MDW...I never thought of courage quite that way before...very, very, true. Unfortunately for me, I can relate to Pilate...when the crowd got unruly...he took the chicken way out, even though he knew that Jesus was innocent.
How many times have I NOT said something to someone about the Lord because I was afraid of who was listening or I was afraid of what the person might think?
How many times have I NOT stood up for the Lord and claimed Him as my friend and savior because it would make other people uncomfortable?
I readily forget, that the Lord is the one I am beholding to...only Him.

I am back, but not sure for how long. Hope to share more of my thoughts.
Dkat,
I like what your paster shared Sunday. Yes,hmmm. I do take many coffee breaks, and have felt like I have moved out of town the last couple months, and been on vacation. Been a bit guilty of not spending the time in church and attending Bible class.
Father does not take a snooze on the couch or take long vacations, He does not even take a coffee break, think He should...Father created something great with that tiny bean called coffee well, I guess if I want to be more like Jesus and I would like more of Fathers wisdom.....I need to spend more time with Him.
Ann Grahm Lotz says (I really like her teachings)....
Knowing God involves an intimate, personal relationship that is developed over time through prayer and getting answers to prayer, through Bible study and applying it's teaching to our lives, through obedience and experiencing the power of God, through moment-by moment submission to Him that results in a moment-by-moment filling of the Holy Spirit.
Praying for you.
Be back....

Soooo much wisdom.
Daisy, I read a quote on fb....Corrie ten Boom
Freedom is not the right to do what we want but the power to do what we ought.
you share "I was reminded of that verse in Deuteromomy 30:19, "Today I have given you the choice between life and death, between blessings and curses. Now I call on heaven and earth to witness the choice you make. Oh, that you would choose life, so that you and your descendants might live!"
Life is made up of choices. Each day we can make countless decisions that could bring us closer to Father or not. We must live according to Fathers commandments, then we earn for ourselves the abundance of peace and blessings. But when we turn our backs upon Father by ignoring Him, or disobeying.... then we bring needless pain upon ourselves and family. I need to trust His councel He gives. And when He speaks to my heart with that quiet voice....I need to listen, and when I do, I will be blessed.
Praying for you dear friend.
Payne, I have not forgotten you, but I need to take some excedrin, be back.....

MDW...so glad your back! I agree with your thoughts on coffee ('specially the dunkin donuts brand-I get the big bag from SAMS).
I really like Ann Graham Lotz, too. The answered prayer touched my heart. Really need to remember all the times God has blessed me..and thank Him more.
Dekrator~I'm so sorry you didn't get released from this doc yet. There's always some thing happening to drizzle the $ out of our pockets.
momindeep-i like your write. I never thought of being like pilate, but, you're right. Too often I am like him. Always makes me ashamed of myself when I fail to stand tall for my Lord.
Too tired to think to write more...it's been a long day. I want to relax and check out the Israel site sammy posted. The ultimate earth vacation from home. Thanks sammy.

Smiles and hugs.
Payne,
Barbara Johnson, (another one I enjoy) says....
When we bring sunshine into the lives of others, we're warmed by it ourselves. When we spill a little happiness, it splashes on us.
Father promises us lives of abundance and joy, but He does not force His joy upon us. We must claim His joy for ourselves, and when we do, He fills our spirits with His power and love. He will transform us not just for today, but always and we can share Fathers joy and His message with the world that needs both.
Prayers for you.

The life she knew was to live one day at a time and be blessed in it...and return those blessing to others the next... That way God will wake you for another day.. to do His Will. Dekrator, there is a beautiful male ruby throated hummingbird that comes to my feeder and nearby flowers every day. I've been trying to get a picture of him to post for you. He has the brilliant emerald green body, shiny black head, and bright ruby throat. He's so perfect and beautiful, like a flying jewel.
Every time I see him I quick turn on my camera and he flies to the other side of the feeder or leaves. He seems much more shy than the females. I like the females too, they are pretty and curious. They squeak and hover right in front of my face, like they always want to see what I'm doing. They are funny birds.
I'll keep my camera out and hopefully I'll get a good picture to share soon.

Good Morning,
Oh, there are a lot of posts since the last time I shared. Looks like you all went and had church without me. Hah!
It's been hectic recently...I'll try to catch up this morning while I'm at work...during my breaks.
Think I'll wait to start a new God Thought thread until next week since it's already Wednesday. (That ok?) Plus the encouragement is especially helpful...and I think quite a few people need this right now and will be blessed and lifted up as they read your posts.
I know I have been blessed and lifted up. Thank you for sharing.
Lamentations 3:22-24, "The steadfast love of the LORD never ceases, his mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is thy faithfulness. "The LORD is my portion," says my soul, "therefore I will hope in him."

Good eve, family.
Could you help me? I have been reading a Ann Graham Lotz study...and I feel a wee bit s-t-u-p-i-d. I am suppose to "fill in the blank"....I praise You for Your ____________________. My homework is to make a list of every characteristic of Jesus I can think of, and praise Him for who He is.
Soooo, hmm.... So...Yes, I am having to change the light bulb! How about the fruit of the Spirit? Are these characteristics?
You are not laughing at me, are you?

MDW, You are very wise. Maybe that's one of those tricker questions. A couple of things I would say are .... I praise You for Your faithfulness, power, love, majesty, patience with me, for your Word, for your promise to prepare a place for me and that You will come for me, for Your truth and kindness. (It says alot to me that kids wanted to be near Him~He is fun and trustworthy and a safe haven).

It's good to hear that you enjoyed your vacation very much.
I praise Jesus for his glory, for His forgiveness, for His constant presence, for being my teacher...
payne,
Your grandmother was a wise woman. Thank you for sharing that.
sammy,
I'm thrilled to hear that your insurance will cover your treatments!
I would love to see a picture of the beautiful ruby throated hummingbird that comes to your feeder if you can get him to hang around to get his picture taken.
daisy,
You just take your time starting a new thread...no rush dear friend.
We will just keep posting here until a new thread pops up.
Lamentations 3:22-24 is very hopeful. Thank you for sharing it.
DKat,
Thanks for the birthday wishes! I had a great day. This eve we went to the park with our grandsons and had lots of fun.
That hummingbird video is AWESOME!
I hope everyone watches it when they get a chance. For anyone who hasn't seen it yet, they use special lenses and cameras to catch hummingbirds feeding and interacting up close and in slow motion in nature.
It's absolutely beautiful!! Thank you for sharing it.
I pray everyone has a peaceful and restful night.
Hugs to all!

Good afternoon God Thought family,
I might jump around in my thoughts. This morn when I came here, God thought had been quiet for a couple days, I realized some of us might be a wee bit busy doing for our Lord, for ourselves, or just too ill to post.
How, I do at times take for granted that someone will be here to bring a smile to my face. It is so important that we help restore laughter and joy to the lives of others. keeping them looking forward to today and the days ahead for love and hope. Sharing our thoughts reminds us of what connects us, what makes us.....Thats a good thing. But I have not been sharing as often...I guess just waiting for someone else to do the chatting for me.
One day everything was fine. Then a headache, or a bloody nose or pain that was too horrific for someone to imagine....you all know the story of your own tornment you live with...life as you knew it came to a screeching hault. In a short time your world was turned upside down. Future plans have been put on hold.
Stessed, overwhelmed, concerned, helpless, uncertain, and depressed are all words I have read or heard recently, even out of my own mouth. How are we going to pay the bills.... Children, men and women in need of antibiotics. People are feeling the effects of this disease, the economy....worry.
What do we do with these questions that seem to have no answer? How do we explain something that makes no sense at all?
Trials come. They hurt. They cause stress and concern. Well, guess what? It helps to know that none of these trials goes unnoticed by our Lord. As a child trusts mom or dad when life hurts, our loving God calls us into His loving arms. In our sufferings, He draws us closer to Him. Lord, wrap us in your embrace today.
Where did we ever get the idea we were supposed to be able to handle the weight of life all by ourselves? Our Father takes up our burdens, and gives us peace. Thank you Jesus for that, and please don't let me forget it.
If we call out to God and say, " I can't do this," then His answer back to you will be humbling, and yet very clear..."You're right, you can't do it....but I can."
We do have some control left in our life. It has to do with what we pay attentiion to, what we allow our minds to focuss on. Healing may take some time, but we have hope. Lets keep our mind focussed on Jesus.
Please dear Father, take my face in Your hands like a small child so I will focus my eyes on You.

MDW, Can I say Amen twice to your write? It is exactly what I need to hear today!
Spent yesterday canning pickles & making pepper jelly...then cleaning up the mess, etc.
Late yesterday & today my body has been in revolt.
I look forward to being healed. For now, I'm thankful that Jesus paid for our healing and He is big enough to bring us into it.
With you I say, Please dear Father, take my face in Your hands like a small child so I will focus my eyes on You.

Faith is a spiritual force. Faith in God is a response to God's Word which moves God to act. Jesus said in Mark 11:23, "For assuredly I say to you, whoever SAYS to this mountain, 'Be removed and cast into the sea,' and does not doubt in his heart, but BELIEVES that those things he SAYS will be done, he will HAVE whatever he SAYS. " Words mixed with the real, pure faith can and will move mountains or any other problem that we face wayne have a Blessed and faithfilled weekend

Good morning God Thought family,
Dekrator, What a way to start my morning. Thank you for sharing Christ Notes. A couple lines to share that jump started my heart in the earlier morn.
"Ingest and digest God's glory. We're not supposed to just hear about God's glory or see his glory at a distance, we need to taste God for ourselves."
"Let God get in you and become a part of your identity"
Have a wonderful day.

Dear God Thought Friends,
I just got some bad news....and believe it or not, my daughter (who hasn't talked to me in 1 1/2 yrs) called to tell me.
My cousin and my aunt (my cousin's Mom) were in a car accident today and my aunt was killed.
That is all I know right now. I heard my cousin is alright.
Please pray for my cousin Sue and her family. My aunt's name is Ellin.
Thank you family.

Lord Jesus, wrap your loving arms around Dekrator and all her family. Holy Spirit we know you are the great Counselor and Comforter. I pray they all feel Your comforting love around them right now! Lord, give the doctors treating Sue, Supernatural wisdom in how to treat and heal her. Protect her heart and mind Lord. And Father if it be Your will, I pray for healing and restoration in the broken mother/daughter relationship.
Strengthen and protect Dekrator in the following days Lord. Remind her to rest and bring all her burdens to You. Also Lord, please remind her that at ANY TIME she can crawl up in Your lap, rest her head on Your shoulders, be held by Your arms, and be rocked to sleep in Your loving embrace. It's in Your matchless, mighty Name I pray, Jesus!

Here is what I am told happened:
My sister called and said that my cousin Sue was driving and someone pulled across the highway in front of her.
She tried to avoid the collision but could not.
After the collision they went off the road and hit something concrete.
My cousin Sue is physically ok, just banged up...and she is staying overnight in the hospital.
My Mother is a wreck, Ellin is her sister.
My Uncle Arden is a wreck, Ellin's husband.
I'm sure alot of people are a wreck right now.
Two of Ellin's grown children, Dave and Lorie, (Sue's siblings) live in Missouri.
Ellin and Arden recently moved back to PA after living in MO for awhile.
Lord please comfort my whole family right now.

Once again I am so thankful that "God Thought" is about God and not about any one person. I've not been able to be around the past few days and I knew the brothers and sisters in Christ would be taking care of one another.
So much is going on in your lives as I catch up on the God Thought thread. Oh my friends, my heart feels your joys and sorrows. I do keep you in my prayers.
I can see that God is being faithful and using you to care and minister to one another.
These verses come to my mind,
"Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up. Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all people, especially to those who belong to the family of believers" (Galatians 6:9-10, NIV).

I read on that page that she is now 8 years old and she lost her Mom to ovarian cancer almost 3 years ago...so sad.
Rhema is so talented and will be a blessing to many people.
Thank you for sharing that, sammy.

Good Morning Sammy, Thanks for the link. Sad about Rhemy...amazing what our God can do with tragedies of life.
I, too, find myself checking in often before I hit the hay too for any "last minute" prayer requests or praises.
Good Morning Dekrator, I'm continuing to pray for your precious family. I know everyone on God Thought is praying. May God undergird you all by His love and spirit. May you find comfort in the Comforter.
Well, it's past time to start a new God Thought thread ... see you all there (know I'm forgetting many...sorry)
