Will it ever end? As you can see by my signature, I found this site when my son was 5. He's now 8... He was infected when he was almost 4. Misdiagnosed, his life has never been the same...
Finished treatment with his LLMD in March. I thought things have been going pretty well, though, I suspected it was still lurking.
His teacher called me today, things aren't going well there. He's struggling, slot. He's receiving help with math/reading, but he's falling behind. He does ok with 1:1, but as soon as he's in a group.... he's lost. Focus/concentration is poor. That is nothing new to me.
She's noticed he goes to the bathroom alot. I found this interesting because I've noticed that he's having more pee accidents at night. He also seems more emotional to me....
What I didn't know is that he is vomiting again, alot. His sister told me he's doing it almost every day. He did today at school, but told no one.
I'm thankful that his joints and eyesight are being spared this time. But somehow I find no comfort. I'm so sad for him. So angry at the pedi who misdiagnosed him despite all classic signs.
My son will never be "normal".... yup, just sad. And worried.
I'm not looking for advice, not new at this. I know what we're up against. I know what I'll have to do....
Just need a good cry tonight, but tomorrow is a new day & we'll beat it back down again....

So so sorry. I can't imagine.
I'm always reading that love and family are really the most important things in life. I would guess that to a child, they are everything.
Your son has that. And there is always the possibility of sustained remission. Hang on and keep fighting.

Songbird, I am so sorry your son is not feeling well again.
I am sure with just a call his LLMD will help him.
Keep me posted. Maybe he has co infections.

Has your son had his blood glucose checked?
Concentration problems, going to the bathroom a lot and having nightime accidents can be a sign of diabetes.
I had a 3rd grade student once who exhibited these things and ended up in a coma. His glucose was in the 900's.

PLEASE look into treating him for parasites. They can be one of the co-infections of Lyme and are often overlooked. I used to have projectile vomiting and diarrhea before I got rid of parasites. Google parasite symptoms and check out

Thanks.... His pedi is running labs on him tomorrow, we have an appt first, so I'll ask if we can check for diabetes. Should fast before that one, so will probably have to be done another day.
I'm lucky that our new pedi is very open-minded about lyme....he supported me in our decision to see LLMD. Even said, he'd have done the same thing.
We also will be talking about referrals for neuro-psych testing & a speech eval. Pedi has requested the results of the tests the school did last year.
Starting to get some resistance from the school, hoping these new tests will force them to help my son more....
