fishing, that happened here in OH....can't believe they did that when it was about 55 degrees out and was in the 40's the day before!! So sad someone lost their life, but glad the others are OK (and hopefully will NEVER do that again!!!).
Sounds like a fun party. Can I bring my stash of 80s music? That's about all I listen to anymore.
What am I wearing? Well, I had a lot of running around to do this morning, so I'm wearing blue sweatpants (that I picked up for free at the church clothes closet), my late mother's white turtleneck with a T-shirt over top. The T-shirt has a cross with a note that reads, "I'll be bak to get you soon. Love, Jesus."
White sox and pink and white sneakers.
Some stray pieces of yarn from my crocheting hanging off my shirt.
My hair is a rat's nest like always. I want it cut short, but hubby is obsessive about me having long hair. i hate it!
I had a leftover-turkey sandwich with honey mustard for lunch. I really want a big slab of chocolate cake and chocolate icing, but I don't feel like baking today.
Can't anyway, we're packing to go to Florida tomorrow.
We were going to do a week-long Disney vacation for my older son's birthday, but my husband lost his job. So now we're doing a budget Florida vacation instead. We just need to get out of this place for a while.
Even my psychologist thinks it would do me some good--he's still trying to figure out if my symptoms are psychosomatic or not. If they get better down there, then he'll lean towards psychosomatic.
Yeah, whatever.
Hey, speaking of 80s music, I just thought of an 80s song (don't think it was really popular, but I do remember the corny video). Peter Wolf from J. Geils had a song called "Come As You Are."
"Come as you are,
Now come on (whoop whoop),
Come as you are, and we'll have a ball.
Ain't gonna be no masquerade (whoop whoop)
Come as you are
Or don't come at all."
Am I late for the party? I am wearing jeans with a shirt that looks like a long johns shirt or insulated underwear shirt. I didn't wash my hair today, so it is really straight and limp.
I have been eating a lot of junk today. Don't know what is going on. I haven't had an apetite in ages and all of a sudden I am ravenous (sp). So since I already messed up my diet today, I might as well eat some party food.
Where is the band? I need to hear "Mustang Sally". If I hear that song, I have no choice but to dance or at least give it a good ol try. Oh yea and I really need to hear "Brown Eyed Girl". Yes, I have brown eyes!
Nothing like a good party! Thanks for the invite! Had a great time!
Lets do it again sometime.
Question- How do you tell a Lymies house?
Answer- Open the door!
HA!
I remember a "Come as you were party". Us girls did the easy thing and wore our PJs in pig-tails and carried a teddy bear or doll. Many of the guys showed up in a blanket fashioned to be a diaper and had baby bottles - and they weren't just filled with juice!!! I suppose with this group we would all arrive at a "Come as you were party" wearing our best Pre-Lyme good health!! But - Here I am at work. Wish I was in PJs like some of you. Wearing a pink sweater and black cords, nothing fancy. Ate a Peanutbutter and jelly sandwich. Looking for the popcorn - who ran off with the popcorn? -p
