This may be a dud of an idea, but I thought it would be nice to try to have a Lymenet reunion for those who have "walked these halls" in years gone by (and for those still here that need encouragement).
I don't mean an actual physical reunion, of course, but a thread where members simply sign in and just say Hi, or perhaps express an appreciation or a fond old memory of some sort.
I look back at many threads and see SO many great people who have been a part and have contributed so much to discussions in times past and wonder if they still check in (or follow the discussions) from time to time, and thought it would be nice to have just a short hello to acknowledge their support, remembrance, and "fondness" of Lymenet or the persons here at the time.
It would be nice to see an overwhelming show of members from over the years that would encourage those still presently in the trenches, and to show how strong of a force the lyme family is; ...kinda like a rally right here for those who cannot get out for real rallies.
I realize the real drawback is that many have gone on with life, and even those members who do watch current discussions on Lymenet have forgotten their sign in info.
And, unfortunately some have left with bad feelings over heated discussions and have probably vowed to never come here again.
And I know some have stopped visiting lymenet because the unending suffering creates negativity that tends to drag us down.
But, I have learned so much here and really appreciate all those who have contributed to the discussions both now and in the past!
So, I say "cheers" to the family here!

I have been here since day one - 1993 - actually Lymenet predates that, and I think we should all raise a glass to the lovely people who started the ball rolling. Ann - OH

Well, good luck with that. Over the years, I have sometimes sent private messages to people, inquiring as to their welfare, or letting them know that they have an old thread that's come up again.
Sometimes they reply, but most of the time not.

Well, I'm definitely one of the "older than dirt" on here - both in age and the fact I joined many years ago. I check in often and read a lot, but I don't post much anymore. Seems that when I do, it kinda stops the discussion and some insulting replies didn't help either. I try to hold on to just the good memories.
I continue to be a Green Santa and think of these friends often during the year. Also, I recommend LymeNet to most who call our Hotline because there are so many informed and caring people here who continue to give so much of themselves.
Can't say enough nice things about all of you who have shared valuable info through the years.
I learned of Dr. J who cured my grandson of Lyme and Bartonella!!!
I was diagnosed with LD in 1992, but with the information you shared, I was also diagnosed with Bartonella and Babesiosis around 2001. A LLMD in NYC keeps all three pretty much under control. As Aunt Shirley would say, "I'm still upright and taking nourishment."
I can honestly say that Lyme has been one of the biggest blessings of my life! I've met so many wonderful people, but most of all, my grandson would never have been diagnosed with TBDs. His Pediatrician wouldn't even test him and didn't agree with our taking the child to CT for treatment. As the concerned grandmother, I sent him a nice letter with excellent info about Lyme, but he didn't change his opinion. How sad!!
For my age, I can't complain and I continue to do all I can for the LD Network of South Carolina. I'm about all that's left....some moved away, some are too sick to help, and others have drifted off in frustration.
I want to say Hi to everyone and send a big "thank you" for all you've done to help my family and me!! I'll always be grateful. Posts: 4638 | From South Carolina | Registered: Mar 2001

LymeNet has saved many, many life’s, and has helped many thousands upon thousands of sick people.
I’d like to thank everyone that started LymeNet back in (1991), & created the web-site in (1993).
I’d also like to thank the moderators for all their time they donate to ALL of us, “Thank you”.
When I found LymeNet back in 2008, I was at the end of my road, and I was desperate for answers.
So many people were willing to ans. all my questions, and most of them were so sick themselves.
I made a decision at that point to try and comfort as many sick people as possible. I’m still sick, like many of us here, but functional.
Back in 2008 I would be logged on to LymeNet 24x24, and researching at the same time. My family didn’t understand these diseases, and they still don’t get it!
I've had disagreements here many times throughout the years, but in the end, I know we’re just trying to help each other.
Happy 23rd reunion
Steve

Prime rib should also be on the menu.

Well, I ain't older then dirt but feel so glad to be part of this community even if I am not here all that often these days. I am chronic but spend more time in remission then not these days. But nice to have a "secure base" to come back to when needed as well as to help others!
