"we did detect the presence of B. burgdorferi s.s. DNA in 6.3% (11 of 174) of ticks and 22.7% (five of 22) of animal samples. To our knowledge, this is among the first evidence documenting B. burgdorferi s.s. in Louisiana."

They're kinda slow, aren't they? They've had an LLMD there for at least 10 years.

Hmmm...maybe they shoulda tried DNA samples from people... Like years ago...

How frustrating to the people of Louisiana to finally get acknoldgement that lyme is there, but only in animal vectors.

Grrr...

Closed minds. The major medical institutions don't think it exists in MA either (idiots).

Well isn't that special! I was diagnosed 5 years ago and was told repeatedly "Oh no, you can't have Lyme because there is no Lyme Disease in Louisiana so we can't possibly grant your private disability claim or approve SSI for you" Thank the good Lord there was an LLMD in my own backyard who knew better and I was at least able to get treatment!!!!

Hi Redhead1108, I sent you a private message. I think I know who your LLMD is, and I had some questions. Would love your advice on how to get tested and treated in Louisiana with all of these doctors saying there isn't Lyme in the South. Thx.
