Has CALDA had any credibility with the powers that be over the years? Obviously, I know the guidelines have not been amended, but does this organization yield any power with any important government agencies to sway things at all?

7790 people signed this petition! We are getting there!
Lightfoot- good to see you! You too puppy! Thanks!!
Seek...
CALDA- now Lymedisease.org- is highly credible. The fact you even know what Lyme disease is, well, you can thank them for it. Why not read about them on their website?
They have done an incredible amount of work, non-stop, since the late 1980's to help sick patients, get doctors trained, work on legislation and educate the public.
I think the power they have to sway things, as you eluded to, is the truth.
They don't roll around in the mud and play kissy-face like others may do to sway people to their side, they do the honorable thing and present the facts and they don't give up.
And the best thing is... they are willing to do it.
Not many people or organizations have put in that many years working to help millions of people they don't even know.... out of the kindness of their hearts.
Have you signed the petition yet? It is something everyone, no matter how sick you are, can do!

GROUNDHOG DAY PREDICTION
If Punxsutawney Phil sees his shadow on Groundhog Day, legend says we will have six more weeks of winter. If he doesn't see it, spring is just around the corner!
BUT.... Phil, who lives in highly endemic Pennsylvania, told me if he comes out of his den for his midnight snack on Feb 2 and sees less than 10,000 signatures on the petition to bury the IDSA guidelines, he will start biting everyone who didn't sign on!
The good news is... if there are more than 10,000 signatures he will only bite the IDSA guideline authors! Sounds like a deal to me! ~smile~
Please sign the petition and get everyone you know to sign it! Getting more signatures surely beats having to hide from an angry groundhog and deal with the IDSA any longer!

GREAT Keith!
Since you are in Alabama, you might want to know...
I am hearing some rumblings from General Lee- the southern groundhog weather predictor. Waiting on an official message from him now. Will post when it arrives!

Hens you are too funny!
OK, special message from General Lee....
```````````````````````````````````````````
General Beauregard Lee, PhD., the Southern Groundhog Weather Predictor based out of Atlanta, said to tell you there will be an early spring this year in the south!
He is sorry Punxsutawney Phil in Pennsylvania wasn't able to predict the same for the rest of the country.
General Lee said he is VERY pleased to know we now have over 9,000 signatures on the petition and he wanted to thank you very much for your efforts so far.
He is concerned though that there may not be 10,000 signatures by midnight tonight- Groundhog Day.
He said he would write people directly to ask them to sign on, but as you know, he is not allowed to have a computer or phone in his den, only a TV.
He said if you could help get the 10,000 signatures on the petition by tonight (tweet, facebook, email, phone calls, whatever), he would personally send a message to the guideline authors saying "Kiss My Grits!"
We need about 300 more people (as of now) to make it to 10,000.
Uh oh. Got a problem. The petition site had a glitch and the last 4,000 who signed on will have to re-enter their information.
Not really! Just fooling!
BUT, now that the groundhogs are dancing up a storm... we need to revisit the original goal. We hoped for a certain number by Valentine's Day.... but...
You blew that goal away in the first few days and we focused on Groundhog Day goals!
And wouldn't you know, Cupid is not too happy now that we are ignoring his special "love" day. I figured that out when the bright pink arrow came zooming past my head this morning, hit the kitchen clock and the attached note slipped to the floor.
Before I get back to Stupid, I mean Cupid, do you have any ideas on how to get more signatures, or how many you think we can get?
