Educational - I have learned more about myself over the past few months than in the past 30 years!
Not to mention, more than I ever wanted to know about Lyme Disease and now I educate others.
ISL - After years of over-extending myself, and just pushing through the 'tired', now when I do too much my body REALLY lets me know it and I must STOP.

Smiles:
ISL - Internal Stop light. I like that. That works.
I, too, was a lot like you. And, I do continue to try and over ride the system.
Only, it is more serious this time and can be very dangerous to do so. I am slowly learning to try and listen to that ISL so I don't go to the kitchen that day and use a knife, or try to cook or bake, or get a needle out and try to give myself a shot when all the connections are not connecting or try to give myself an infusion.
My computer just stops on me at times and tells me all systems are dangerously low.
My body is like that at times.
My power chair will get slower and slower until it stops completely if I don't keep it recharged.
My body is like that.
The only difference is I don't have a gage on my body or a warning that flashes on the screen.
I have to work at staying tuned to my ISL
I wonder if I had listened to my ISL before becoming this bad, it I would have gotten this bad. I just kept pushing it and over riding the system.

appreciation (for those that help treat and finally diagnosis it after years of doctors; for those that post on lymenet.org offering sympathy and advice; for loved ones and family and friends who listen and try to make things better although they don't always understand)

BLESSINGS OF LYME:
1. wonderful web sites/forums like this board where we can come & express ourselves freely and see if others are having SAME problems.
2. Educating ourselves and/or by boards/others about our newest lifelong enemy.
3. We FINALLY have a name for all the many other illnesses this rotten tick gave us.
4. Having support groups online as well as at regular meeting places.
5. Having LOVING family members who take their marriage vows seriously...for better or worse, and in sickness and in health".
Tues. we celebrate 30 yrs. of marriage. My husband has NEVER known me well; I've been sick for 34 years.
I could go on, but this was to have been 1 word! I'm a newbie to this board, and couldn't help myself nor had the time to read all 7 pages of screens full. Betty G., Iowa
