My last name is pretty long and confusing to most people. Although it's not really that hard to pronounce, it does kind of look like the alphabet when it's written out-------Athanasselis-----------so I became alphabet nancy or ABC Nancy (my nickname)

everything for humans is ultimately tested on them and that's called stage 4 in animal research. It's the only truly reliable testing for human response to treatment. Non-humans are way too physically different.
I can't be left to get sicker before somebody decides to take alot of healthy beagles and TRY to make them as sick as we are (even though the tissue density and anatomy etc. different---beagles are more "convenient" to work with than we are)just to prove (AGAIN) that long term antibiotic increases the likelihood of a better prognosis with this infection.

Well, mine has nothing to do with lyme. Only my initials but it is a nickname I was given when I was working in a factory back in 1984, after I got married. I was the only female on 2nd shift and that's just what the guys always called me...CJ....and it has stuck ever since. And when I first signed on to lymenet there was already another Carolyn so I became CJ again.

I decided I would add my two cents too! I picked my name for a couple of reasons... my daughters middle name is Faith... and of course we here all know that we have to keep hold of our faith through these trying times.... and hope... well that would have been (if my second child was a girl) her middle name... and we also all here need to hang on to the HOPE that we will get better... there is always hope!!!!!!! But the greatest of these is love! Do you know that bible verse, faith, hope and love!!!!!!!

OK here goes, When I first started dating Roy (Mel Jr., as Tincup likes to call him), my kids were 4 and 5 (and 5), they were not allowed to answer the door unless they new who was there. Roy worked for State Parks had a Smokey Bear belt buckle and they would look through the mail slot in the door and thats all they could see, they would yell, "the Rangers here".
I know Smokey is not California's State Park Mascot, but we adopted him anyway. Our whole family is very fond of him.

I'm in law enforcement and many years (and many pounds) ago I had to have a nickname for radio communications to go with my assigned radio number (855). A co-worker told me "you have stormy weather legs...the kind you want to see clear up"! Well using the association of legs to wheels, somehow the nickname evolved. I was also told it was an appropriate nickname because I used to drive really fast. By the way I married the co-worker!

So, put it all together and leave out a few letters here and there, and you get, "HaplyCarLessDave, or "HappyCarFreeDave", I think it is, if I'm visiting my brother and have something to say... DaveS

I was married for 25 years. When we seperated, I got jobs potting up plants and being a chef - for 8$ an hour. I later applied to an Inn and learned how to make beds and shine bathrooms. That paid better, and I went out on my own after a bit, shining bathrooms and taking care of peoples houses. Since I am a Buddhist, it seemed dharma had a hand in this, thus, dharmacleaning.

Hi You Guys! I've been off a while 'cause I moved cross country (west to east).
I chose mine 'cause my nickname, when I was a kid, was Sass, or variations on that name (e.g., Sassy, Sass-ay, Sassafrass, and, as my big brother so gently would put it, "Sassafrasswiththebigfat. . . ." -- even though I was skinny! You know how big brothers are).
On the outside I was a little angel, made good grades, etc., etc. but those who knew me best gave me this nickname. I was a bit of a smarty pants, kind of sassy, hence the name.
My last name begins with "O" so I just picked SassO 'cause the old nickname still makes me chuckle.
It's been fun reading about everyone's name!

Well - I really loved this question by LymeToo because everyone has such great names on here. Mine is the simple unthoughtly type - my name - Cyn - short for Cyndie (not Cynthia) but everyone just calls me Cyn. Im not very good at coming up with names and the only nickname I ever had was Swintz - uh..dont ask.
Tincup - Although It has been made perfectly CLEAR that you have Friday night dibs on Mel .... I wont tell you that in my hometown circle of friends I have had dibs on Mel for years... but ok ok.. I am not the competative type you can have him.. so I will share a bit of info with a fellow mel fan.... He is looking for a house cleaner. Do you clean??? I was thinking about going to knock on his door and apply - except I hate cleaning!!! PS (I know right where he lives.. want to dress up as maids and go trick or ... treating????)HA HA

Ha - this was a great distraction from the work I'm not doing!!!
I picked my name because when I was in college and rodeoing - I always had my CB radio on. One day some truckers were talking about the "girl in the pickup w/ the pony tail" because I was pulling my horses in the horse trailer and I also was wearing my hair in a ponytail!!!
I started using it for my CB "handle" and it's stuck w/ me thru the years.
Plus it's much better than the nickname my best friend gave me in high school - "scary sherry"!!!
I hope to see more of these!!!

Mine is not overly exciting, like some others, just initials. The unique part about mine is it always reminds me of my mother. I come from a family of 9 kids. My mother named us all starting with the letter J. When she was mad at one of us, she could never get the name out (I guess it was a sorting thing in the mind that took time to process which one she was yelling at), so she would yell with just the first letters Ja Ja.......we all fit the "mold" with our name and we always knew which one she was yelling at!!!
