I am currently on Roxi and Bactrim. Only been two months or so on this combination, so no opinion on it's effectiveness yet.
Just stopped Mepron after nearly a year. Will be adding tetracycline in a week.
I think maybe your husband and I see the same doc (in CT?). Mino is my drug from hell. I will not take it again.

It should work, theoritically anyway, since roxi/bactrim has about the same spectrum as rocephin, and bactrim readily crosses the BBB.
I never took plaquenil but I guess the theory is that it alkalinizes the cells and helps the macrolide.

I would stay on the Biaxin combo. Why would you want to switch to Roxy? You can add Bactrim to Mino/Plaq/Biax. It's very effective. If 4 meds are too much for you, then you can drop the mino and use the other 3.

2yrs ago, my CT LLMD put me on plaq/zithro combo I was given a paper that stated it would address the babs, lyme and HLA DR4 problem.
I had a major herx from it, can't remember how long I took it, I did get some better but I also added CSM a few months later.

The reason for the switch to roxi is the possibility that it gets into the brain a bit better than azith/biaxin. I don't think there is any hard evidence (sure would like to see it if there is), but theoretically roxi should.
As Charlie stated our doc has seen success with this combo in his neuro lyme patients akin to IV. And my husband CAN NOT do IV (job stuff-long story) so if this is an effective alt. I love it!
DW--yes I'm sure it's the same CT. doc. Mino was hard on my husband----no dizziness but a herx that actually made his eyes bulge a bit ( for a very short time). Good drug if one can tolerate it.
Thanks again--I'll report back on this.

Well with the interest in this combo, I'll give an update. My husband has been on this for 5 weeks.....After 5 days he had some serious brain fog set in which lasted about 2 weeks. Week 4 he felt pretty darn good. 5 days ago he started with some back pain (lower right).
The pain has been increasing with a brief respite today for a few hours which was preceded by a loud POP in his spine. He is not a whiner and after 2 yrs of abx with mostly neuro symptoms he is in the worst pain he has been in, by far.
So, this can be a powerful combo for some people and in my husband's case he has the addition of the plaquenil which is not something that Glasser added.
Besides the pain, his vision is almost back to perfect and his other neuro stuff is gone.....We hope

I DEF getting majorly better with the bactrim roxy combo. I think I have bart too now, I might take cipro since I am pretty broke. But seems roxy is cell wall stable like ketek is...at least thats what it seems. My nat path has recently tried roxy after hearing my result...and she said its the best thing she ever tried. Seriously. I think you dont feel the pain when they die with this. I felt like I am viberating...okay, some pain, but not like with zithro...I felt horrible on that. I just started taking ambien and now my daytime fatige is going away rapidly. I feel like I am healing nerves alreday and my nat path said thats pretty good results. I am viberating and shaking...I feel like I am a newly recovering alcoholic...but I think I need to add cipro and maybe quinne just in case I have bart. I think I have that too...but after reading more...I think it might be possible that roxy could do something with that. I want to say something I just remembmerd, I had my glands in my neck swell during my 4 weeks on zithro...and instantly the first day swithing to roxy..my glands went down...and they stayed that way...I did rotate in some flagyl too, but I have a terrible herx....vomiting migraine from that. BTW, I did read somewhere that roxy actually maybe able to kills some the the cysts as well, but that data was not suffeient to prove. I think its already off patent too, so they dont care about studies...no money to make in it anyway at this point..nonetheless..if it works...hell of alot better on your body then zithro or doxy...or bixion, omg, if I took bixon I would throw up all day...roxy dont bother my stomach at all.

Why would u take something that does only barely cross the BBB and wait for a year or two...when you can take roxy and it crosses BBB instantly?????????????? Afraid of france or germany? come now its been out there since 1989. And its been shown very effective in aids victims and other brain infections as well...do searches on the net for it....aids.org It really is the only maracide that crosses BBB. Read up you will find that out. Think about it...if the other drugs get into the brain, wtf would it take some people years and years to kill off the last eggs? because it dont cross bbb. Come on, its not a magical bug...its just a bug. Please dont get mad..I am just making my intrepetation based on the data I have read on here and the net appearing to be very valid and scientific studies. Someone here told me add a minocin pulse to this and it would kill like nothing else. I noticed it said in wikopedia that roxy is very rapidly absorbed...and that could be another key since we know if you body slam these your better off...hence the reason for IV. Quickly in the blood in strong doses. but at only 600mg a day..easy on the stomach.

I think everyone will be pleased to hear of your improvement.
However, this drug combo might not work for everyone....for whatever reason ie. strain variability, co-infection combos. So we have to be a bit careful when making broad statements or chastizing others for not being on a certain drug. It might be better just to report your success, answer any questions and leave it at that.
Glad to hear you are doing well. My husband is doing really well on the roxy/bactrim/plaq combo too!

yeah very true...besides I could end up a treatment failure as well. I just got sick of people saying how much it dont work...when I started asking questions as to why, do you know it didnt work, etc..they couldnt say. I think this combo even if not effective...if it does even a little as what dr gasser reports..slower growth...paralized bugs...taking perhaps a lowered dose then adding a wicked drug like minocin high dose or zithromax high dose along with it...could do wonders. The BBB thing is what really impresses me...50x blood levels in brain tissue. Talk about a brain drug..if true, this is a good one.

I bought mine at offshore-pharma.cm Roxygen., I believe this treatment kills only lyme but very well. cos need sep treat and erithero are known to block floroquinenes.
