Hi Everyone,
I haven't been around as much as I'd like as I've been working on end-of-the-year accounting and board stuff at my job, and that's been keeping me occupied. The really great news is that my mind is clear! That is exciting...no Lyme brain!

God Thought Friends, I wanted to respond to yesterday's posts on last weeks God Thought so here goes...
fflutterby, I liked reading about your log-in name...because of the butterfly. Reminds me of a song my boys used to sing when they were little, "Bullfrogs and butterflies they've both been born again." Makes me smile and have happy thoughts. And the song is about Believers being born again, too.
Psalm 139 is my most favorite Psalm and the ending sure is a surprise. Yet, as it was David's heart desire that the Lord would search him and know his heart and lead him on the everlasting path...surely that is our heart's desire too. And who better to show us than the One who made us and knows us better than we know ourselves.
The song you posted last week, "Call on Jesus" is full of beautiful truth. It's inspiring and faith building. If anyone missed it, here is the link
Dekrator, Again, thank you for being so faithful to all of our friends on God Thought. Especially when I'm not around you always come through. You are a dear sister in Christ.
G and I did have a nice Lord's Day. His message was encouraging and hope filled...He shared about knowing God's will and encouraged the congregation that God's plans for 2011 are good (Jeremiah 29:11). That's a great message for all of us!
Sounds like you had a wonderful time with your grandsons. May the Lord give you increased energy in this new year. They are very blessed to have you.

Hen's, glad you are doing so good...am praying for your DD. So sorry she had a rough weekend. That's hard on a mom.
I find that detoxing makes a HUGE difference for me. I faithfully take hydrogen peroxide/epsom salt baths (have you read the science on how that helps? if not I can get the info to you)... plus I use Neuro-Antitox II CNS/PNS. I have no neurological symptoms at this time. I still take the Neuro-Antitox II CNS/PNS. Here is a link if you want to read about that. Scroll down to the words "Neuro-Antitox II CNS/PNS and click them. (FYI, the website is changed and I'm finding it not as user friendly as before...even though the info is the same.)
It is important for DD to get good rest. Is she able to sleep? I am praying for DD and I know many others are too. May God encourage her heart and yours. May God minister to DD's body, mind, and spirit. May He lift her up to soar as on eagles wings. He is close to the broken hearted and those who are downcast.
May God give you wisdom as DD is treated. Trust in the Lord...Proverbs 3:5-6.
WOW, Hens, you are a celebrity! I, too, am proud of you for putting the spot light on Lyme Disease. Great job! Dekrator gave some great ideas about a video interview should you decide to do that. God will help you...hey, you can do all things through Christ who gives you strength.

Morning friends,
Been a busy week for all of us as I have read all the thoughts from each of you. I carefully read prayers, christnotes, and promises of Gods word and events that have been in your days. The sharing has been good for my soul this morning.
May all my friends know that I am thinking of you and praying that you have a special day with friends, family, co-workers and most of all with the Lord.
Morning is moving and I need to go take a detox bath. Whats really nice is I don't have a time limit until the ice thaws some time today from the winter storm Ga. incountered.

I'm reading through the Bible chronologically, it's my first time to do so, and i'm finding it interesting, inspiring, and thought provoking.
Since the readings are in time of when events happened, I've read part of Genesis, then some geneologies from 1 Chronicles, and now I'm in Job. Here are lovely verses from
Job 19:25-27 (NIV),
"I know that my Redeemer lives, and that in the end He will stand upon the earth.
And after my skin has been destroyed yet in my flesh I will see God.
I myself will see Him with my own eyes-- I, and not another.
How my heart yearns within me!"
May our heart's yearn for our God.

MDW, I see after I posted that you had added a post (which happens to be above mine). Good to see you. I had a detox bath this AM. They are so worth it. Remember, no more than 20 minutes.
Detox baths are good for anyone these days...chronic illness or not...due to the polluted world we live in.

You may have mentioned this before, but do you have a special Bible for that, or do you follow a reading plan online, etc?

Dekrator, I missed you also. I have been playing, cleaning house (me and home) praying and praising the last few days and reading the Bible chronologically. I love reading the bible this way! I am grasping it better or I just have not gotten to the difficult parts of the Bible.

I have a Bible I'm using that I happened to have at hom--it's the NIV Chronological Bible. My regular Bible is the New Living Translation.
However, here is a great link to Bible reading plans online. After you choose the month, a new screen pops up and gives you options for the Bible translation and the plan optons. Let me know how that goes and what you think.
Seems to be snowing all over the nation. Here we haven't received anything...o, a few flurries a few days ago. But it is sooo cold!

Hey...Daisy, it's a super cold day here today. I was looking out my back door and the squirrels need ice skates. They are trying to find their footing as they slide down the hill It's a sheet of ice on the snow. Poor babies. The birds are not even making prints in the snow. I am sure all the little critters are confused right now. I am having to put food out everyday for them.
Which got me thinking again...So daisy if I meditate on scriptures you post or what I read in the Bible for the day...will this teach me to worship Him? It's easy for me to praise him when things are great, but say if I have a storm... well... I do not know how to praise Him when the chips are down. I'm not saying I am down at this moment, I'm just saying..? Vision issues.
I need to go play... I think too much. My mother use to tell me to stop being so serious. Maybe I need to take her advice....jump rope anyone... hop-scotch?
ps....daisy, I started highlighting verses in the bible...(Job 19:25-27, Job 28:28, Romans 6:14, etc.) is this ok or will my entire bible be highlighted by the time I am finished reading it?

I started reading chronologically today. I'm only 12 days behind, so it won't take me too long to catch up.
I read 5 days worth so far.
I've already learned some new things and I'm finding it interesting to read this way.
Otherwise, it would be like reading any book out of order and wouldn't make as much sense.

I read day 1. That's all I could fit in this evening. I hope I remember to continue. I do come here daily so if you guys talk about it, it'll remind me.
Things are not spiffy here for DD. Stressed, blocked liver. Homeopath says from 6+ months of Bactrim (sulfurs block liver).
We took her off abx. last night. Want to focus on healing liver. Big decisions ahead...

MDW, Worship...Hmmm let me think out loud...
I am taking worship beyond what we say with our words. Of course, He is worthy of our words of worship, and songs, and everything.
In Romans 12:1-2 (NIV) we read, "Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God's mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God--this is your true and proper worship. Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God's will is--his good, pleasing and perfect will."
To me THAT verse is amazing. In view of God's mercy!!!!!! Give God all of us--body, mind, and spirit--THAT is the ultimate act of Worship to Him. Does that make sense?
So, MDW, to worship Him when everything is not going great, if I understand Romans 12:1-2...is to still have a relationship with Him and not follow the world's ways of handling "it". To sit with God over a cup of coffee and talk, and cry, and whatever else...
Also, another thought about giving God all of us, He will not settle for anything less than all of us. I mean really...He loves us so much!!! There is a saying, I think a song too, that says something like "He'd rather die than to every live without us." And He did!!!

Dekrator, So excited you're joining for reading the Bible through. You'll catch up in no time. We can do this. I am really enjoying it and even though it's only day 12...still...it's DAY 12!!! Halleloooo...we're doing it. And 5 days caught up so far...that's great!
Hens, so sorry about your DD. The liver is an amazing organ with great healing capabilities. In addition, we have a God that with Him nothing is impossible!
My husband had some liver issues at one point (his liver was over twice the normal size)...I'll talk with him and see what he did...because now his liver tests are perfect.
Sounds like a step in the right direction getting her off the abx. I know they really tore up my body after several years...and although my body is much, much better it is still recuperating from all the abx...and my immune system is still being built back up. You probably know this already...antibiotic actually means anti life, against life and although they do kill the bad they kill the good too. Granted they do have their place!
Anyway, keep your chin up precious Hens! God is in control and we are all praying for Him to lead you. May you experience His peace. May you recognize His leading and wisdom.
And I'm proud of you (especially with all that is going on right now) for reading Day 1. Great!

Wanted to share about Francis Chan...pastor, actually I think he's a missionary now...he is the author of the book, "Crazy Love". He has a powerful testimony...kind of reminds me of Job (where I am in reading through the Bible chronologically).
Francis Chan's mom died giving birth to him, then his Dad remarried and his step-mom died in a car wreck when he was nine, then his Dad remarried again and then his Dad died when he was 12...
Here's a link (less than 4 minutes) of him sharing. There is always hope and we can do more than just hold on...we CAN do all things through Christ who gives us strength.

Good afternoon God friends,
I love how God works! First off... I am not looking for a pat on the back just want to share a bit about my day.
This morning I read a very moving article. I am going to shorten the already short article,yes I could have read on and on, but the story ended...but not the story of God and what He is doing in my life, this will continue on.... So basically the article says to remind ourselves to keep Jesus in our lives/heart everyday, not just the month of December and Christmas day....everyday, to look around for opportunities to help others and practice this... everyday.
So I meditated on this "story," and then went about my morning routine; cabin fever struck me, so I gathered up the boys to make a pantry trip...I love my coffee. Pulling out of the driveway we see an elderly couple attempting to scrape the ice from their drive which has a steep incline, so the boys and I pull back into the driveway and go down to lend a hand.
We gather up two shovels and a bag of salt and begin. Kameron cannot see well, the yard and drive look the same to him, he is shoveling the yard and Zach takes the shovel from the elderly man and proceeds to break up the ice. As we continue I become exhausted. I find myself praying to Father to give me the strength to continue on...He answered.
When "our" task was completed, the elders attempted to pay us and we kindly said no with a smile.
I cannot even begin to tell you how very proud I am with my boys. I love them so. For their reward I took them sleding in the park, and on our way I saw a van with writing on the side that read "open arms"...made me smile. My feet are still trying to thaw out and I did get my cup of coffee, and....so much more.

So glad you all were blessed by watching Francis Chan. He sure says a lot in less than four minutes!
I hope everyone gets a chance to watch that. It inspires to DO LIFE and not sit on the bench...I mean the balance beam. I really like His example!
I've seen Francis Chan twice on TV on the Sunday morning broadcast at the Crystal Cathedral. His story is amazing and even more amazing how God has taken his tragic experiences and is using it to bless others for the Kingdom of God.
Dekrator, You sure are encouraging to all of us. Thank you soooo much. The Bible reading...yeah, lots of unusual names of people and cities. Hey, we're making it. And you really are...WOW...already to Jan 15. I've not yet read todays. But will pretty soon.
Are you using the website? or have a Bible? If you're using the website did you find it easy to navigate?
I am excited for all of us reading through the Bible and learning more too, and on December 31...we will have read through all of God's Word!
Psalm 138:2 reads, "I will bow down toward your holy temple and will praise your name for your love and your faithfulness, for you have exalted above all things your name and your word."
Hens, we are all here for you! You and your family are in our thoughts and prayers. Shall look forward to hearing about what God does to show Himself mighty in your situation.
Our God is faithful and true! May He show Himself faithful to you and open doors that no man can shut, give you supernatural wisdom as you make decisions for the future and also for DD, and may He meet all of your needs.

Just finished today's reading in Job. As I consider the advice of Job's-so called friends-this verse comes to my mind as I think about my own life, and the words I speak.
Psalm 19:14, "May the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be pleasing in your sight, O LORD, my Rock and my Redeemer."
May today be a good day for you.
May your heart sing with joy in His presence.
May He be the lifter of your head today...giving you hope and peace.
Have a great day as we honor our Rock and Redeemer by not only the words we say but also with our very thoughts. With God all things are possible.

I was watching Joyce Meyer last night and she was talking about self control.
She said it does not mean never being able to do anything that you want, but being able to do what you want sometimes....and letting go of the need to control everyone and everything around us..and only worrying about controlling ourselves. (That can be hard for me!)
Here is one of the scriptures she referred to.
2 Peter 1:5-8 (NIV)
5 For this very reason, make every effort to add to your faith goodness; and to goodness, knowledge;
6 and to knowledge, self-control; and to self-control, perseverance; and to perseverance, godliness;
7 and to godliness, mutual affection; and to mutual affection, love.
8 For if you possess these qualities in increasing measure, they will keep you from being ineffective and unproductive in your knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.
Once again, she had a good message. It always gives me something to think about.
Today I will be preparing for my husband's birthday dinner which is tomorrow eve. I will do some cleaning and set the table today.
Have to pick some things up at the store too. There will be 11 of us. I love get-togethers!

I noticed that my reading plan doesn't start in Job until Jan 19, and the Bible you are reading is already in Job (perhaps you're ahead?)...and one on the Biblegateway site is already in Job.
I have read only in Genesis and 1 Chronicles so far.
I guess it depends how much each plan tells you to read each day....some more and some less.

Daisy... I usually read the bible lesson in the evening, but today I wanted to "get it over with." When I read Job last night I was so over the drama of Job... even tho he is suffering I grew tired of it all because he kept blaming God for everything and Jobs friends did not have wise words for him...It was driving me crazy! and I found myself upset for all the uglies being tossed at God. I kept asking myself when was the "good part coming" I was pleased when Elihu stepped in.. Yea!
I am not real wise when it comes to the bible and God...but if it had been me ,I would have slapped Job around a bit and told him to quit being ugly to God.
Am I reading and understanding Job correctly? I will meditate on Psalm 19:14. Thanks.

Dekrator... Very interesting what you write about controlling only ourselves. hmmm? I will have to meditate on that one. I can say, I don't usually try and control other people, but I do find myself daily attempting to control my surroundings. Think? yes I will. Thanks.

Daisy? I was thinking again...Was Job a perfect or almost perfect human until the devil stepped in? I think I was reading that God gave Job everything and he never really knew what struggle and pain was because he was not a sinner until the devil got to him...right? Oh, he could not have been perfect because you told me only God is perfect...so was he almost?

Got me thinking, hummm...
No matter how much I might want to control another person or stuff going on around me...I've come to realize it's all I can do to control me.
I know I'm being funny (or at least that is my idea of funny) yet actually that is true.
Seriously, I'm so thankful for the Holy Spirit who lives within us...He not only gives us the desire to do what pleases God but also gives us the power to do it (see Philippians 2:13). That is SOME help for "self-control".
I really like the scriptures you shared...the progression is beautiful and hopeful...to be all that God wants us to be.
Your husband's birthday tomorrow...you're going to make it really special for him...and the others who come. Have a great day celebrating him!
About reading through the Bible...mine is an older Bible so I think there have been some modifications of putting it in chronological order since mine was printed.
I noticed that in Job...there is talk of Rahab. So I think that part (Rahab is in the book of Joshua??) should have been placed at some time during the book of Job.
Reading the Bible chronologically (first time for me) causes me to think more about time order...like when I read the comment about Rahab. Must be complicated to try and put it in time order. So thankful for the people who took on the task.
Dekrator, glad the Bible website is easy to navigate.
All of us reading God's Word together helps me stay motivated to do it. And picturing myself on the last day of December. Awesome!

Reading your comments about your thoughts while reading Job...got me excited because I've read Job before. It sounds like you are reading job correctly...
I won't spoil the ending.
Job was not a perfect man. The Bible says that there is no one perfect, not one. Job was not perfect before all the tragedies happened, he wasn't perfect during his time of grief, and he wasn't perfect...until he stood before the Lord.
There is ongoing debate among Christians about life's tragedies...
what is just caused by the fall/broken world?
what does the devil cause?
does God allow these things or does God cause these things?
I'm not going to go there...
I will say,
Romans 8:28...our God is so Almighty Big that He CAN turn anything around and use it for good.

Good Morning Friends,
G and I had a great evening with our grandson. I couldn't believe it...this morning...he got up before me! I slept in until about 8AM That was great!
Today we're going to pick around at Toys R Us and then go to lunch.
Dekrator, I join you in the well wishes for everyone to have a day of hope and joy. Your husband is blessed to have you :-)
The verses you share...have kept me through some rough times in life and in Lyme...especially verse 8.
As I remembered that verse I was able to take negative thoughts and give them to the Lord and replace them with thoughts that are "true, noble, right, pure, lovely, admirable, praiseworthy" and then I was filled with God's peace. Amazing!
Sunny out and suppose to get up to 55 degrees.
Wooooohooooo!!!!
Be sure to do something today that's FUN! We only get 1/15/2011 once!

Good evening daisy. It sounds like you may have had a wonderful time with your grandson, with the laughs of a tv program, toys and lunch. It is so much fun sharing time with the littles.
Good evening dekrator...I sure hope you are enjoying your family, and happy birthday to your husband. I have not had the opportunity to listen to the songs you posted, but I'm sure I will find some time.
Well friends, once again I found myself searching in the dictionary, the meaning of a word in which I failed to examine prior to my journey with God. PROMISE... a) to give your word that you will definitely do. b) to show signs of what may happen in the future.
In my shallow mind, the definition of promises to God were, "wam-bam thank you Sir." Does this sound like a superficial commitment? It is, how naive I was.
To give your word and do...sounds like a long term commitment. What may happen in the future...sounds like a relationship.
When I read the definition of promise again it says, "A life time committed relationship."
This is deep, instead of acting committed, I am now in a committed relationship with God. There are no exit doors when the going gets rough, because when building a relationship with God, the level of commitment increases. God promised to give insight, guidance, wisdom, and many more promises that I do not know yet, nor do I know the depth of each promise; but since I am in a relationship with God, I sure am excited and will embrace each new experience and opportunity that unfolds in my relationship with Him.
Before I took my first step on this path, my feet were callused and lacking sole. Today I am wearing shoes with laces that come untied and two left shoes when I cannot find the right. I'm hoping to invest in a pair with the shiny buckles on them, but in the meantime I will wear the pair I have on and hope to share a closet full of shoes to "good will."

Thank you for sharing the songs. Beautiful and encouraging. Great way to start this Lord's Day. I'm so glad I did. Got my mind and heart in sync and living/going/giving in the right direction.
"East to West" , I like piano music, the beginning tune so lovely...and the harmonies later in the song lovely, too.
These words I've experienced in Jesus, "In the arms of Your mercy I find rest."
"Mountain of God", "I confess from time to time I lose my way. But You are always there to bring me back again."
Yeah, I've been there...more times thank I'd like to admit. I'm thankful my Jesus is always there to bring me back again!
I saw Third Day in concert in 2009 with my son and daughter-in-love. Was blessed. Reminds me of the music I grew up with during those hippy days. I like his raspy voice.
"Does Anybody Hear Her". What a great video...I love the ending "...he is running a hundred miles an hour in the wrong direction."
"Still Here" I'd never heard that song before. Oh, I like those words, "Still Here. Staggering on. Through the impossible. We remain. Still Here...Today I am set free..."
That is us...living one day at a time...still here, through the impossible, and set free for TODAY...one day at a time.
All we have is today. We are still here! Halleloooooooo!! Why? Because God has plans for us today!!!

I am happiest when I realize that truth and walk in it!

I did enjoy the birthday dinner I had here for my husband last evening. We ate and visited until 11 pm. To top it off the Steelers won their game, so the guys were very happy about that.
Thanks for sharing your thoughts on what "promise" means and how that is a lifetime committed relationship.
I never really thought of it that way before. Two(or more) heads sure are better than one.
Sometimes you point out things that I should be thinking about, but wasn't, so thank you!

Thanks daisy, I am counting my blessings and thanking Him!
I also find Christian music beautiful and encouraging. A year ago I really could not have said that.
Thanks to you and MDW, I started listening and it has helped me.
We had a great morning at church and breakfast.
Soon it will be time to pick the boys up again and go to lunch. I like weekends...not too much cooking.
Going to that Third Day concert must have been really exciting!
I think the last concert I went to was Elton John.

Sure hope everyone had a good weekend. G and I did.
Yesterday the church service was great...both the worship and the message. The service opened with a video clip of Dr. Martin Luther King. I hope to find it on YouTube and I'll post it. It was very inspiring. He was an amazing man of God.
