I hate to post this here but I'm running out of ideas that won't land me in prison....

My husband and I bought close to 4 acres with a double-wide on it about 3 years ago.

Unfortunately the neighbor across from us is a meth head and dealer.

We've had problems starting the first week we moved in.

Our dog was injured, pounding on the side of the trailer early in the morning, visits while husband at work early in morning, small outdoor items stolen, gun shots when we get out of our vehicles and now turning off my pumphouse breaker when I walk my dog.

I'm sure there's other things that I've forgotten but the harrassment is never ending.

We've called the sheriff's department so many times and filed umpteen incident reports.

When he's cooking meth we call and they don't come out. Next day the drug traffic starts. Just about 4-5 regulars.

God! What to do? What to do?

Any suggestions welcome, even the not so legal ones. [Wink]

Grasping at straws here.

Call the DEA (Drug Enforcement Administration. 251 441-5831

Apparently there is a big problem in Alabama with methamphetamine. This info came up when I googled Drug Enforcement Administration Alabama. You shouldn't have to put up with this. I would call them.

Good Luck,

Gael

Yes, I agree with both Steve and Gael.

We used to live out in the country. One of our kids' friends family was robbed at gunpoint by a meth USER. The people buying from him are also a danger.

I would bet Drug Enforcement would be more concerned than the local police.

Not only can they become very irrational, they can become very strong and with boundless energy. So, keep your distance.

I had a meth user/dealer in the apt next to me for a while. Unbelievable energy and irrational behavior. Very frightening.

I do hope DEA helps you. Be careful.

Oops! Just realized you may be in Alaska since your signature says Alaska Lone Wolf. If that's the case, just google Drug Enforcement Administration Salem Alaska.

I sure would hate to be in your shoes. I've had meth users as neighbors..and it's a nightmare. Meth is a scourge..awful, horrible, terrible stuff. Unfortunately it's becoming epidemic. The midwest has been decimated by this horrible drug.

Call the DEA. I would also check to see if there's a drug task force in your area. I'm surprised that they keep hanging around after you've called the police on them, they usually don't like that kind of "exposure". But since the police didn't DO anything, I guess I can see why they're not worried. How awful.

I'm so sorry you're dealing with this. Keep your guard up.

I called the police on my neighbors and they told them that I had been the one to report them. I heard them through my door as they escorted him away as our doors are next to each other.

I just crumbled when I heard them say "your neighbor here has reported all the activity" - It was a nightmare after that for nearly 2 more years of his living here. But - the hourly visitors sure stopped after that, so at least it was just him and his girlfriend when he wasn't trying to kill her.

WIsh I had thought of going through the drug agency as they may have been a bit more protective of my report and given some real thought and planning as to how to approach.

My neighbor spent one night in jail and that was it. Guess he kept the stuff somewhere else and when they came to look, he has just sold the last of the lot. He was also the son of a very prominent business leader. I'm sure that had something to do with it.

But DEA might give a more careful approach than just a regular police call would. This has to be handled by really thinking it through, not just to stop one night's activity. But, even if arrested, many jails are just overcrowded.

I wonder if DEA has some other plan. It would be nice to see a real solution. Other agencies around may be able to offer certain kinds of support for you and programs for them to really help turn it all around. I wonder if a drug task force may be the ones to approach.

If no response from law enforcement agencies call your local news outlets and let them ask the police what's up.

TuTu, It says Salem Al where it's says from, but her last line says Alaska Lone Wolf. [Cool]

At any rate she hasn't posted since yesterday, so hope she and her husband are okay.

P. S.

not to make light of the situation, but they should probably call Chuck Norris and the "Texas Rangers" They always get the job done. These drug dealers are a nightmare. Hope we hear from her soon,

Gael

She used to live in Alaska, hence the name.

I hope she IS OK!!! Yes, she needs Chuck Norris!

Did you know Texas made him an honorary Texas Ranger the other day? (PS.. There really ARE Texas Rangers and they go WAY back in history.)

I'm so sorry to worry everyone.

I'm really stressing out. Drinking right now as I type this.

Had to call the sheriff again yesterday.

We bought a lock for our outdoor breaker box and my pumphouse still went off when I went to walk Rocky and after resetting it went off again while I was cooking.

Found out that even locked you just have to grab the wires and give them a good yank and it kicks off my pumphouse breaker.

I had an absolute fit and screamed and cussed at my meth neighbor who was outside hacking and coughing from his run from my yard to his.

It's escalating and I'm so, so glad to read this tonight and get your all's two cents worth.

Thank you, thank you.

Seems like the local law doesn't want to deal with him so am going to contact ABI and DEA.

Also the deputy told me to get a deer cam last night so I've been shopping today for my Xmas present. Yeah, a deer cam and locking gas cap and flashlight! Just what I wanted! [Mad]

I paid a private detective not long after we first moved in to see if the guy had any outstanding warrants.

Have some friends that work for a different state's sheriff's department and that are part-time bounty hunters and they were interested in earning some extra cash.

Outside of that, nada!

Anywho, no warrants.

I'm trying not to go nuts here. It was so quite when he was in jail earlier this year for putting sugar in his ex-girlfriend's gas tank.

Everyone on my street hates him and we're all being terrorized. Others have burglar alarms and cameras on there property too.

It's so expensive. Something someone with Lyme and other issues can't afford.

But anyways, thank you all so much for responding. I didn't really know if I should post but I'm getting desparate here.

I'll let you all know if we catch him.

Joann from Alaska trapped in the 'Meth' state of Alabama.

Make sure you get an infa red deer cam. They are about 20 bucks more but worth it.

When it takes the picture it won't give off a flash.

We caught unauthorized hunters on our posted land and days before they denied it. Turned in the pictures and they spent a night in jail and a fine.

They never noticed the camera.

With meth users if they know it's there they'll do whatever to steal it or break it. Make sure it's hidden well.

I don't know how you feel about owning a firearm,
but you do have a right to defend yourself if it comes to that.

I would not hesitate if my life or that of my family were threatened.

I hope the DEA etc can help you. We have the same problem around here. A friend of ours had some of them across the street who caused all kinds of trouble.

Their meth lab blew up and took the house with it. Problem solved.

Firearm is not a bad idea. When we lived in the country, we'd take the shotgun outside and shoot skeet. The neighbor kid had been in the juvenile detention center for brutally murdering a dog ..... we never had any problems with him, maybe because he knew we had guns?

He also knew I was a good shot .... he fished in our pond (with permission because he was always respectful to me, as I was to him) and he knew I was the one who shot one of the barrels from across the pond with a .22 and sank it.

Okay Annie Oakley [Big Grin] Way to go girl!

I agree with others when you need to protect your life, getting a firearm is certainly one way to do it. I had to carry one back in the early nineties, because I had a crazed cocaine addict stalking me.

I did however go to weapons training classes and practiced at a fireing range extensively. I ultimately got a permit to carry a glock 9. I almost had to use it, but grateful that I didn't.
