I'm talking about the bulk powders from rain-tree.com. We all know quinine works against babs, and amargo is suppose to be good too. I wondered if anyone took them if they had any luck and what doses they used.

I am not sure the dosage, but I would try extract of the Quinine. There is Quina from Nutramedix.com. It is a little pricy compared with the raw herb. But it has been researched and dosage is provided.
When taking herbs, taking one at time, if you are extremly thirsty or dry mouth after taking. It is better to stop it.

I read that 600mg of quinine is equal to 1 gram of the natural quinine bark.
IF you use a search engine hard enough..you will find this page.
I HAVE used both products from rain-tree..and there as good as the real thing.
The nutra product is WAY way overpriced.

Why not just get a prescription? I would think that would be a lot safer, and you would have a lot clearer idea of the dosage/purity etc than trying to buy it the way you are describing.

I'm not aware of a prescription form of any of the chemicals in amargo. As for the quinine powder it's actually the bark of the tree they isolated the chemical quinine from. The bark includes several antimalarial chemicals in it so it would reduce resistance and it's supposedly more effective. Quinine was just the first chemical they could synthesize so they could patent it and make a fortune.
Most of the world (excluding the U.S.) have access to quinimax which is a blend of four of the chemicals from the bark. Since we can't get it in the U.S. the powder seems like a good way to go.

I made a tincture out of the powder from the bark of the tree. Not sure how much to take. I used 100 proof vodka and poured it in a jar to about 3 inches over the top of the powder. I shook it every day and now it should be ready. I'm not sure of the dosage cause I used the folk way of making a tincture instead of exact proportions. Hmmmm

With some tinctures, you start with just ONE drop in a little water.
As quinine can have dangerous effects if the dose is too much, it seems by starting off with one drop, one time, for a few days in a row will give you a clue. If your ears ring, that is one sign to decrease dosage.
