NATCAPLYME just wrapped up and in order for our bill to pass and for Lyme to get attention me MUST band together. We MUST show our lyme green colors everywhere. If you can aske your townships if you could put ribbons around municiple bldgs. telephone poles anywhere it would help. It will bring questions that we can answer. Awareness. This is so ease but we all have to try. Please. we need a cure.

well, i stopped at hardware store and bought 1" lyme ribbon; i cut some 4" but NOT big enough.

so i will have to experiment and i can hear hubby complaining about my latest lyme project!! as if he gets in the vehicle very much.

i won't have a big one for mailboxes but it will show up.

working on doing my bit and will write on each one i cut:

LYME on 50% and DISEASE on other 50% of ribbons cut !!

that way no one is guessing what it's for !! [Smile]

Way to go Betty! I found a company online. National Safety inc. Has lyme green vinyl surveyors ribbon 150' rolls for $1.68 per roll. They sell by the case too. the owner is in Seattle and has lyme disease quite badly. We helped him find a Seattle LLMD and I got my ribbon for my town common project. If we are seen we will be heard!! wouldn't hurt to send off a press release to local paper.

Trish, I put a real estate box in my front yard full of lyme brochures! I'm going to write to the local papers also. Ordered green flagging tape from ebay , so Lake Geneva WI should be covered!

i had tied 5 ribbons on our new van ... all 4 doors and back windshield wiper NOT by blade.

all 4 are wripped by winds driving!! so DON'T DO THAT! also husband informed me the whipping of winds of ribbon CAN DAMAGE CAR PAINT ... ANOTHER NO NO!!

so wanted to pass this along to others; don't do what i did there; find other methods .... bumper stickers or apply them to windows, etc.

even my ribbon attached to my outside front door is torn from the winds!! fyi only betty

I wrote several local papers yesterday and already heard back from two! They're both interested in this project and lyme disease!

Way to go everyone! We have to keep this going until we get a cure. May is just a month. Lyme is forever until we get a cure.

Here's the article from Lake Geneva Regional News:
http://www.lakegenevanews.net/Articles-i-2009-05-14-234670.112112_Whats_with_all_those_ribbons.html

It would be great if the paper got a lot of feedback!
