Just wanted to update on my friend's son. His fever broke at 3:30 am.

He was able to avoid a spinal tap because he tested positive for strep throat. He has tolerated food today. T

The doctor wants to keep him at the hospital while a see if his temperature remains normal with no meds.

Praise GOD!

Have been reading the posts but haven't formulated my thoughts to reply. Good stuff.

I need you all to pray. My daughter was diagnosed with strep throat last week. She was given an antibiotic and seemed to improve.

Yesterday she began complaining of headache, stomachache, and was very dizzy.

This morning she had the same symptoms plus muscle weakness in the legs and sore knees.

We will be calling the doctor this morning.

So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God.

I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.

Thanks for the greetings.

Beautiful songs and scriptures. It is so very uplifting to come to God Thought.

So glad to read the good reports...especially involving children.

There are a few flowers beginning to grow through the dirt, only see the daffodil stems, no yellow blooms. Winter's been mild here (so far). I am soooo glad.

Healing prayers to all reading this.

The psalmist writes in 90:2,
"Before the mountains were born or you brought forth the earth and the world, from everlasting to everlasting you are God."

Good afternoon God Thought family,

Dkat...Soon your flowers will be in bloom, glittering snow is beautiful also and you can see bird prints in the snow...how cool is that!
I enjoyed listening to the song you share, and prayers too, thanks.

soccermama... great news you share with us about your friends son. Hopefully he can go home and continue to heal completely. I am sorry to hear about your daughter, may God give you comfort in knowing that He is control, and may He place you and your daughter in is healing arms and hold you both. Yes I will pray for your daughter.

Dekrator...I did very much enjoy watching and listening to your grand-littles. Beautiful that you are encouraging them and they have the love in their hearts. Do you also have the words memorized to these songs, and sing along with them? Sounds like a joyful ride in the car.

Daisy..thanks for the greet and prayers busy lady. Praying for you also. Thats a pretty psalm.

I do not really have a thought this day, I guess I might just need to be still for a short bit, and go enjoy all the birds and squirrels in my yard for now and a hot cup of coffee...bit of a chill in the air this day.
Good day and waving back at you Dekrator.

I look forward to when Roy Lessin has a new message/devotion to share in "Meet me in the Meadow," his sight. Here is todays I share with you. have a peaceful eve, God Thought family....

Run To Jesus

Run to Jesus! The name of the Lord is a strong tower; The righteous run to it and are safe. Proverbs 18:10 NKJV

Is there a trial you are facing, a difficulty you are walking through, a sorrow you are carrying, a burden you are bearing, or a heartache that is causing you pain?

You are not alone in these trying times or through these difficult circumstances. There is one alone who is a very present help in time of need. In Jesus you have a Warrior who has won the battle, a Champion who has defeated the foe, a Conqueror who will lead you in triumph.

He is your Light in the darkest night, your Companion in the deepest valley, your Guide through the densest forest, your Rock on the shakiest ground, your Shelter from the strongest storm, your Oasis in the driest desert, your Captain on the roughest seas.

He is Master, Savior, Healer, Deliverer, Shepherd, and Friend. In His name is your strong and high tower. He is your security, your shelter, your shield.

Run to Jesus! Run to His name. Run to His love. Run to His care. Run to His strength. Run in faith. Run in confidence. Run with all your heart and be safe.

ps..oops, this was yesterdays...day late on sharing. But thats ok, still great message.

Hi daisy! Something tells me you have alot on your plate right now! That's a beautiful psalm...almost too overwhelming to even imagine.

Hi MDW! Thanks! Yep, I have the words memorized also and sing along with the boys. That is an accurate description...a joyful ride!

I really enjoyed Roy Lessin's write..thanks for sharing it. I was going to pick my favorite part of it...but when I reread it...the whole thing is my favorite...I think I should print that out and read it often. Very good, encouraging message for sure!

Nighty night!!

Well, they posted something yesterday that they were still looking for a surgeon... so pray for that.

Apparently, his tumor is nearly dead but he has a large cyst there. They need to remove it. He was doing very poorly for awhile (falling, etc) but is now doing well.

Still, the cyst/tumor has to come out.

I think there is a lot of hope!--

--
And Caleb is breaking world records ( [Wink] ) in his recovery! He is able to talk, sing, and is working on the walking part. His brain is a bit messed up, but it's all looking GOOD!!

They just removed his trach yesterday. He's eating pureed foods and they hope to remove his feeding tube (in his side) soon.

PRAISE GOD!!!

I just wanted to update on my daughter. The doctor thinks she developed a secondary sinus infection as a result of the strep.

He put her on another antibiotic for ten days. He thinks her dizziness was a result of inner ear imbalance due to sinus.

He tested for potassium levels and inflammation in the muscles for her muscle weakness in her legs.

Today she seemed like a different child. I am going to be sending an e-mail to my LLMD to see if she thinks we need to test her.

I have the ability to treat with different herbals that I have around the house.

I am going to be watching closely.

I put my trust in God alone. In Him comes my salvation.

Hi soccermama,

That is good news that your daughter is doing better today. I am thankful to hear that.

It does sound like a reasonable explanation, so I pray that this other antibiotic takes care of her symptoms.

Thanks for updating us!

Big hugs and I hope you sleep well tonight!

Good morning God Thought family

This Valentine morning I wake to Jesus on my mind. Even if we do not think we have someone to love us on this day, or for us to share love in return for another, we do... Jesus is our true love and with as grand a heart as His, we have much love in our hearts to share...

"This Is my commandment, that you love one another as I have loved you."

I had a song that came to my mind this Valentine Day

Be Thou My Vision.... one of my favorite versions of this song

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vROU_N-FYdY&feature=related

If you have a special song this day, I would love to enjoy listening to your choice.
I hope your day be filled with love. [group hug]

Hi MDW,

You said just what I was thinking today...so thank you!

That is a beautiful hymn that you posted. I enjoyed listening.

There are many songs about love that I could post, but this one comes to mind because I recently saw Audrey Assad in concert with Matt Maher.

"For Love Of You" by Audrey Assad:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N9TSXCrMInY

I am thankful today for the love of family and friends, and even more thankful for God's love....what more could we ask for?

Happy Valentine's Day friends! [kiss]

There has been further developments on my daughter. She started twitching last night and didn't stop.

I finally gave her an ativan but she still continued to twitch. Her whole body was twitching like muscle spasms.

She could not bear her weight. I finally called 911 and they transported her to the hospital.

By the time we got seen by the doctor, the medicine had kicked in.

The doctor did not think she had a seizure. She believes that the twitching is stress induced brought on by my illness.

All I know is I had a reasonably, emotionally healthy child until we put her on antibiotics.

Just dropping by to read some of your posts. I have not been feeling great. I made an appointment to see Dr. H in NY. My family is going to help with the money. I am truly blessed. They pushed me to do this and I feel it is time.

OH Lymetoo that is such wonderful news about Gage and Caleb both.

soccermama, I will pray for your daughter, that sounds like a horrible experience to endure.

Where is Sammy? I hope all is well.
Praying for all of you. Big hugs and Happy Valentines day to all of you xoxoxo

MDW, What a way to wake up...thinking of Jesus!
I like the songs. Thanks to you & Dekrator for sharing.

I'm reading an Anne Graham Lotz book now and wanted to listen to her. That's how I came across this. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-8i460c3ejw

Happy Valentines Day friends!

MDW, thank you for reminding us that Jesus is our true love!

I just wanted to let you all know that I'm here. I've been following your posts with prayer requests and updates.

I've been thinking of you and praying for YOU ALL every day [Smile]

I've been wanting to respond and give you all an update but when I've tried my brain hasn't cooperated. Sorry about that.

Yesterday was my IVIG day, finally! I'll give you an analogy so that you can understand how important this is to me. For the past 2wks I've essentially been crashing, it's like I'm trying to drive/run my car (body) on fumes. Well it only goes a little bit then you have to stop. Last 10 days I was pretty much... a useless blob of sick. I don't know how else to describe how I felt/was. Bad. I needed refueling.

Even though I'm on a full treatment protocol with a good LLMD my immune system is weak. The antibiotics can only do so much. They help hold the infections in check but I need my immune system to really fight. My immune system needs the IVIG.

Sadly, I am still struggling with that skin infection on my chest over the IV port site. It starts to look better then flares and gets worse again. I have a few days left of the medicine. I have to call and make an appt with the doctor tomorrow (thanks for reminding me because my jello brain did not think of this last week). I was supposed to continue the medicine one week after the infection cleared. And it hasn't cleared yet... So I need to f/u and get more medicine. I think this is the 7th week that we've been trying to treat it.

So I'm super nervous and excited to have an appt with the head of the immunology dept at a well respected hospital in Cinci on 2/29. My appt can't come soon enough!

I hope and pray that this doctor will take interest in my case, will want to help me, and be able to help me with a new treatment plan (like more frequent IVIG!). I also hope that she will be open to working with my LLMD. (There is always that fear of Lyme skepticism in the medical community...).

Oh hugs for my friends [Smile] Seems like we are all going through some challenging times right now. At least we know that we never walk alone.

Good afternoon God Thought family

Dekrator....I enjoyed listening to your song choice and the reason you chose, beautiful song. I also like the idea of us sharing thoughts for a morning of the same...Jesus.

DKat.... two of my favorite people, Anne Graham Lotz and Ortega Fernando. What an ear and heart full message and song...Give me Jesus. Almost make me tear, so beautiful. I have been working on one of Anne's books for over a year now...I am a very slow reader, plus I get side tracked and read another book. I think I have a few started and not completed. Anyway the book I been reading of hers is called, "I Saw The Lord"...Might finish this year. I am with you, I had to peek at all the signature lines since you pointed them out...truths...Beautiful.

Soccermama...I do pray you find answers real soon for your daughter. I will continue prayers for healing for the two of you and God give you peace while you wait patiently.

flutterby...family are beautiful people and hopefully for most of us we can count on them when in need for one reason or another. Family is a blessing. I pray your trip is a safe one and you find the answers to a healthy treatment plan that fits best in healing needs for you.

Sammy....Sammy, Sammy, what are we going to do with you dear? We just keep on swimming, praying, treating...I have some bandaids for you and gentle hugs. Patience and courage...Jesus is our healer...He's our all. I will continue praying for you, Sammy.

Well, I had a busy morning. I went to the school this morning and watched my little man run in the Boosterthon Fun Run. He ran 37 laps...I best pay up...good thing it was $1.00 a lap! He tryed to get me to pay five. It was a smile morning and the weather is sooo warm this day in my corner of the world. I be sitting outside listening to all the sounds around me.
Have a peaceful afternoon/eve everyone that has come to God Thought. Ok, chat another day with you.

I had one more thought... Hmm, yes, I was reading a small but powerful note recently about never be shaken. One of the Psalms in this message was Psalm 33:11 "The Lord's plans stand forever; His intentions can never be shaken."

God has given us a promise that resonates deep within our soul. We know it and His deep peace fills us when we pray. Yet, sometimes we see obstacles arise that appear to block our way. We may be tempted to doubt..but don't.

No impediment can hinder God's wonderful plans for us. God is faithful and will carry us out. God's word to us will never be broken.

Then we have Psalm 33:3-4
Sing new songs of praise to him; play skillfully on the harp and sing with joy. For the word of the Lord holds true, and everything He does is worthy of trust.

Praying for all above!! My buddies, my Christian friends. [group hug]

I was so blessed today to be called by someone who was wanting to help a young man stay straight. He didn't quite know why he called ME. (I couldn't figure it out either.)

But I ended up praying with him over the phone and we prayed for this young man to find direction. I got goosebumps while praying. God was telling me, "I've got it covered!")

Such a privilege we have when we can do that for someone. The man who called me was one of our first friends in the music business when we moved here 16 yrs ago.

DKat.. our women's group at church is doing a study by Ann G. Lotz .. Into the Word. Thought provoking!

Update on Gage...

Quote:

"Gage will have surgery Monday morning. I feel so sad for him. Breaks my heart to have to put him through another surgery. I know we don't have a choice at this point but I wish we did.

Please pray for all of us. Dane wants to be there this time and Daelynn might want to come. Pray for them. Pray Andie does OK without her buddy around. Pray for our surgeon Dr. Fletcher. Pray God takes complete control of his hands and guides his every move."

Believing,

Missy

Gage's surgery has been moved to Tuesday.

--

The outpouring of love and encouragement has been amazing. Thank you so much. However, we are now having surgery TUESDAY instead of Monday. Gage goes in at 7:30am and we will be arriving at 5:30am. (yikes) It will take around 6 -7 hours.

We will be in ICU for a while then on the floor for about 4-7 days. We will be at Hermann Memorial Children's Hospital in the med center. I think if you look on the hospital web site you can send Gage an e cards and they will be delivered to him.

If you think about it send him one or two. He will get a huge kick out of getting "mail." We will be having a sample of the tumor analyzed and sent to an oncologist in Boston to look at.

He will see what it is and see if he can offer any gene targeted treatment for Gage. We will also have a sample sent to New York to look at another idea of a treatment. We are still hopeful that ANP is the way to go but like to have our foot in the door all over the place.

Pray the tumor is dead. DEAD!!!! I will update during the surgery and throughout the week. Have a great weekend and time with your family.

Believing,

Missy

Good morning friends!

Lymetoo,

How wonderful that you were able to pray with that friend who was trying to help a young man.

I'm believing with you that "God has it covered."

I'm still praying for Gage and also believing that God will guide his surgeon to perform successful surgery and Gage will be healed.

Also prayers for strength and comfort for Gage and his family.

Thanks for the update. I'll be anticipating a good report after the surgery!

Hope everyone has a wonderful weekend.

Still praying for everyone!! Jesus, I trust in You!!

Good afternoon God Thought family,

Prayer's..oh yes, said them this morning. Gosh I am enjoying chatting with our Lord. He is much on my mind and in so many things I do through out my day, even when I am just sweeping a floor...I chat with Him now instead of myself.

I was reading this day, a devotional by Martha...hmm... Martha Noebel and wanted to share a piece she had to say..

I felt God drop this "pearl" into my heart. It is the acronym for the word changes:

Christ
Has
A
New
Gift
Each
Second

Wow! We can look at each new day and even each second as an opportunity for God to bless us! Each moment contains a gift from God if we want to look for it. It can be in a smile from someone at work, an encouraging word from a friend, God's Word speaking to our hearts, or a pat on the back from our bosses. The list is endless. Let's not overlook the obvious ones like a promotion, good report cards from our children, a Sunday school child who calls us his or her hero, an unexpected financial blessing, a whole week without something breaking in the house.

In Malachi 3:6, God says, "For I am the Lord, I change not." Isn't that comforting? With all the changes, there is one thing that cannot change... GOD. This includes His great love for us.

He also says in His Word,

"So God has given us both his promise and his oath. These two things are unchangeable because it is impossible for God to lie. Therefore, we who have fled to him for refuge can take new courage, for we can hold on to his promise with confidence" (Hebrews 6:18, The Book).

What has God promised you? He has promised to never leave you nor forsake you, no matter what.
"For the Lord will not cast off His people, neither will He forsake His inheritance" (Psalm 94:14, KJV).

"...for He hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee" (Hebrews 13:5, KJV).

So let the changes come. We will not walk in fear, but in faith! We will trust God with all the changes, and know that He is more than able to help us and that He even has plans to bless us.

Every second, if need be, we can find a blessing. Changes can be our friend. Let's look for God in them.

The whole Bible has pretty words, but wow, I sure do enjoy reading a KJV now and again, scripture flows so beautifully with "thee" and "hath." Have a blessed weekend. Oh, by the way...the word blessed... the Lord sure does like that word "bless," "blessed" I noticed, He uses this little word right from the beginning..in the book of Genesis is where blessed starts. [group hug]

--------------------
God's promises mean you always have something wonderful to look forward to.

OK.. I HAVE to get a copy of Jesus Calling!!

Report on Caleb ...

Caleb passed his test
It's the news we have enjoyed hearing all the years of Caleb's schooling. "I passed my test." Sometimes we had higher expectations than just passing and other times we were just glad he passed.

Today we were not looking for a score, just to hear Caleb passed his swallow test and now is back to eating anything he desires. He is eating so well and so many things he would never have eaten before. He makes a 'happy plate' at every meal.

Caleb is doing well with his therapies. Each therapy session works not only on their concentration but also on the whole goal of helping Caleb get better both physically and mentally.

In Caleb's awakening moments following a nap he has to be reoriented to where he is and why he is there. This continues to cause a nervousness he expresses. He will ask us if everything is okay between God and him.

It's so wonderful to be able to assure Caleb that his relationship with God is right and God is being glorified through the circumstances. I received several texts today that were amazed at how Jesus Calling spoke to us today. It read:

"Thank Me for the conditions that are requiring you to be still. Do not spoil these quiet hours by wishing them away, waiting impatiently to be active again.

Some of the greatest works in My kingdom have been done from sick beds and prison cells. Instead of resenting the limitations of a weakened body, search for MY way in the midst of these very circumstances.

Limitations can be liberating when your strongest desire is living close to Me. Quietness and trust enhance your awareness of My Presence with you. Do not despise these simple ways of serving Me.

Although you feel cut off from the activity of the world, your quiet trust makes a powerful statement in spiritual realms. My strength and Power show themselves most effective in weakness."

God has spoken so clearly to us in the journey.

Quietness just isn't really a strong suit for us. Sales and teaching occupations do not require or encourage quietness. It does require a discipline which goes against our grain. That's why we must trust.

Jesus did not tell His disciples to obey. He told them to trust Him and then obedience was the by-product of trust. I find it so convicting that quietness precedes trust.

Be quiet and..... Trust in the Lord with all your heart.
The Lord is good, a refuge in times of trouble. He loves those who (are quiet) and trust in Him.
When I am afraid I will (be quiet) and trust in Thee.

Please continue to pray for us to be quiet and trust God as we make decisions about where Caleb should continue therapy following being at TIRR. Please continue to pray for Caleb to be less nervous and more attentive to the work being done for him.

Please pray for Caleb and his visitors this weekend, that he would handle having guests well.
May we thank you again and again for your support. Your prayers are gifts of gold....... God-gifts. We are blessed. Deb & Kurt

Lymetoo...That was awesome! I need a copy also of Jesus Calling. I forgot to mention earlier how sweet and glorious it must have been for you to share in prayer with a person God called into your life. So cool, have a great weekend, lymetoo.

Wow, great devotional message, MDW! I enjoyed reading it.

I can picture you chatting with God while you work around the house, MDW...and I think you may even whistle while you work. [Smile]

Wonderful report on Caleb, Lymetoo! Praise God!

His parents, Deb and Kurt sound like the most wonderful people. They write beautiful journal entries on Caringbridge.

That is amazing how "Jesus Calling" spoke right to their situation. Not an accident by any means.

I will continue to pray for Caleb daily.

Thanks, MDW! You really did write some cool stuff up there!

I just went to ABE Books and purchased a new copy of Jesus Calling for around $10!!

www.abebooks.com

I don't know Kurt very well, but have gotten to "know him" thru his writings over the past month! Deborah is a jewel. I had the pleasure of working with her for several years. Even back then she would read Chuck Swindoll during school! [Big Grin]

She has a great sense of humor too!

Hi payne!

It's good to see you here. Sorry that you have been having a rough time. May God send you healing and comfort.

Praying for all of us, and especially for little Gage, since he is scheduled for brain surgery tommorrow (Tues) at 7:30 am Texas time.

Heavenly Father, please guide Gage's surgeon's hands to do exactly what is right to remove all of the malignant tumor and cyst from Gage's brain.

Please comfort Gage and his family and fill them with supernatural peace and strength to get through this time.

Lord, please give all the medical team the wisdom they need to properly care for Gage so that he does not suffer and so that he will heal quickly and without complications.

Lord, I ask that Gage will be totally free of cancer, that he will live a long life serving You, and that his healing will bring others to reconciliation with You.

I pray all this in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. Amen

Hi All, Praying and praying for all of you. Please pray for my Dr. H appointment tomorrow, but most of all for my deep dark depression I can feel myself sinking into. My youngest daughter tested positive. The one with the excema and sinus infections.

IGG on 18 and 41
IGM on anaplasma

I am kicking myself for spending the $$ on me tomorrow. I pray her treatment will be nothing like mine.

fflutterby, Praying for you and your appointment tomorrow. I'm so glad you are taking care of you and your daughter.

It would not help to only treat her. You must be healed and strong too.

Praise & worship music will help lift your eyes to the Healer. Soon your heart will follow!

Lord, thank you for guiding flutter to your path of healing, that You give wisdom to Dr. H and peace and joy to 'flutter'. May she and her daughter receive Your healing and provision and dance with You in joy & health. [group hug]

Please pray for my cousin Lori's young daughter, Amaya. She had a near-fatal allergic reaction last night. (Not sure what the reaction was to)

Amaya is in DC Children's Hospital in critical condition. The medical team worked on her for an hour to bring her back.

Amaya and her family need lots of prayers right now. Thank you, friends!

OH flutter, I'm so sorry to hear this!! Do NOT feel guilty about spending money to get yourself well! You know the principal of the oxygen mask in an airplane, right??

Take care of yourself first so you can take care of your family.

Praying for amaya.. so frightening!!! May God heal her quickly and bring comfort to all involved.

praying also for little Gage today. I haven't heard anything yet

UPDATE!!! I'm crying with joy!!! [Smile]

--

He's done!!! It's all out!!! Amazing. I am heading back to hold my baby. My brother, Ben, who is a physician, will update the rest of this! yipeeee!!

The surgeon is confident that he removed all or almost all of the tumor. He says Gage is in recovery and moving all 4 extremities.

The surgery took significantly less time than expected. A frozen section was not performed in the operating room. A frozen section is a quick, on-site pathology report of tissue removed at the time of surgery.

The tumor tissue was cystic on the outside and solid tumor on the inside according to the surgeon. It will be sent to 2 labs for genetic analysis. We are very thankful for a good report and thankful to all of you who have believed with us for complete healing.

Friends,

It is with a sad heart that I tell you that dear little 8 year old Amaya was declared brain dead at 4 pm today and has gone to Heaven.

She had an anaphylactic reaction to soymilk which she drank many times before.

Her Mom (my cousin) Lori, who is a cath lab tech, performed CPR on Amaya.

She had an anoxic brain injury from which she could not recover.

Please pray for her very devastated family. [Frown]
