So..I'm a huge Stern fan. I know some are not. But I love listening to him and am very loyal.

Today, I heard one of his side kicks, Sal Governale, describe some health problems he is having. Symptoms are:

Depersonalization, derealization, anxiety, shaking, off-balance feeling, dark circles under eyes, etc, etc.

Very lyme and Bart like.

He described how he has been to several doctors, including a neuro who did a Brain MRI, and all have said it is in his head.

Sound familiar?

I emailed the show. Hope they read it.

So..I actually called yesterday and got on the air on the Stern Show and mentioned lyme.

Today...Howard mentioned how he has received a lot of email from people saying Sal has lyme.

Only problem is, they don't know that lyme can't be easily diagnosed by a regular doctor. They are telling him to go to a mainstream MD.

Good job!!

I know... it's a problem when we are able to get someone to listen then we realize they won't get the help they need unless they go to an LLMD.

Did you mention Lymenet by any chance?

Not on air, but I have sinced emailed him directly and mentioned it. He thanked me in a reply, so I know he got it.

I have also told him to see a very prominent LLMD in Manhattan (Dr. R). Problem is, he is broke and is thinking of ordering drugs from India and self treating.

I have also emailed "Howard 100 news" and asked one of the reporters to contact this LLMD for a news story. HOpefully they will and hopefully the famous LLMD will agree to do an on-air evaluation.

My only concern:
-Most people are goofing on him telling him his symptoms are in his head (sound familiar)

-The people who believe him, aren't lyme literate and are telling him to go to a regular MD who, as we all know, will most likely give him the standard test, he will test negative, and will tell him its in his head.

How do we get an LLMD to get in touch with the show? This would have 2 benefits. 1) Sal will get better. 2) Howard would be sure to talk about it because he is a hypocondriac and hates bad doctors. This could be a good move.

Perhaps an email campaign?

Here are the emails:

General show email: [email protected]

Howard 100 news Team: [email protected]

Perhaps all can email the show and tell him to get to an LLMD and not to a regular MD. Or tell the news team to contact Dr. R.

Love him or hate him, he has millions of listeners and is one of the biggest names in media. Sal Governale needs help.

The seed has been put in his head. I'm sure once he feels bad enough, he will start doing some Lyme research and thinking about what you told him.

I really can't stand psychiatrists. I wonder how many people each day are told it's depression/anxiety when it's really Lyme. The shrinks have drugs that are hammers, and everybody looks like a nail.

Diagnosing a patient with a psychiatric illness before ruling out all other causes isn't good medicine.

I was told I was depressed and anxious before I was properly diagnosed for lyme. Direct quote "You have somatoform disorder, should seek therapy and go on prozac."

When I went to my first rheumatologist, I was sweating profusely. He asked me what I was so nervous about. I wasn't nervous. He didn't believe me. When I went to my LLMD, I was still sweating all the time. I wasn't nervous, I had dysautonomia from Lyme and Babesia and Bartonella. Such idiots!!!

good one! Sometimes a shrink will evaluate a patient and realize they are NORMAL and that they are ILL.

sometimes they hear it when yousay...just have an llmd rule it out.

or remind them lyme does have a treatment when many other conditions just have meds to control sx (depression, anx, bipolar, ms, cfs, fibro)

and tell them how it is diagnostic if hey get worse first after being on abx...and suggest they just try it

i don't put too much energy into this stuff any more...been there...done that...need to put my energy into me now
