I just have to say that it was a joy to watch those numbers grow this morning while I was at work.
It cracked me up to see us push to 15th and get so close to 14th.
And I don't know one little ol' think about car racing.
So now I know more. It's fun.
Thanks for doing that Tincup -- raising awareness and having some fun to boot.

I looked up how many folks we may actually have reached by doing so well in the contest.
There are multiple website traffic trackers out there that keep track of this sort of thing, and here's what I found:
The racing website, even before things got into full swing, was attracting over 300,000 unique visitors A DAY.
That is an ENORMOUS audience for our Lyme Awareness car!!
Wow and then some...

Please share this with everyone!
AMAZING NEWS and CONGRATULATIONS!
Thanks to you...
Out of a field of over 78,000 cars that were entered in the contest, the Lyme Disease Awareness Race Car shot up the ladder and made it into 15th place by the time the voting period ended today.
The team work on this project couldn't have been better! We ended up with 7,889 votes!
Thanks to all who made it a point to vote for our special car. Thanks also to the individuals and groups that put the contest information on their websites, shared it by email, face book and twitter.
Without all of you this success wouldn't have been possible!
The Lyme Disease Awareness Race Car will be on display on the official website for at least another 10 or more days. Thanks to your efforts, millions of people will have a chance to see it that normally wouldn't.
As a special thanks to all of you, another car has been designed that not only expresses our sincere gratitude to you, it will hopefully redistribute the energy we are all feeling into another worthwhile project so we can keep the positive momentum going.
Please check out the link below and be sure to click on the 3-D button to read the message on the hood, and to see the car's roof and the spoiler on the back of the car.
To see the original Lyme Disease Awareness Race Car in its new official line-up (15th place)- click on the link, then on "Gallery". Then click on the button for "Most Votes". We are on Page 2.
I want to invite everyone to help us in a special effort to support our dear Dr. Charles R. Jones and his children.
He continues to brave the many forces against him that are trying to force him into bankruptcy or retirement so he will stop treating the countless sick children with Lyme and tick borne diseases.
Please check the website below which is under construction (pardon our dust while it is being developed), but which has been put into action early to assist us with our new project-
If you would like to join us in this effort, we would be thrilled!
Please send your completed plans and details for helping Dr. Jones to us by replying to this email, so they can be included on this page for all to see.
Thanks again for your support to help race Lyme disease awareness! A sweet success it was!

You couldn't make this stuff up, how this finished today, with the Lyme car perfectly zooming in between two close-count cars, and us not realizing that we had an extra hour to vote due to daylight savings! Too funny!
It was really fun watching the votes come in - for anyone who was watching the count change every couple seconds. THAT was the race right there - it couldn't get any faster than that! -
And thx for making another car, TC - they're fun to design.

UGGG.. I was watching some racing legends doing a 35 lap run today at Bristol.
There was a bad wreck just before the end... and these "legends"... some in their 70's now... were going faster than the regular race cars were earlier in the day.
Just heard the driver of one car (Pearson) had a broken pelvis, ankle and hand. So sorry to hear that, but glad it wasn't worse. We were all worried.
