OK, my curiosity is taking over....would you please tell us how you chose your screen name? Some are obvious [like Lymetoo...duh!] others are just downright interesting...so if you'd like to share, tell us about your name!

My name is Rosemary, I lived several years on an island and got my 4th pc in 2000 and decided to change my email name. Also, I feel that most of the time I am on my own island. Have recently moved to Arkansas from USVI and Florida. Sail on...

My last name is pretty long and confusing to most people. Although it's not really that hard to pronounce, it does kind of look like the alphabet when it's written out-------Athanasselis-----------so I became alphabet nancy or ABC Nancy (my nickname)

Hi,I was named MADDOG by a person who was lator killed in an avalanch mnt. climbing.I got the climbing name because I love to pick on the other climbers dogs. One special medium sized poodle was my favorite target.I would roll it onto its back and rub its belly,it would growl like it was going to kill me but never bit me.You could hear the growling a hundred feet away.I actually love dogs, they are good friends. I'm pretty boring on mine. I tried to get my email address as toangie which was obviously taken so I just made it twoangie. I figured that it would also be easier to remember if anyone needed to email me since it is the same line of thought. In addition, there is the plus side of being a Gemini which means I can have mood swings without guilt! So, you never know whether I'm grumpy Angie or happy Angie. It's one of the two!
Grrrrr...hahahhahaha!!!

shaz = childhood nickname, mostly to tease my mother who named us all "un-nicknameable" names, because she hated nicks!

dancer = what I do, although I don't perform much anymore, mostly just teach dance and gymnastics. Last summer was a blur of trying to get enough rest so that I could earn a living while I battled Lyme...

...SOOO grateful to be in remission!

everything for humans is ultimately tested on them and that's called stage 4 in animal research.
It's the only truly reliable testing for human response to treatment. Non-humans are way too physically different.

I can't be left to get sicker before somebody decides to take alot of healthy beagles and TRY to make them as sick as we are (even though the tissue density and anatomy etc. different---beagles are more "convenient" to work with than we are)just to prove (AGAIN) that long term antibiotic increases the likelihood of a better prognosis with this infection.

PLUS, there was only 1 reported case of Lyme in Nevada...it's nice to be in the woods & feel safe again!

It's Funny (& Sad) how most of our names are Lyme-related! (MADDOG, I love your story! I miss everyone from the old board; we all seem to have gone our separate ways.)

Well, mine has nothing to do with lyme. Only my initials but it is a nickname I was given when I was working in a factory back in 1984, after I got married. I was the only female on 2nd shift and that's just what the guys always called me...CJ....and it has stuck ever since. And when I first signed on to lymenet there was already another Carolyn so I became CJ again.

Wow. Everyone's got such great stories.
mine is simple. I adopted a poodle last summer named "Baron" which did not fit him at all. He's lightning fast & non-stop so I re-named him Zippy - thus zippysmom. At the time I thought it was important to be known as female on this board, but now I think what's the difference? (Be kind to those poodles, Maddog !!)

Wild is for all the things I loved before Lyme, and still love today

WILDerness, WILDflowers, WILDlife, WILD men!
Everything and anything wild, I love!

Condor for this adorable Andean Condor I have befriended at the local WILDlife rehabilitation center. The Andean Condor is the largest bird of prey in the world. Condors fly high up in the air currents over the mountains, soaring, hunting, living, seeing, they are beautiful creatures, and I have a feather from him on my altar of things from nature I collect, and yes , its also my email & website address. ::

Ok you two! I guess you don't think I can see all those Mel Gibson comments..

K-N-O-C-K- I-T O-F-F!

Everyone knows Mel ONLY sees ME on Friday nights... He wouldn't have it any other way!

Tincup is the name.. not tinfoil, saran wrap, or any of those names I have been given by some of the weirdo's here..

My beautiful name, Tincup, comes from a song by my main man... Mr. Jimmy Buffett.

He sings a song and it goes..

"With a tincup for a challice
Fill it up with red wine..
And I'm chewing
On a honey suckle vine."

I lost my home to Lyme.. so I stay in a camper. It is no more than a bunch of recycled beer cans stuck together.. and older than me!

So.. I say I am a Princess and I live in a tincup for a palace. It makes me feel so special...

The Tincup Palace.

Hi everyone!

I decided I would add my two cents too! I picked my name for a couple of reasons... my daughters middle name is Faith... and of course we here all know that we have to keep hold of our faith through these trying times.... and hope... well that would have been (if my second child was a girl) her middle name... and we also all here need to hang on to the HOPE that we will get better... there is always hope!!!!!!! But the greatest of these is love! Do you know that bible verse, faith, hope and love!!!!!!!

Hi Everyone

Thanks Lymetoo!

OK here goes, When I first started dating Roy (Mel Jr., as Tincup likes to call him), my kids were 4 and 5 (and 5), they were not allowed to answer the door unless they new who was there. Roy worked for State Parks had a Smokey Bear belt buckle and they would look through the mail slot in the door and thats all they could see, they would yell, "the Rangers here".

I know Smokey is not California's State Park Mascot, but we adopted him anyway. Our whole family is very fond of him.

Cindy ><>

Oh, if you are interested, the little fish I put behind my name, indicates I'm a Christian!

I collect Koala bears. No, not live ones, don't anyone call PETA.
Tincup---all this time I thought you were a golfer!

Bet you can't guess why I'm called this. When mom (Smokey) was in the hospital last Sept. people were asking about her. So, I decided in order to try and keep you all updated I would create my own screen name. Smokey's cub was just appropriate. April

Being from the Jersey shore and a huge Bruce Springsteen fan , I wanted to be JerseyGirl, but I'm trying to keep my name the same for several of the boards that I post to. And to make a short story even longer, JerseyGirl was already taken , so I added my first initial.

I'm in law enforcement and many years (and many pounds) ago I had to have a nickname for radio communications to go with my assigned radio number (855). A co-worker told me "you have stormy weather legs...the kind you want to see clear up"! Well using the association of legs to wheels, somehow the nickname evolved. I was also told it was an appropriate nickname because I used to drive really fast. By the way I married the co-worker!

I'm Dave.
I'm happy that I ran into you folks to help me challenge this sucky disease (without whom I'd still be duck-fodder, and probably in some hospital, with all my posessions pawned...). And I'm carless, since neither my conscience nor my coffers will permit me to have or use cars....
So, put it all together and leave out a few letters here and there, and you get, "HaplyCarLessDave, or "HappyCarFreeDave", I think it is, if I'm visiting my brother and have something to say...

I was married for 25 years. When we seperated, I got jobs potting up plants and being a chef - for 8$ an hour. I later applied to an Inn and learned how to make beds and shine bathrooms. That paid better, and I went out on my own after a bit, shining
bathrooms and taking care of peoples houses. Since I am a Buddhist, it seemed dharma had a hand in this, thus, dharmacleaning.

Hi You Guys! I've been off a while 'cause I moved cross country (west to east).

I chose mine 'cause my nickname, when I was a kid, was Sass, or variations on that name (e.g., Sassy, Sass-ay, Sassafrass, and, as my big brother so gently would put it, "Sassafrasswiththebigfat. . . ." -- even though I was skinny! You know how big brothers are).

On the outside I was a little angel, made good grades, etc., etc. but those who knew me best gave me this nickname. I was a bit of a smarty pants, kind of sassy, hence the name.

My last name begins with "O" so I just picked SassO 'cause the old nickname still makes me chuckle.

It's been fun reading about everyone's name!

Too out of it at the time to realize this was supposed to be a pen name, not real name. The crowd I work with would say "couldn't pour piss out of a boot if the instructions were written on the heel!"

I really wish I could fly like a Condor.
If I could fly, I could go to a beautiful Caribean beach right now and skinny dip under the full moon. If I cant be a condor atleast I can be Wild, and run and jump into the snow naked.

Well - I really loved this question by LymeToo because everyone has such great names on here.
Mine is the simple unthoughtly type - my name - Cyn - short for Cyndie (not Cynthia) but everyone just calls me Cyn.
Im not very good at coming up with names and the only nickname I ever had was Swintz - uh..dont ask.

Tincup - Although It has been made perfectly CLEAR that you have Friday night dibs on Mel .... I wont tell you that in my hometown circle of friends I have had dibs on Mel for years... but ok ok.. I am not the competative type you can have him.. so I will share a bit of info with a fellow mel fan.... He is looking for a house cleaner. Do you clean??? I was thinking about going to knock on his door and apply - except I hate cleaning!!! PS (I know right where he lives.. want to dress up as maids and go trick or ... treating????)HA HA

Ha - this was a great distraction from the work I'm not doing!!!

I picked my name because when I was in college and rodeoing - I always had my CB radio on. One day some truckers were talking about the "girl in the pickup w/ the pony tail" because I was pulling my horses in the horse trailer and I also was wearing my hair in a ponytail!!!

I started using it for my CB "handle" and it's stuck w/ me thru the years.

Plus it's much better than the nickname my best friend gave me in high school -
"scary sherry"!!!

I hope to see more of these!!!

I chose Autumn Sunset because it is the name of my favorite climbing rose. I am a gardener and spend most of my "down time" reading through gardening catalogs and that particular flower always brings me joy on my worst of days. It is a beautiful yellow, and the buds are peach before opening, and I wanted something to bring a little sunshine to my days here reading all these posts about this terrible disease we all share.

My name,
It happened so fast, I didn't realize I was going to be Nancys, I would've really have liked to chosen Buffie becaue I weight lift.
Or, perhaps "Painted Rabbit" that's because WildCondor helped me get intouch with the spiritial side of me, my artitistic side.

I enjoyed reading all the names.

Mine is not overly exciting, like some others, just initials. The unique part about mine is it always reminds me of my mother. I come from a family of 9 kids. My mother named us all starting with the letter J. When she was mad at one of us, she could never get the name out (I guess it was a sorting thing in the mind that took time to process which one she was yelling at), so she would yell with just the first letters Ja Ja.......we all fit the "mold" with our name and we always knew which one she was yelling at!!!

I chose perplexed because this disease is so puzzling and can be mind boggling. It changes day to day and has everyone baffled..
the medical community, the patients, the CDC, the labs and just everyone. It's a very perplexing disease.....therefore I am perplexed.
