GWB and I are in Florida. It's a beautiful day here and the sun is shining. Just saw the temperatures for the week...high of 78, 78, 78, 78, 78, 78, 78
Yikes, not sure I brought enough warm-weather clothes. Thankfully I have access to a washer and dryer.
I'd like to share one of my last posts from the God Thought thread last week (that I recently posted).
Remember that old song, "Let the sun shine in" I think it was from Aquarius...that ages me... Ha!
Well, a different take on that song...Let the Son shine in and then shine out!
Have a Son shinny kind of a day!
My granddaughters just woke. Going to be busy for a while!!!!

Today and tomorrow will be a little nerve wracking....I just keep praying.
I could use some prayers for Saturday. I'm going to my parent's house. My sister and daughter will also be there. I am praying for a friendly and peaceful day. Lots of family problems in the last year+.

I pray you have the most glorious week visiting your dear family. So fun...lots of playing with your granddaughters!

I want to Thank God for a lot of answered Prayers I have had the past two week. Granddaughter came through surg. so far so good. My little greatgran out of the hospital and back in school.. My family is well, and they are there for me. They are suffering financially due to loss of jobs but they are well.. What more could one ask for.
I am asking once again for prayers for me on Tues. as I take my first step in traveling to see a lyme doctor. God is good and there is a reason.

I am tearful and so thankful.
I got a text message from my son this morning that he is safely on the ground in the USA!!!
He will call later when able.
Thank you all for your love, kindness, prayers and support!
I am also proud to be the Mom of an American Soldier who volunteered to serve.
It was a nerve wracking year, but he wanted to go.
I am headed to church this morning to give thanks to God.

Thanks for thinking of me. Will be leaving within the hour for my parents house. Be back this evening.
I talked to my son and it was so wonderful to hear his voice and know he is safe on American soil now.
He said they arrived on base at 2 am Fri and were greeted by the USO and a Veteran's group who congratulated them, followed by a ceremony and speech and a huge hot meal...at 2 am!
He said it was awesome!
He said that there are people there any time of the day or night to provide this service for servicemembers returning from the wars...and that they will continue to do this until every servicemember comes home from the wars.....wow!!
I am humbled by that.
I will be traveling to see my son and the welcome home ceremony for family, being held on this base on Tuesday evening. I will be staying overnight.
If the soldiers are done outprocessing and debriefing, they will be released to go home with their families later on Wed!
I am praying that my son will find a new job that meets his needs...he'll still be in the Reserves, but that will be part-time now that they are back from active duty.
Those are beautiful words you posted, daisy, from Psalm 27:4!
I am keeping up with my daily Bible readings and enjoying it. It is quite interesting.
I am happy (and not surprised!) that you are having so much fun in FL! Enjoy every second with your family, especially those precious little ones.

Hello everyone. Hope you all are having a good day.
I am somewhat new to this forum; everyone seems so compassionate and caring.
Can someone clerify something for me? I am a man of faith, believe in God, and pray several times a day.
I read something via the internet (not this sight) where this woman said that God punishes people who have not been so good in life.
I am ashamed to say that I am not real versed on the Bible; but I really don't want to believe that.
I know that I am not perfect, I have committed many sins throughout my life, and have asked for forgiveness as well.
I would consider myself a pretty good person though, a thoughtful and caring person who has helped my family and even strangers.
I really hope that God forgave me of my sins and hope that he hears my prayers for strength and recovery from this horrible disease.
You are all in my prayers.

Sorry that you have "this horrible disease" but thankful you found Lymenet. And especially thankful you found God Thought!!! Great post and great questions.
Each week (or within a few days of a new week) a new God Thought thread is started. I encourage you to read some of the past ones. I do that from time to time and am very encouraged. At the bottom of this post I've cut and pasted a few links to some of the more recent God Thought threads.
God says in His Word that through His Son, Jesus, there is forgiveness of our sins...all our sins. God does not lie. We can rest in His truth.
John 3:16, "For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only son that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have everlasting life."

Thank you for continuing to pray for me Dekrator, that means more to me than you could ever know.
My new antibiotic is actually helping and I'm so excited! My joint pain and stiffness had gotten unbearable over the past couple months. Now it is finally getting better:) These are the first improvements I've had in a longgggggg time.
The only problem is that my PICC line is unreliable and one lumen has clogged again. In the past when one has clogged and I didn't get it cleared fast enough the other one followed soon after. Unfortunately I haven't been able to clear the line with Cathflo despite multiple attempts over the past couple days.
My LLMD is in another state and my local hospital won't accept his orders so I have to get my PCP to order a new PICC. I always have a difficult time getting an appt or return phone call from my PCP. Usually expect to wait at least a week for either.
I don't mind waiting normally, I just don't want to lose my IV access because of this. I don't want to risk losing the gains that I've made over the past week. In my experience improvements are hard fought, relapses come quickly.
I'm trying not to worry about it all and am praying that God will take care of everything. He knows best what I need.

Sammy, Psalm 103 so beautiful...so hopeful. Thanks for sharing that. I am so sorry about the PICC line. I am praying that gets taken care of right away. May God give you peace in this situation and may you be encouraged that more improvement is on the way.
Dekrator, So excited about your son! Tomorrow is the big day. Oh, WOW, God is indeed awesome! I can just imagine the reunion in my mind. Let Andrew know that we are all so very proud of him and thankful for serving our country and that we're thrilled he has arrived home safely.

Good news all, I got the order to have this PICC line pulled and replaced. Now I have to wait for Central Scheduling at the hospital to process the order and then set up the appointment.
Please pray for the nurses that will be placing it. That God will bless them and guide their hands as they place the line so that it will be positioned perfectly on the first try. That my body will accept this PICC line. That there will be no complications. That it will work well for as long as I need it.
Thank you all for your prayers. I do need them. I'm trying not to be nervous.
Daisy, will you soak up some extra sun for me today? It's cold, dark, dreary and rainy here today.
MDW, I hope that you are relaxing and having fun on your vacation. Praying that you come back feeling better
Dekrator, I'll be praying for safe travels for you. It can be scary and stressful having to drive in bad weather. It would be nice if you could leave early and avoid the worst. How far do you have to drive?

Phyl, I remember what it was like traveling to see my LLMD for the first time. I was a ball of emotions (don't know how my mom tolerated me for the 14hr drive up there). I was hopeful that the doctor might understand what was going on with me but afraid that he'd be like all the others and say that I was too sick to be helped. Going home I felt so relieved to have finally found a doctor who was willing to search for answers and try whatever it took to get me feeling better.

I am leaving now, one day early, to go to the Army base to see my son, since it is supposed to snow tonight.
It is about a 5 hr trip by car if traffic isn't bad. Want to travel in daylight.

Thank you everyone for your prayers.
My PICC line was pulled because I have had a continuous problem with blood refluxing up into the lines which lead to 8 complete occlusions over 5mo. I consulted with the PICC nurses, my experienced friend nurses, the manufacturer of the PICC line, and various manufacturers of injection caps to try to find a way to solve the problem. Apparently this was not a common situation.
The PICC line nurses that I had today were excellent. I was so relieved to have them. They talked with me for about an hour before deciding what kind of PICC line would be most appropriate for me. They ended up recommending the Bard PowerPICC Solo. It was a product that they had good experience with but the hospital did not currently have in stock.
They called up their local Bard rep who ended up driving to a different hospital over an hour away to get this catheter for me. Once we got the PICC everything went well with the insertion.
It was a long day but overall a good day. I'm glad to be home with my new (hopefully reliable) PICC line.

Good Morning,
We have been having a great day with our family. Late afternoon we went to Clearwater Beach. Watched our granddaughters play in the sand and gulf with Grandpa. Got some nice pictures. We are having so much fun. We leave early in the morning for Oklahoma and home.
Our daughter-in-love is pregnant, due June 30, so we'll be back soon!
Sammy says, "It was a long day but overall a good day. I'm glad to be home with my new (hopefully reliable) PICC line."
Those nurses sound like "angels". So thankful they took their time with you, did their homework, and praying this is the long term solution for you. You have a very good day experiencing the peace of God and His healing touch!
Dekrator, WOW, won't be long now. So excited for you and look forward to hearing about the awesome reunion!

Good morning friends!!!
It was a good decision to leave earlier than planned for the Army base on Monday. By the time I got to my destination, there was 3 inches of snow back home. We got 10 inches that night.
My son was surprised and I was so happy to see him and attend the Welcome ceremony there on Tues and take lots of pictures.
Then he had to return to the barracks and finish debriefing on Wed. The soldiers came home on buses, so I arrived home before they did.
Last night they arrived around 9:15pm with police and fire escorts and sirens blaring!
I felt so proud of my son and all of the soldiers.
There was lots of hugging, kissing and family reunions all over that big parking lot! Of course, I took more pictures.
2 tv stations were there and the local newspaper, along with the mayor, a local VFW ladies group who had adopted this Unit for the year, and hundreds of the soldier's family and friends.
I am thanking God for bringing all of this Unit's soldiers home safely.
Now I can take down the yellow ribbons outside which are faded, tattered and torn.
Thank you friends, for all the prayers and support along the way!
Now my son and the others must ease back into regular daily life, which can be a shock to military members who have been deployed for a long time.
He plans to take a few weeks off and then return to his regular job. Hopefully an even better opportunity that meets his needs will come his way.
I am still praying for all the other military members across the world.

GWB and me made it home safely. So many great memories were made with our family. We are truly so blessed and I thank and praise God!
Dekrator, It was great reading about the reunion with your son. I am soooo rejoicing that Andrew and all his Unit arrived home safely.
Lord God, You are so worthy to be praised. We thank You for answering prayers. Thank You for your faithfulness! All honor, glory, and praise to You now and forever more! And may our Almighty God help Andrew and the others to fit back into life in these United States.

Dear friends, I have a few thoughts that have been running through my mind, and I will try not to run astray in my thoughts as I write.
Last week I had asked the question to a dear friend, who is the shepherd and who are the sheep?
I have fond memories of my grandfather, he was a hard working man; worked two jobs, one he was a mail carrier and second he was a farmer.
I loved this farm of his. I recall many a day sitting under a tree in the field and watching his sheep graze in the pastures, or just hanging over the fence mesmerized. One day I came to visit and gradfathers sheep were gone and replaced with cattle. Sadness came to visit and I questioned my dear gramps... "Where are the sheep?" His reply was(interp. as an adult) "they were dumb creatures that I had no valuable time to spend with."
I did some library research on sheep. I could not believe what I read. There are approx. 15 facts on sheep and it is astounding. I will write a few for examples.
The life of sheep depends a lot on what kind of shepherd it has....mean, or lazy. But if the shepherd was gentle and brave and did not think of himself first, then the sheep would grow to be strong, content and healthy.
fact 1...More than any other kind of animal, sheep need attention and care. The shepherd must protect the sheep from dogs and wolves. The shepherd must protect at all times day and night.
fact 2...Sheep are timid and fearful animals. They get scared very easily, and fear keeps them from doing many things that are good for them.
fact 3...Sheep are animals of habit. They like to keep following the same path over and over again. They will keep grazing on the same land until they have ruined the land, and they will eat bad grass.
fact 4...Sheep are known to be very stubborn. They need the shepherd to guide them around.
fact 5... sheep are dumb animals. They will sometimes freeze if there is danger around. Sometimes they will not even run to safty. they will panic and not even cry out.
There are many more facts but I will stop here.
In the sheepfold the shepherd lies down in the doorway to guard the sheep. If predators try to get in and hurt the sheep, they have to cross over the shepherd, because he's the door.
I have had some rough days here and there and I have found myself trying to be a shepherd to myself and not letting God do his job. Hope seems at times a thin thread holding my life together. Then I realize that discouragement is a sign for me to let go if a new way is to open. Left alone to my own resources....I do not have any idea what to do. Discouragement lifts when I join with you.... acting together and held by God.
ps.... I really like this song with the sheep in the video...it was difficult to choose Him awhile back and I still fight Him and not mean to, but I can't live without Him now.

Dekrator.... I had a wonderful time with grandchildren. My Rylin is three and such a joy and so smart. I love her dearly. We played the whole time and I only visited with my daughter after Ry went down for a nap or to bed.
When I had to leave, she made me sad when she said, "but young meme I be sad when you leave" and tears rolled down her cheek. (she also has an old meme 90) My daughter called me and said that Ry wanted to know why I took my pillow (security squishy pillow I can't live without, had for many a year.) it smelled like her meme and that she was willing to give up her glow worm for my pillow. I will have to break in a few new down pillows because all my grandchildren want my pillow.
My Rose...well she spent more time with her brothers and that was ok with me....I was very tired after all the play with Rylin and all the driving I had done. It takes three and half hours to Rylins but took 5 1/2 because of traffic. Miss them but happy to be home.

Hey gang!! I've been so ABSENT from this thread!! Sometimes I stop in to read but seems I've been really busy the past month.
Sure was good to read all the good news on here!! SO happy Sammy got a new PICC and daisy got to spend time with the grandkids in FL...
and then Dekrator got her son back!! That is so awesome!!
and MDW... what a great time you had as well with those grandkids! Loved the info on the sheep!
BTW... Be sure to read Heaven is for Real by Todd Burpo (see Dekrator's link above about Colton) It is a really good book and only takes a few hours to read. I just loved it!
