OK, my curiosity is taking over....would you please tell us how you chose your screen name? Some are obvious [like Lymetoo...duh!] others are just downright interesting...so if you'd like to share, tell us about your name!

My last name is pretty long and confusing to most people. Although it's not really that hard to pronounce, it does kind of look like the alphabet when it's written out-------Athanasselis-----------so I became alphabet nancy or ABC Nancy (my nickname) Posts: 248 | From Minneapolis, Minnesota | Registered: Apr 2001

Hi,I was named MADDOG by a person who was lator killed in an avalanch mnt. climbing.I got the climbing name because I love to pick on the other climbers dogs. One special medium sized poodle was my favorite target.I would roll it onto its back and rub its belly,it would growl like it was going to kill me but never bit me.You could hear the growling a hundred feet away.I actually love dogs, they are good friends. Mine's not very interesting. My initials are arg and I was born in 1982. It's also the same as my e-mail address, so it makes it easier to remember. --Annie

Mine is an affectionate nickname my mother used to call me. She passed away in 1991, and using it now makes me think of her and her comforting ways (which I could use right now!).

"Keeters" is slang for the spirochettes(sp?), & it's also southern slang for Akita dogs. I correspond with a number of people from the southern United States, who also own Akitas & they use this term when they are joking around. "My 'Keeter's shor-nuff actin' the Goober."

I'm pretty boring on mine. I tried to get my email address as toangie which was obviously taken so I just made it twoangie. I figured that it would also be easier to remember if anyone needed to email me since it is the same line of thought. In addition, there is the plus side of being a Gemini which means I can have mood swings without guilt! So, you never know whether I'm grumpy Angie or happy Angie. It's one of the two! Grrrrr...hahahhahaha!!! Angie

shaz = childhood nickname, mostly to tease my mother who named us all "un-nicknameable" names, because she hated nicks!
dancer = what I do, although I don't perform much anymore, mostly just teach dance and gymnastics. Last summer was a blur of trying to get enough rest so that I could earn a living while I battled Lyme...
...SOOO grateful to be in remission! shaz

everything for humans is ultimately tested on them and that's called stage 4 in animal research. It's the only truly reliable testing for human response to treatment. Non-humans are way too physically different.
I can't be left to get sicker before somebody decides to take alot of healthy beagles and TRY to make them as sick as we are (even though the tissue density and anatomy etc. different---beagles are more "convenient" to work with than we are)just to prove (AGAIN) that long term antibiotic increases the likelihood of a better prognosis with this infection.

It's Funny (& Sad) how most of our names are Lyme-related! (MADDOG, I love your story! I miss everyone from the old board; we all seem to have gone our separate ways.) ~Stac

Well, mine has nothing to do with lyme. Only my initials but it is a nickname I was given when I was working in a factory back in 1984, after I got married. I was the only female on 2nd shift and that's just what the guys always called me...CJ....and it has stuck ever since. And when I first signed on to lymenet there was already another Carolyn so I became CJ again.

Congrats on your remission, Shaz!!! Way to go! Wow. Everyone's got such great stories. mine is simple. I adopted a poodle last summer named "Baron" which did not fit him at all. He's lightning fast & non-stop so I re-named him Zippy - thus zippysmom. At the time I thought it was important to be known as female on this board, but now I think what's the difference? (Be kind to those poodles, Maddog !!)

Condors fly high up in the air currents over the mountains, soaring, hunting, living, seeing, they are beautiful creatures, and I have a feather from him on my altar of things from nature I collect, and yes , its also my email & website address. ::

I decided I would add my two cents too! I picked my name for a couple of reasons... my daughters middle name is Faith... and of course we here all know that we have to keep hold of our faith through these trying times.... and hope... well that would have been (if my second child was a girl) her middle name... and we also all here need to hang on to the HOPE that we will get better... there is always hope!!!!!!! But the greatest of these is love! Do you know that bible verse, faith, hope and love!!!!!!!
