I had that symptom before I started abx. Abx seems to have gotten rid of that one.

I have a lot of tooth/jaw pain and when I've had it checked out the dentist never found anything.
But I've noticed that the tooth pain is much worse when I'm stressed.
And the dentist pointed out that the jaw is a joint, so the lyme was probably affecting that like it is my hips, knees, etc.

often the tooth pain is referred pain from trigger points in the jaw or temporal muscles. massage will help them.
you can find diagrams of which muscles are involved in the classic medical textbook "Myofascial Pain and Disfunction" by Travell and Simmons, or in a simplied version of the manual, "The Trigger Point Therapy Workbook" by Davies ...more here: http://www.triggerpointbook.com/tmjdisor.htm
the problem is that if lyme, etc., is causing the muscle pain, then the massage relief is temporary...

I have not had tooth pain, but my teeth are cracking! My front tooth just split last night - NOT eating a thing! I am freaked by this! I have to go to the dds today, which I have not done in 4 years, so needless to say my mouth is a mess. I hate to think that I have to deal with this now as well. All of this stuff is GETTING TO ME!!!!

I often have tooth pain. I have used Sensadine toothpaste in the past on the recommendation of my dentist. I blame most of the pain on my sinuses. If I walk out in the cold, my teeth hurt like crazy, as well as when I eat hot soup! Other hot foods don't bother them.
The toothpaste helps with all by the sinus induced kind of pain.

It's always worse with the other facial pain which has increased with the herxing, and it's worse on the left side.
I chew very carefully and slowly and try to avoid the sore places. Ouch.
Sometimes it hurts in the strangest spots--like in the lower inscisors (the little flat teeth in front, at the same time my lip will be numb over them.
I use a toothpaste for sensitive teeth.
My LLMD said to wait until I'm further along in treatment because the nerves in my face are inflammed and any dental work will make it worse, unless it's a dental emergency of some kind.
As it comes and goes, and moves around, I'm pretty sure it's not really the teeth.
My personal favorite pain med is hydrocodone, if you can get it. (Used on occasion.)

Diamox made my teeth hurt... But my feet and hands tingled and I clled my LLMD and was taken off of it immediately... Gave such great relief, but bad reaction.

teeth pain for no apparent reason can come from several sources related to lyme. 1) trigeminal neuralgia from 7th cranial nerve, nerve goes thru ear canal can cause earaches, ringing(tinnitus) headaches, tongue numbness. this can cause a perfectly normal tooth to become hypersensitive to cold mostly, and can get to the point where treatment is necessary. initial treatment is sealant on the tooth especially at gum line.i have personally had 4 teeth the had trigeminal neuralgia that had to have root canals. 2)sinus infections can cause extreme pain(cold) in mainly the upper back teeth but sometimes can go to the front teeth. treatment abx and sudafed. 3) Tmj is a complex set of problems related to the bilateral joint of the lower jaw and its contact with the skull. there is a ligament and tendons that can be stressed and cause gringing pressure on the teeth causing pain.can also cause ear problems and temporal headaches as well. email if want more info [email protected] 4) facial nerve neuralgia 5th cranial nerve can cause bell's palsy, and numbness to side of face. this nerve is many motor, or for the muscles and does not effect the teeth too much. 5) cracked tooth syndrome, usually from accident or grinding of teeth. a small microscopic crack can occur in any normal looking tooth and cause havoc because it is extremely hard to diagnose. usually the tooth is senstive to tapping and bitting.
docdave130 most conservative treatment for cold teeth are sensodyne( takes 2 weeks to take effect). sealants placed on teeth by dds.

I have had pain in the teeth for around 8 or so years and had been to several dentists. I always described it as a feeling that the tooth just did not belong or want to be in my mouth. It was mostly between the teeth, these two same teeth on lower right...all the time.
Dentists could never find anything but filled it, then later another dentist put a crown on it...they never could see anything.
But that it felt like this one tooth just didn't feel like it belonged in my mouth...sort of how parts of my spine feels these days, like it doesn't fit inside my body anymore.
I was out from work today for this reason, pain down my right head and face and into these two teeth.
Started antibiotics nearly 7 months ago, and still grapple with this one of my many many symptoms.

Hello, there I can really feel for you I am going through the same right now. What I have found out is that is trigimeral Neuralgia 5th Nerve in contrary to others the doctor put me on tegretol to control the pain and it really helps. I know that attacks the teeths even if their is no caveries. But, for me is definitely trigimeral Neuralgia, ask your doctor about tegretol. You have to be careful because it is hard on your liver. So it has to be monitor, by frequent blood tests. I hope this helps Love Elie
