We have lived in our present location for about 15 years. Nothing here has really clicked for us. My husband has a pretty good job and we like our home, but we just do not click with the people at all. Sometimes I really wonder because it wasn't this way other places we have lived and worked.
Lyme has taken me out of circulation, but that's not the only thing. We just don't fit in. I want out of here so bad. I would love to go back to my hometown as I have kept up with everyone through facebook, but don't see that happening. I feel trapped, guess I am.

I'm stuck in the wrong place myself! I feel very comfortable in Missouri.. but would love to go back to my home country of TEXAS.
We would go back in a heartbeat if we had the money and knew exactly where to live.
Do you have a connection to a church or other community involvement??

fort worth is now my home. going back to ohio just seems strange and unreal. since mom is dead i really don't have a connection there anymore.
it seems cold and grey and well, unreal. don't like it.
we've talked about me going home if anything happens to him but i don't know. i can't take the snow, cold, and frankly, our families. might just stay here.
at least my doctors, hospitals, and a couple of people i know are here.
lyme can certainly make you into a hermit that's fer sure.

We belong to a church and attend regularly, but just don't fit, like I said above. I was active in my kids activities, but they are almost grown now. There's not much movement in and out of this area, so people have known each other forever. It creates a mentality that a person has to have been here a long time or they aren't welcome.
My mom passed away a few years ago and it still feels like my life line is gone.
Sorry if I sound like a whiner.

hey, i lost my mom 4 years ago and i still grieve every single day.
it's not whining, it's normal. especially if female. we're very attached to our mothers. well at least i was.
too bad we can't all move and make our own city.

It's so hard to lose our mom. She was my salvation for so long. I would give anything to be able to get into the car and go visit her.

homesick.. Hardly anyone where I live is a native. We all come from somewhere else.. makes it pretty easy to fit in here.

I like the idea of having our own town. I guess lyme net comes pretty close to a community where I feel I fit in. I know what it is like to feel you never actually belong.
Being sick and not being able to get out and do things makes it more difficult. I am close to well right now and doing more things trying to find people I feel are more in tune with who I am.
When your kids are young and you are running them all over the place, you put yourself on hold and can lose sight of dreams and goals. It is really hard when they leave home because your purpose is gone. Your mothers were really lucky that you loved them so much and needed them.

Our own little (or big) town where everyone understood, and a medical community that actually recognized this awful disease.
I wish we didn't have quite so many natives here, btu thats just the nature of this beast. And being able to get out without it being such an effort makes a huge difference.
Why do people reject us because we're sick? I don't get it.
